Yes there are infinite ways to extend this. I don't have it here yet coz I don't have enough time to shoot videos of them, I only send those in my private lessons.
I just got a 35 key mbira as my first mbira, do you by chance also teach how to be sure your mbira is in tune after being shipped halfway around the world? Then can I get lessons from you on this challenging first mbira experience? Photo of mbira (tuned to F) upon request if it helps.Thank you!
It is called a Munhurikwa, it is in F. There are two rows of right hand keys and it is low in sound. I did not know what I was ordering, from Zimbabwe, haha, but it is very beautiful, I am just facing a challenge right now because I am not able to follow along with your videos without understanding how to transpose. The lower set on the right hand side includes very skinny tines. It appears the upper right hand row is the one for playing the melody and the lower for embellishments? If possible may I pm you my contact information? Perhaps I can pay you then to consult or to record a RU-vid tutorial on an introduction to this kind of Mbira? Thank you!
