What a joy to hear Eddie, anytime, any place. I was at Ronnie's on opening night in 1959 and Eddie was in superb form. I last heard him at the (sadly long-defunct) Warren Bulkeley hotel - 'railway tunnel' downstairs, and he had his audience enthralled all evening. He is much missed, but this recording will hopefully garner him a whole new audience, for he stood high in the rankings of British jazz pianists of his era.

I used to listen to Eddie Sunday mornings at the red lion Ilford and other venues in London what a great pianist .

Ah! such memories. I believe Eddie used to live at Goodmayes, and I lived in Romford up to 1972 when I left to live in Cornwall where I have been ever since! It's records like this though that keeps music of this calibre alive!
