Hey just wanted to tell you I think your idea for the stomp boot is extraordinary! Imagine creating a slip-on to go outside your boot so that you didn't need to alter your actual wearable shoe, and with this slip on you would have Velcro straps to tighten and loosen it to your boot, a wireless transmitter, and the pick up would be embedded into the slip on, making a versatile, easy to use, stomp boot. Market that and you'll have a toy for the holidays.
That has got to be one of the most innovative DIY jobs i've ever seen!! Nice one! :) One question tho: is the piezo pickup very fragile or durable? cos i'd imagine all the stomping would have an effect (or not XD).
Hey thats a great idea thanks, got to try this, the next prototype would be to glue the piezos, or even tiny old speakers into the heels of the boots, and then use radio mics. I saw one guy once with an crushed old coke can tied to his foot using a bicycle inner tube -different sound though.
You could go with a thicker soled boot, Dremel out a recess for the pickup then run the wire straight back through the tread. Drill out a hole through the heel and mount the jack right in there. Sounds great.
@soadthedude a good method to have a consistent sound could be to just make a portable floor for stomping. like a small piece of wood with some rubber on it
You genius!! Ive been researching D.I.Y stompboxes and this seems the easiest yet brilliant ways so far!! Im a lead singer in my band Thomson oldeman and sometimes our drummer is working when we play gigs so this for me will work great as i always stomp my feet to the beat :) Do you mind if i use this? x
That is such an amazing idea! I've got a new cigar box (license plate style) guitar coming tomorrow and been looking for a stomp box and then how to make one. Came across your video and damn it sounds the best through an amp by far. My old cigar box guitar has some kind of pickup in it, the whole thing was only £20 from the works, so I was thinking of breaking that open for a stomp box build. This video sounds like a good idea, but I'd assume you have wooden floor there, so it may sound a lot different on concrete. Still, love the video and idea, so thank you very much :)
just like to point out that they did not take pencil into space. The led can break and go into your eyes, mouth or nose for example.. it can be dangerous. but this is a cool idea
And they wouldn't want graphite dust floating around with all that electronic kit. But there was no need to research a special pen that would work in zero grav because a normal biro works perfectly well, in fact even better, than on earth. With no gravity to overcome the capillary action a biro will happily work at any angle in space. Dontcha love these urban myths.
Hi, My name is Eugene I'm the founder of Stompai. Stompai allows you to use your phone as a double kick percussion instrument. Our app detects a movement of your foot and will play two different sounds, fully customizable for toes or heel movement. We have a variety of sounds for you to choose from. All you need is our app and a foot mount. Pick your sounds, place your phone on the mount and get it adjusted on your foot and you are ready to rock! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-leuWzjxxOtI.html What do you guys think?
