I thought I wouldn't be using letters in my work until I saw this video, but I have long desired to do a reference to the poem "T'wa Corbies" and include the opening lines. Now, finally, I see a way to do it! Thank you again -- I learn so much from every video you post.
I just started watching your videos and you are such a GREAT teacher!! I feel encouraged to try things I've always wanted to do but was hesitant to start! Thank you SO much!!
Oh thank you for this excellent tutorial and the free download! I want to monogram my blue jeans and a few other things. The cloth on the back with stabilizer will help on sweaters. ❤ from Canada.
This is so cool!!! Very pretty. I've been wanting to do some letters for my journals. Perfect timing!!! Thank you for the free patterns. Very generous of you. TFS Austin TX USA
Every Friday looking forward to your video. Funny it shows at different time. Today came at 16:30 p.m. Sometimes at 12:00 p.m. or 13:00 p.m. here In PEI Canada. Thanks again
Hello Sarah. Well, this one was a little cracker! Thank you. I really like the way you take a “simple shape” and use a number of methods to get such a variety of wonderful results - all using very basic stitches that even a novice like me can aspire to.
Hi Sarah, thanks for this lovely video. As always, I am inspired to have a go so this will be my stitching project for tomorrow, the weather forecast is rain so what better way is there to ignore the weather and focus on some stitchery ❤ Helen (patron member)
I always thought the letters with flowers would be hard but these are great . THANK YOU and I love all your little flags from all the countries. very special you are great
Great video, Sarah! Love the detailed instruction, and the tip about using 1 less strand of floss for the shadow; never would have thought about that until seeing your letters. Thanks, also, to Jonathan for the great camera work that allowed us to clearly see Sarah executing the stitches. The fabric paint and sparkles on the letters C & A really float my boat. Yay for sparkles! Thanks for the free downloads! 💖
I've been watching embroidery videos for over 2yrs. Your videos, by far, are the most descriptive, helpful ones. You're very good at teaching and explaining. Thank you 😊 (from Iowa, United States)
Thank you for inspiring me to learn to embroidery! I would love to be notified if you come back to Portland for classes. I’m about five hours south of there in southern Oregon.
Thank you I really enjoyed this. Have downloaded the letters and when I get supplies going to have a go. I’m an experienced sewer but never attempted embroidery lol
The hardest part of embroidery is just starting. Its easier than cooking, because in cooking you have to eat your mistakes. Here you just toss the work in a drawer and say okay, I've learned and will be better next time.
@@gwendolenshepard9124 LOL! You made me smile just thinking about having to eat my embroidery mistakes. Guess that would be one way to get more fiber into my diet. A whole lot more fiber! 😄
@parkergirl7576 Welcome to the channel. I hope you have lots of fun adventures as you embark on your embroidery journey. I look forward to seeing your stitching in a future video showcasing everyone's work! 🤩👍
Thank you Sarah, what a fantastic idea, and such a lovely, useful design too!. I have slogged over many an embroidered initial in the past as a gift for someone, but yours are much better as they are both delightfully quick to do, yet also look 'really' special as well (you should have seen my eyes light up at the goldy spangle one) and you can't get better than that can you!, honestly, my 'inspired by Sarah to do list" is ever growing!!!, and I shall say it again.... what on earth would we do without you, thank you
Thank you, Sarah!! So easy to understand. I’ve seen many ways to make roses and leaves and your way is by far the easiest way!! Love it. I will definitely do some roses and leaves on my embroidery. ❤️😘🤗😍💕
😄 'don't take threads out' I'm working on the undersea project and have wanted to pull it all out. Thankyou for the encouragement to practice different stitches, colour combos. etc Have a lovely week.
Great video and instruction. These are lovely. I haven't tried the ribbon rose yet, but you make it look do-able. All 3 of yours are lovely, but I think my favourite is the "C" as well.
My goodness Sarah, your videos are just brilliant, you are so very good at explaining everything and not rushing. I love your calm attitude of 'take your time', wonderful. I have printed the alphabet, I'm looking forward to having a go. Thank you so much for taking the time to do these fabulous videos.
This is just perfect timing. I am going from cross stitch to embroidery and I was wanting to make something sort of like this for my nieces as an easy beginner project to practice different stitches and embellishments. I was going to do the letter of their first names and then their flower (they each have the middle name of a flower or plant Rose, Lily, Ivy) so I was going to make each a little 3" or so letter with theirs.
Thanks for this tutorial Sarah! I was thinking about doing ribbon embroidered ornaments this year for the family and this was a great refresher on the technique. If you can show different types of flowers, that would also be terrific.
Sarah, I am so glad to find your channel. Thank you for all the wonderful tutorials and access to some of your designs. Do you have a link to the pencil you are using? Again, thank you and I look forward to watching many more of your videos.
Thank you, I am going to try this😊. Could you recommend a good starter set of embroidery needles x i do not have any just regular sewing ones and couple of cross stitch needles. It would be nice to have a basic set to get going with x
These are really beautiful ❤ I'm working on my first peice of Jacobean Crewel work at the moment, which I'm very proud of, no major mistakes or failures so far... do you think I could mix the lettering with the jacobean style..? X
