0:58 If you want to stick to vanilla instead of world edit you can use the debug stick to change the orientation of the glass. Just do /give @p debug_stick.
@noeneonmusic
@noeneonmusic 2 года назад
Additionally if you're doing this in survival (no debug stick / bedrock edition) glass panes do not attach to stairs, you can use the full side of a stair block pointing outwards and it'll give the same effect.

Try to keep old buildings in the outer circle of the center mixed. Some have modern interior, and some are a bit older. From there on out try to build more modern gradually.

And, for the real world logic, the most complicated glass is used for the insolation and keep temperature low
@Alpine1
@Alpine1 2 года назад
Yup! Most glass is composed of two or three panes with either air or an inert gas (argon is pretty common) between panes to lower the “u-value” (low u value = less heat transfer)

Question: can you show how to make a building with a glass exterior (almost like your tutorial) but in bedrock?
@Oswaldo_Godoy

what if you want to keep the look of the 2 block floors but don't want the glass panes to connect to the floor at all? could you instead use stairs with the back of the stairs to the panes or will the panes connect to the back of stair blocks? my idea is to have a layer of stairs at ceiling height and upside-down stairs at floor height with the backs of the stairs facing away from the glass panes in a way that would hide the fact that they're stairs

Love your videos. I've got a small question - What do you think of complete duplication of the real world buildings (specifying the reference, of course) in minecraft? Is it okay to do it or not? Want to know your opinion.
@Jaxan-dq2jy
@Jaxan-dq2jy Год назад
I'm not alpine but I think it's completely okay Many people build that way and still enjoy it A good example is the building earth in minecraft project The only thing I'd worry about is that it can stunt improvement and become a crutch. Copying is a lot easier than building from scratch and you need to confuse yourself in order to improve. Copying can also be a way of refusing to face failure. If your not confident in your building ability and copy because you are afraid it will look bad then that is a really destructive habit It is a good way to learn the nature of a building style though and if you make the reference your own unique building or even combine references that will lead to greater improvement rather then just copying :)

most times it's easier and more gameplay friendly to just put black or dark gray concrete behind the glass, you don't need interior that way.
@tonka555
@tonka555 2 года назад
it's always better to have interiors
@derkaempfer_hd
@derkaempfer_hd 2 года назад
@@tonka555 not really especially when you want the map you work on and the buildings on it to be accessible for a reason. Lots of buildings end up with litte reason for interior, be it missing elements (like no special npc, loot, storage etc.) or just structure being pain to navigate. I dont know many players that like to climb ladders inside elevator shafts for several minutes or run on stairs and press left and right in a monotone fashion, neither walking around in endless office space. Sure, for creative it's irrelevant (do what you want to do), but not when gameplay is in mind. Edit: It can actually end up harmful for players if a building has lots of problematic blocks and interior, primarily transparent, overly detailed or entities like paintings, shulkers, signs or item frames. They cause MASSIVE fps lag for casual players without decent pc.

It's world edit
@Alpine1
@Alpine1 2 года назад
With worldedit, you’ll do //set 102[north=true,south=true] If it’s east and west instead just replace north and south, and if you want stained glass panes change ‘102’ to the other ID (160:X), 160 is stained glass panes and X should be replaced with a number between 0 and 15
