Today's video is all about how to make your own welcome sign using mdf boards or wooden boards
This is a tutorial on how to hand paint wooden or mdf boards using acrylic paints and how to do lettering or write your customised quote on wood.

I am glad that I came across your channel. Would you pls answer my query? What if we use little birdie chalk paints on MDF and then seal it with varnish? Will they lose their shine over a period of 4-5 months?

Hey Ankita! Chalk paint would do very well for sure on MDF surfaces plus it is eco-friendly. It will remain intact if you use a good quality varnish. ☺️

Thnq so much Sanya for sharing the product links...is the sharpie marker u used is it permanent..I mean is it water proof?how long did u leave the board before varnish

Yes, the marker is permanent, waterproof and oil based. Before varnishing you can leave the board for an hour or so just make sure the paint is completely dried out.

Can i use fevicryl acrylic colour on mdf? Also what is the dimension of these round mdf?

Hey there, I tried using water spray. Although it is not necessary depending upon how viscous your color is :)

I just tried to mist a little with water to experiment a little bit. But it works well without water as well since the consistency of acrylic paint is good enough. :)

Do we need to prime the mdf board with primer before painting?

Hey there! I don’t use primer on Craftslane products since it gives me great results without it due to smooth finish. However, for other brands/local shop mdf boards, I prefer using a primer as the wood is generally not very well finished and absorbs lots of paint. :)

Hey there! stays as long as the acrylic paint, but make sure to varnish it to give it extra protection:)

Even after using varnish, the color fades after some time why so?? like msf key chain regular basis pr use krte h toh colour fade ho jata aap bta skte aisa kyun hota or kya krna chahiye taki colour fade ni ho

Depends upon the quality of varnish. Try another varnish 🙂

My white paint always gets oxidised in the blue paint and it become into light blue clr when write or paint over blue paint but yours stayed the same ???

I let the white paint dry up completely and then put the other color over it. So next time when you try maybe just do a sample test on a smaller area and see the results. Also, if you try artist acrylic paints this problem wouldn’t be faced. I hope this helped!

Ah okay. Yeah it is the same for the lettering as well. What colors are you using?

@@diywithsanya2806 I used a mixture ultramarine blue, sap green,white and dark green and got a teal turquoise like something and I wrote a quote over it using white paint and when it gets dry it become something like light blue. And the paint I use is fevicryl.

No. Even the mdf board is not supposed to be exposed to water.
