This video is great. I’ve been struggling making good contact consistently and trying to learn how to setup to the ball with my irons and this defiantly helped. I grabbed my 7 iron and went outside and made good contact with 3 of those stupid little balls nicely. Thank you.
Thank you so much for delclutering my view of the golf swing. I have been golfing for about 45 years and have been an average golfer for most of that time. I have always felt I could do better but short seasons and time limitations have always held me back. I am 58 now and in the last 7 years or so have struggled with vision changes and reduced flexibility, as a result my scores have started to deteriorate. The harder I worked at simplifying and bullet proofing my swing the worse I got. Then I discovered your videos and I managed to clarify what makes a great drive and iron shat for me. Retirement is looking good. Thank you.
Very well done! When I have a bad shot, in most instances I can trace it back to a fault in setup, posture or grip. My swing is on auto once I am comfortable with my address. Thx. Tom
Excellent content as always! I will certainly check these in today's practice. I've been struggling with my driver the past couple of weeks, hitting low left pulled hooks & when I try to correct, by ensuring I'm swinging from the inside, I end up pushing massive slices high right. I can see that my basic setup could easily be the cause or at least a contributor, since I have recently begun to pull my right foot back a couple inches to aid my rotation, I may be altering ball position without realizing it. Thanks again for offering your insights!
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf bought a new Tensei shaft. Hooking it left Not the shaft. I was leaning to far left. It's great that you explain things. Helps me to understand.
Good back-to-basics video, I definitely bookmarked this one. Thanks for the refresher course. On a lighter note, if I can figure out, on the tee box, how to jump and land with ball at left heel, my golf mates will be as impressed as hell. Especially if I can do it for 18 holes. 😉
Ha! Well perhaps the jumping should be reserved for home and then just note te distance from that training and apply to the course. But maybe jumping into the ball position is more fun;)
Alex, how did you know I was sitting on my a$$ watching the video. Enjoyed your alignment tips, especially the driver, and how to execute swing in relation to the “wall”. Still sitting on my a$$ though. Will work on setup this week.
My driver swing feels so awkward and clumsy, but I feel like I have great consistency and confidence in my irons and even my hybrid and fairway wood... I generally know where my ball is going, how it's going to land and how far it's gonna go... my driver I have no idea where it's going, how high, how low, the spin... it could hook, slice or have so much backspin it falls to the ground 100 yards out. I need to do a lot of work.
