Chucking takes some patience, or at least that was my experience. I have 2 full videos on Mastering the Chuck. You will get it. Just keep at it and it will develop over time.
I’m new to Uke but love your style of teaching. I never played a string instrument before plus I’m 68 yrs & ready to do this. Thank you Lisa for all you do.
There are people who are quite accomplished that wrap their thumb around, but.....I don't recommend it. Most people's hands work better when they are in a position of maximum strength, while still being relaxed. Classical musicians are taught this all the time - all string instruments, piano, trumpet, flute - you name it. If you think you can train you thumb to stay near the middle of the back of the neck and keep your hand in an open "C' shape, you will probably be better off.
@@TheUkuleleFool We're doing fine, Lisa. I've joined a ukulele club and my wife and my friend are immersing ourselves in a new experience. It's very exciting. 😊😊
@@richdavis4007 - Very cool! I am offering a Getting to Know Uke weekly feature on my Patreon site. You should submit one of the forms. I'd love to do a feature on you.
