SO curious to know what you think of this new EASY/ELEVATED series concept??? I had lots of fun making it. I hope this inspires you to play with food, modify if needed, and use what you have on hand! But in case you want to loosely follow the easy recipe, here is what I did
Honestly Michel, You should definitely reach out to a couple of foodie influencers for a foodie collaboration on these kind of series. @lainiecooks_ @chefbae, @girlwithagourmetpalate, @sweetsimplevegan, @frommybowl, @plantyou
The easy was NOT easy. Easy would have been tortillas, the chicken without adding everything else, bag of cheese, sour cream, and a can of enchilada sauce. Now to keep watching to see what elevated looks like if that first one was "easy". -Signed someone that can't even remember that they're boiling water, so take this with a grain of salt.
Like the series! Having some taste testers to give their feedback on the two versions would be interesting too for the "is it worth elevating?" question.
I have skipped the food series videos in the past because they were totally out of the realm of anything I would ever make. This was really enjoyable, helpful, and gave me good inspiration. 👏🏻
While I haven't been a fan of the cooking series, I did enjoy this one! This felt more realistic to recreate at home, so it was easier to follow along. Love your channel. ❤
I've loved all of your cooking videos, including this one! Recently your cooking videos inspired me to make a 5 course meal for my boyfriend. And honestly, I surprised myself with how much fun I had AND how good everything turned out! Looking forward to your next cooking video and love that it makes you so happy❤
I’m honestly here for any and all of your cooking content. Your passion for food and cozy style of your videos are what inspire me to wanna watch, set you down on my counter and make dinner with you 😊❤
Michel!! I made this!! So yummy! I don’t know if I was being too stingy with filling in my tortillas, but I was able to fill almost enough tortillas for 2 9x13 pans! Which made me wish I had extra salsa verde for the bottom/top of the second pan. So if someone makes this maybe get an extra jar of salsa just in case and/or really fill those tortillas. I also added lime juice and cilantro to the blended mixture and I liked it! Please make more of this series!! You’re a part of inspiring me to really pursue cooking as a hobby/craft not just for sustenance on a weeknight ❤
Love this concept!!! Would also be cool to see a “5 ingredient series” or meals for “under x amount of $”. I know those probably aren’t as exciting for the elevated crowd, but us budget queens who don’t know what they’re doing in the kitchen would greatly appreciate 😅😂❤
The elevated helps us spice things up if we wanted to do a date night at home or if we’re tired of making the same thing every week. Looking forward to seeing what else you do!!
And i really appreciate your honesty on how you really feel on the project. sometimes it doesn't work out and that honesty gives your dishes more credibility. Love this direction.
Something my family does pretty regularly is homemade Chick-fil-A night… chicken sandwiches or nuggets and french fries. That would be cool to see you make healthier and elevate!
I love this series already! I am only going to try new dinner recipes if they are quick, simple and tasty. These recipes are very relatable -- thanks for sharing!
These looked so good! I can't wait to try this. One suggestion would have been to zest the lime on top before you squeeze the juice on. It boosts the lime flavor and adds texture.
I love this and I think that my grandma would too! She had a catering business after she retired working from the auto factories in Detroit. She was awesome and would love you to bits!
Love this! I've been trying to expand my horizons in the kitchen and it's super fun to see you take a recipe and play around with it instead of sticking to a recipe. Super inspiring!
My son & I was watching “Triple Threat” on Netflix ; One of the chefs Tiffany Derry (I think) threw in two whole garlic 🧄 un peeled and un cooked right in the pan with her sauce to get mass flavor out of it! It was so fun to watch that! We love watching cooking shows to get amazing ideas from these top chefs! My favorite professional chefs to watch are: Brooke Willimson Michael Voltaggio Tiffany Derry Sloan Rinaldi (a Texan born from Houston) just a new to the famous BBQer Platform but not new to bbq! she was top 3 in BBQ Brawl! She should’ve won cuz she made the proteins for the chick who did win! Only my opinion 😊❤ It’s been fun to watch a fellow Texan become famous!
This is such a cute idea! I love your food content but it doesn't always feel accessible (seriously you're so creative!) but this is perfect! Ily Michel
REALLY enjoyed both ways! I'm definitely the "easy" cooking way, as my time never seems to be my own- or enough! But both recipes look delicious and I can see making the enchiladas in the future! Thanks for the double cooking/work!!
Love the new content! I make a homemade green enchilada sauce with roasted poblano peppers, onions, tomatillos, green hatch chili's, chicken broth, garlic and seasonings. It is so good.
Ah this was such a fun video! I love the idea of more videos like this! I am going to try a mix of both tacos. I love the fresh grilled chicken and the plating of the second one with the beans, but I’m going to use store bought salsa to save time 😁 Thanks for the idea! Would love to see a chicken pot pie made easy vs elevated! Also chili made easy vs elevated!
I LOVE all the food content! I think it would be super cool to have a series focusing on meals you grew up eating but then you elevate them into a fine dining situation (thinking of your Opa’s soup hehe). Keep it up, Michel! 🙌🏻❤️
Love this concept Michel! Maybe in the future you could focus on one item that was store bought in the simple version and show in depth how you make it from scratch, rather than elevating the whole recipe ❤
Oh this is such a great concept! Love to have easy recipe ideas because I really don't like cooking, but also having an elevated version for when I am hosting! Only thing is some of these ingredients are not available where I live, but that's very much a me problem 😅
I’d love for you to do white pizzas,a garlic oil base, pesto or some type of white sauce 🤷🏼♀️. One Vegetarian without mushrooms (monkey wrench for some) and the other whatever you want. I’d love to see what you come up with. I love to experiment with food, too. I’m vegetarian and still get to try & try and make a lot of different/great foods. •edit for clarification•
This is sooooo good! I would say that maybe having people blind taste test the dishes and tell you which one tastes better might be a good idea. I would love to see a Shepherd's Pie version of this :)
Ahh Michel!! I love this so much and I am so excited for this new series! You are such an inspiration to me and I love all your videos! I love when you host and the baby shower looked so amazing with the decor to the food and desserts. Thank you for always being open with us and I love seeing you be the light on this platform. Ilysm and I hope you’re having an amazing day 💕
As a member of the Mexican community (lol) both look great! Like you said not "authentic" but more so "inspired by*". .. the first filling i would use it for tostada filling (w/ a layer of refried beans in the bottom, maybe like a pickled onion on top) or it can be used as Pasta Verde!
They both looked good enough to eat. We just moved from Long Beach, CA to a small town in the country in Michigan. They do not have the crumbly cotija here! Please send some...
This was fun to watch. I'm not a cook, like at all, but I liked watching to see. I'm terrible about getting in greens, but blending them altogether is a great idea. Maybe I can learn something.
I love baking!😊 I’m get very very frustrated with gluten free flours though! I’m having to retrain my whole way of baking after 40yrs of baking… I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s last yr so it hasn’t been very long but my goal is to make so many yummy deserts like you found in France! 😊or maybe I should just move to France 😂😂😂
14:27 you can totally do that with the flat tortillas! It’s a Mexican dish called Pastel azteca or “Aztec cake”. It’s our Mexican lasagna 😅 And PS as a Mexican it hurts my soul to see the bag calling that “Mexican blend” of cheeses 😂😫 that has nothing to do with our quesos (which is Spanish for cheese)
This seems like such a good compromise of what that makes you happy and what the viewers want! I thought it was inevitable you'd drop the "fine dining" content completely since so many comments said they don't like it, which made me sad for you when that's the stuff that has you literally dancing around saying "Let's play!"
I skipped past your other cooking videos but this one is a good idea! The only thing is- I couldn’t relate to the adding protein any way you can and that prevented me from actually trying it. I would want recipes that normal people would make without any high protein twists
Throw ur blender out! That was scary when it turned on by itself 😮 I love cooking also but I’m broke 😂 so it’s nice to watch you be able to make anything regardless of cost🎉 so fun!
Little nonna hack for the stems of the kale, boil them to make a very flavorful broth that can be a base for a risotto or cook the pasta in if you are making pasta with a kale pesto 😙 minimum food waste, maximum kale experience 😂
I haven’t even watched the “elevated” second half and had to comment because I’m loving this soooo much. Thank you, Michel! You are an absolute star and joy to watch… in every video. ✨
Your elevated dish had me with the exception of the soy sauce. My palate just doesn’t feel the combination of the soy with the more Tex-mex ingredients. Possibly because soy isn’t high on my list of favorite flavors so the combination of the two flavor profiles just seems an odd pairing. Who knows, I could be completely off base and it turn out to be wonderful. I might have to play with this some.
