Love your paint style, Shayda. I do want to bring attention to your Princeton Velvet Touch brush you are using…For the new artist who want the “exact” brush that you have, you may want to say you are using a “Velvet Touch 4 LONG round” brush. I noticed you went from the Kolinsky brushes to the “long rounds”…They are very different just a Velvet Touch round brush…thought you followers would want to know b/c when I return to painting, I had some Velvet Touch rounds and discovered from another artist about the “LONG rounds”. They are a game changer.
Thanks, Betty! My no. 8 is indeed a long round and in this video I'm using a no. 4 round, supplies all linked in description for anyone watching and wanting to shop☺️
i love the loose, kinda whimsical style, it's pretty as always..🥺❤ the glasses are cute, too edit: i do have the tendency to make things perfect and end up doing nothing 🥴 i cringe when i try to make them look playful, i get obssessed with details 🙄.. still working on it
I love these and I think they are less intimidating than a full watercolour piece. I will definitely give this project a try. Thanks for the inspiration.
These are awesome and a great idea as a gift for my bookworm auntie. I think I’ll try and whip up a few of these today to send to her. Thanks for the great inspiration! Love your work and style! ♥️
Hi Shayda! I had an amazing time making this little set of bookmarks! Thank you for sharing this it was great to practice and add to my skills! I was wondering if you could do some marigolds and chrysanthemums tutorials? They are my favorite flowers but so difficult to get just right!
I haven't done a specific tutorial on marigolds but I did include them in one of my journal layouts: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vOwFFL_sgeo.html, and in case you haven't found this new video on chrysanthemums: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CL3k7OwnKiU.html
This was so satisfying for me to do because I watched myself improve by little bits as I did each bookmark. By the last one I was actually excited by my work, and learning about the abstracting was so valuable!! Thank you Shayda!!!
Can you do tea related items different ways? Like watercolor, drawn and markered teacups, teabags etc. You had that PWM teapot and I loved it so much!!
Omg I have no words to say to this amazing piece of art. This is incredible wow absolutely amazing. I loved it and you are my role model, you are my teacher, my best teacher for floral artworks. Thank you so much for your incredible support and encouragement from new new projects. ❤️
Hi Shayda - Love these little bookmarks! I love to go out and collect acorns in my back yard. The deer and squirrels love them too! Will check out the glasses. I need some new ones. Happy Fall. 🌻
These are perfect, I love the positive energy in you and your channel ☀️ I’ve learned so much about art from you! You’ve taught me that, my art doesn’t have to be perfect that I can just enjoy my self when I’m sketching, or painting etc. so thank you!
Really adore your work Shayda! I was wondering - Do you mainly stick to drawing botanics at home? Reason I ask is because I only ever feel like drawing flowers/plants but find myself torn feeling like I need to be practicing other things too but not really wanting to. Love your videos!! ♡
Florals are my go to and my favorite! I try to include other things here, but you should never feel like you Need to paint something you don't want to :)
Thank you so much! You are probably asking about the green mixed with brown, but I have a whole video about mixing natural looking greens :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2lyasLLaTVc.html
Shayda, I have a question about your Tshirts. Do the "Ladies Shirts" run true to size? I normally wear a Medium in most tees. I don't like a clingy tee. Thanks & look forward to ordering the Perfectly Imperfect Tee!
Hi Shayda, I'm new to your channel since the DIYDanie exchange. I've been following her for years. I'm very interested in beginning watercolors as a hobby (retired and 66). I camp at a lot of beautiful places and want to do landscape scenes. Please advise me on beginner watercolor supplies. I see you have recommendations in this video. Did you make an intro to watercolor painting? I'm interested...thanks!
Welcome! I think you'll find watercolor painting is a wonderful hobby and a truly relaxing and uplifting 'me time' ❤️ I have an older video about supplies that you can watch: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aZox9agP62Y.html and I also have a beginner e-course all about watercolor painting, but definitely watch a few videos to see if you like my teaching style. ☺️
