How to Paint a Quick Two-Toned Rose: Start by laying down the light yellow wash then while this is still wet, outline the petals in pink. Use the side of the brush to "sit" on the border of the 2 colors to gently blend it in. Dont mix the paint using the brush because it will just turn orange. Our goal is to see both the pink and the yellow. I usually would paint a rose from the inside going out, but in this case, I find it easier to start the pink outline with the outer petals so that when i get to the center, it is dry. Add more petals as needed. I used daniel smith new gamboge, opera rose and quinacridone rose for the flower and cobalt teal blue and phthalo green for the leaves.
