Full and unedited video on how to use the kerosene stove, but using filtered waste cooking oil. It can also be used for used engine or motor oil. But I prefer used cooking oil.
I bought a keresone stove (Kusinilya de Bomba) for around PhP1,000 at Lazada. local online store.
I didnt modify anything on the stove unlike on my other videos that modification was done. I still use the stock Burner #1 and its nipple/nozzle.
The only difference is I fuel it with used / waste cooking oil.
Oil when burned emits smoke and fumes when not properly ignited because of higher flashpoint than of kerosene or diesel that are commonly used on this kind of stove.
Here are the techniques and procedures how to successfully operate smokeless and odorless stove:
1. Use the stove on a non windy but ventillated environment. Otherwise the burner will get cold and the flame will emit smoke and some unburned oil will also drip. Even a gentle breeze of wind affects the performance of the flame.
2. Always check the nozzle / nipple clog free.
3. Use only denatured alcohol on pre-heating. Do not use isopropyl or rubbing alcohol. They contain water.
4. Use 3 cotton balls soaked in Denatured alcohol. Do not overspill the pre-heating cup.
I manage to use 1 cotton ball only if I put some alcohol on top of the burner. Easier to pre-heat. But you must have good timing opening the control valve. Too quick, flame is not good. Too slow, flaming alcohol will dry out.
5. Right after using the stove, clean the nozzle / nipple for the next use.
Here are economical way to filter waste cooking oil:
1. Put the used collected cooking oil on a transparent container
2. Let is settle for at least a week. Some water and visible solid particles will settle below the container
3. I use surgical facemask as filter as this is available anywhere. I would recommend a new one not the used one, avoiding disease such as Covid-19. You can still re-use it until the oil is not dripping on the filter.
4. Using funnel with one ply of facemask, you can transfer the oil on another transparent container.
5. You can already fill up the stove with filtered used cooking oil.
Used cooking oil burning:
You will notice that the color of the flame is not blue unlike with the kerosene or diesel. This is because, there might be other suspended food particles on the oil even it is filtered. It is also the chemical content of oil itself. But you will notice the burner is already glowing. It means it is very hot.

I got also an early YT video that I replaced the burner with #2 which is larger because previously, I had several attempt to operate with stock #1 burner. But now, I got the technique.
Downside of a stock burner #1.
1. The nozzle is easily clogged compared when using burner #2.
2. I need to slowly adjust the control valve from time to time as the flame is not stable compared to the burner #2. Maybe because burner #2 has more room to heat the more oil inside the tube, so the flame is stable.
