Hey Dylan, having a issue around here, I received a bunch of PSD files to animate, but the thing is that when I import the PSD file to final cut pro, version 10.7.1, it only import the full image as jpeg or png file, it doesnt separate the layers such as you showed in the video, any light that you can give it to me so I can fix that out?

Can me convert this sequence into a transition? I recreated it with my own logo but would love to use it as a transition between two scenes. Is there some way to reuse it in Motion?

I didn't know you can open PSDs in final cut. Thank you! Unrelated question: Is there a way to stop the ease in/out when animating keyframes in final cut? I know you can do it on the transform by changing to linear in the viewer, but can it be done on ken burns or scale animations? Or ideally, be made the default?

One of my largest frustrations with FCP is that you can't do either of those things. That's a large reason as to why I don't even want to touch keyframes in FCP anymore, and just either use plugins, or create the animations in Motion. Appreciate you watching!

Hey Bruh, I've been using this method for a minute for clients however I'm finding that some elements (effects on certain layers in PhotoShop) don't export with the PSD and I have to go into Photoshop and export them individually (with the effects). Also, the file has to be in RGB for FCP to read them correctly. Any workaround?

Appreciate you sharing! I must be super lucky to not have run into that issue, so I can’t say I do have a workaround. It might be that I typically am working with PSD’s that were made in affinity photo or Pixelmator. But I have used it on several projects where the files came directly from photoshop. I’ll definitely need to do some digging and see if I can find anything!

@@TheFinalCutBro Even Pixelmator is butchering my PSDs when I attempt to import them so I just have to gut it out and import the files directly to FCP & Compound clip all of the elements individually... Nonetheless, luv your work and what you do, I always find take aways from your vidz! 👊🏾

Very cool tutorial and very nice channel! Thank you! :) Except I absolutely don't understand why you do what you do from 1m17 to 1m22. 😂It was working perfectly fine before doing these steps as Final Cut Pro puts all the layers on the timeline and that you can animate them separately. 🤷‍♀ And for the beginners like me, it would be nice to say you need to make it a compound clip to be able to export your animation. ;) At least, I had to or I could have not exported it. Wishing you all the best with your channel ❤

You buy Affinity photo or Pixelmator! They aren't as powerful as photoshop, but cover 95% of the average users needs.

Not a good explanation and you are too fast and you may have left out something. Slow Down, I don't like pausing, backing up finding the right place and then hitting play. I came from FCP 7 and it was a dream to work with PSDs, from what I see too many steps just to bring it in. Da Vinci is even worse - new is not always better. stuck in the past. May somebody knows a better way to work with PSDs.
