Thank for the tips! Just tried this method, and it worked! A added a minor modification: put on nitrile exam gloves underneath cotton gloves and sprayed cotton gloves with Windex.
Windex will leave some residue. The best solution that I have found is a commercial glass cleaner mixed with distilled water, then add at least 10% of 90% alcohol. I have worked for years in lighting showrooms. This method is not the best but is the most economical when you have dozens or hundreds of fixtures to clean.
Lovely video... and thanks for your tips. Before I began using the gloves, I used a hair dryer to blow off the heavy dust from the chandelier. I found it helpful. Take care!!!
HI you realy made me laugh about using the hairdryer, and you only get the loose dust of , but with the gloves you get the rest of all dirt of as well Have a good time Lilo
Great idea. But for the grimier crystals , after the first round of removing the dust, a very mild soapy water will help, using another pair of gloves.
I have a light very similar to yours, minus the crown. I just noticed TODAY that it needs cleaning and was not looking forward to it, and wondered how to do it. Thank you for sharing.
So smart. Totally trying this as I have an antique bronze and crystal chandelier and I’m pretty sure I don’t want to spray the bronze with the acid in vinegar.
Our Great Room has 4 - 52x60 chandeliers in it, on lifts. we use plain water on one glove, dry on the other. Do you have an easy (easier) tip on cleaning the strands?
If your crystals plastic or acrylic's - than you are right with what your saying - but mine are real crystals, so it is the same as if you are cleaning your mirrors and my lamp sparkles as my mirror, or do you clean your mirrors with soap & water ????????
@@JohnBabyface Not so - Windex will corrode and etch the crystals over time - check with any fine antique dealer. With cheap glass, go ahead and use your Windex. Soap and water is what is recommended and then rinsed with clear water. My crystals are Swarovski vintage and wouldn't use Windex for anything in my home!!! For my mirrors, I use a magic cloth that is only rinsed in water and works amazingly!!!
Great tip thanks. But you do waffle on lol. Showing those English skills proudly you speak English very well. Now you just need to learn to shorten it down but this is the best video ive found so far. I cant stand all these silent videos lazy foreigners try to litter RU-vid with. I appreciate English being spoken when the title to a video is in English so thank you very much for that. Not click baiting and i will defo be buying some cleaning gloves thanks to you. German initiative, brilliance as always.
