There are a lot of these prickly pears growing on the sides of the roads and in people's yards here in GA. Some get very large and get covered in these purple fruits.

Great video. I subscribed. I purchased a J2 last year (my first juicer ever) and have really enjoyed it. I live in Tucson and there are prickly pear cactus all over the place and I'm going to make your recipe with the Jicama. I've always enjoyed Jicama when I've had it but never actually bought it or knew much about it other that it's a root vegetable.

I have a spacious shoot John in the fridge that I store my juice in where spacewise it would work better if I could lay the drawers down on their sides. are you aware of any problems that this might cause with contamination from the materials in the metal vacuum lids?
I prefer the store upright. I am concerned if the lid looses the vacuum and you store on the side, the juice will leak all over. I dont use trim rings on my lids, so I can check them to ensure they are all still holding vacuum.
Thanks John! I grow these here in FL. How would you prep the cactus fruits? Do you burn off the prickles/needles/spines? Or could you toss them into the Nama J2 with gloves on and let the juicer separate them out?

The REV830 should also be able to make this recipe. Its important to ensure you put in the jicama that can prevent vertical juicers from clogging with the hard cactus fruit seeds.

I'm curious John, any thoughts on the J2 versus vacuum juicing in the area of nutrition? before I consider adding a J2 to my arsenal, I'm curious about the nutrition differential. I also own an Omega 843 that I pretty much use for carrots and beats these days.
Vacuum Juicing hands down makes a higher level of nutrition for two reasons: the blender breaks open cell walls more effectively than the J2 and they are broken open in an oxygen deprived container, so less oxidation occurs, which lessens nutrients. The vsj843 and j2 make the "same quality" juice. See my video J2 vs vsj843 for more info.
Depends how you define best. At idscountjuicers, we only offer 3 vacuum blender solutions: 1. dynapro, 2.. kuvings and 3. biochef. Of the three, I would choose the dynapro.
I lost 60 lbs since getting off juice and going carnivore. Insulin resistance gone, autoimmune issues gone. Testosterone through the roof. I still come here to see what John is up to.
@@Witcherworks no. Sorry to disappoint. I was doing nothing but meat and juice and fruit and veg then dropped the plants. No change to exercise. It was really hard for me to accept being an ex raw vegan but all the weight I could never lose fell off in months.
