Alternative tipp for this trophy: You can pause the game in single player mode and STILL see the arrows! Use this to give yourself some time and plan your moves. I got my 3 Minute record like this.
I play on PC (Steam). I have a little over 50hrs attempted on this minigame just for this achievement, my best is 2:28 solo. I gave up many years ago but it still haunts me as the hardest achievement I've ever tried to go for, and still can't get, lol.. mainly because there's actually no "skill" to it, it's just bull crap luck.. :c It should be replaced by, "Collect all the weapons in the game." That's actually PART of the game. :/
I feel for you bro, it was real tough. I got very lucky with my panicked spins of the analogue stick. It saved me and kept me alive long enough. Like you say luck plays a big factor. Hope you try again and get it though mate
In case anyone is still watching and wondering how to beat this...and they don’t mind fudging it a bit... So I checked a few places and found a few different possible solutions but a lot kept saying you needed to be online or had another stipulation. Well, I JUST got the trophy and all I did was grab 4 controllers, start the game under the profile you need the trophy for, start the BOB match under local multiplayer, when you are on player select, join as the profile you need the trophy for, then join for a second player, then third, then back out for your trophy person, let player 4 join (They’ll become player 1), then join trophy player again (they are now player 4), and start the match. You have to get 1 of the 2 ice maps. Player 4 will always spawn on some ice - that is a glitch spot. Pause immediately as the trophy player, then LOG OUT of the other controllers. Don’t exit or anything, just hold the PS button down, go to power, then log out. Do that for the 3 extra players. When you go back to the game, all that is left is your trophy player (player 4 on the ice) and you’re good to go. Wait until 2:30, not moving at all, and boom. Trophy. I hate fudging trophies, but sometimes it’s just not worth the annoyance of getting it legitimately. I got to 2 minutes 11 seconds way too many times before giving up. Lol. I really hate forced trophies like this... Back off Barbarian would have been a fine gamemode in an otherwise fantastic game if it wasn't for this trophy/achievement being forced into it; now I have to play this annoying, somewhat rng based minigame until I crack 2:30, which is quite simply a pain.

I got all of the achievements on the Xbox 360 version. You can boost the win 40 ranked online games if you can find a partner. Maybe make a session on TrueAchievements. There is also a method for getting 40 ranked wins really fast on Xbox One. This back off barbarian achievement seems the most difficult.
