Really great tips! We are 100% RCI right now, but plan to switch over to Celebrity in a few years. Love the credit card tip! With RCI, we have yet to score a military discount, but maybe it's just more commonly offered on Celebrity. Thanks!!!
Love Celebrity, but sadly a few of your tips do not apply to cruises booked in the UK. Once we book that's the price we pay, no refund or credit if the price goes down later. The captains club benefits are good though and Elite isn't too difficult to reach.
We’ve booked for march , I’m confused about the tipping process, we prefer to tip ourselves for good service but here we don’t seem to have that option as it seems we are going to be charged for tips no matter what service we get , good or bad. ?
Comments: 1) Our experience as budget travelers is that the sweet spot on getting the best deals on Celebrity is about 6-8 months before the cruise. On March 30th, we booked a 9 day Vancouver - Honolulu cruise for $746 including taxes and fees. By July 1st, the cheapest available fare was $1350. In the past week, it had dropped to $805. 2) You can also pick up a $100 OBC for owning 100 shares of RCI stock. 3) I like the level of service and food on Celebrity. However, I really do not see any significant difference between Celebrity versus HAL and Princess. And before I would spend the $$$s on the Edge class ships in Celebrity, I would spend the money on Azamara or Windstar which offer some really great destination cruises at prices similar to what you would pay on the Edge class or Icon of the Seas.
@CruiseBlogGuide thank you. The website is specifically designed around Disney. Maybe the company can be more specific on Cruise deals , not only Disney cruises in the menu.
