That has got to be one of the nicest-looking fence pickets I've seen. I've done a fair amount of building with cedar fence pickets. The thickness varies significantly, as does the width. The warping is also a factor. I think it's probably important to clean the table saw blade regularly if you do a lot of building with this kind of material, too. I've noticed that I spend a lot of time sanding these fence pickets, since some are quite rough. I've watched your excellent sanding tutorial. Any tips for making the sanding process more efficient?
Run the fence picket through a thickness planer first, it'll clean it up real fast, if you don't have a thickness planer, a hand plane or electric hand plane would also work but it'll take more time of course
Anika one small request. Can you break projects which can be used based on each power tool. Eg Projects only with Zigsaw Mitre saw Circular saw Table saw Projects with combination tools Zigsaw and Mitre saw Zigsaw and Circular saw Zigsaw and Table saw. Finishing Only with Router Only with Stain Only with Paint. In this way beginners can choose projects based on their access to a particular power tool. Best wishes. Keep us inspiring Keep us working.
