I went to a party at Raleigh Studios in LA where Eaten Alive was shot and all I could think about was "this was where Death Trap was shot!" (Death Trap being the infamous UK video nasty title of the film). I love the atmosphere of this film, but I wished they'd done a better job with the crocodile. Damn thing looks like an oversized bath toy...
I was 9 years old when my stupid father took me to see this movie. NOT COOL. But it as the genre goes fun and entertaining for it's time. We just did a "Small Town Murder" documentary. It's very dark... Cheers.
Listen to the DVD commentary. Brand had a screw loose when they shot this. I can't remember which actress it was, but in the commentary one of the cast explain going to visit him one evening and Brand going crazy, leading to her escaping and driving off, never to see him again. Sounded like he was maybe disturbed by his WWII experiences (he was a highly decorated vet and saw plenty of action). On set he would sometimes zone-out and disappear into his own little world. Can't remember if he had any run-ins with Englund, but they did have quite a few scenes together. The commentary is well worth a listen and features quite a few of the cast and crew.
