Powdered sugar is super Cajun. Also super grandmomy. She always put powdered sugar on my French toast. It’s so little it doesn’t add much sugar but it adds and makes you feel tonssssss of love 💕💕💕

We really only used a little salt and pepper, garlic powder and onion powder, but those mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, asparagus, etc. I miss. And, the prawns with what my sister would rename as "horse sause" accompanied with cocktail sauce as an appetizer and more. Yeah, those were great times!
my family comes from new orleans, and even though I was born & raised in California, I grew up having that crystal louisiana hot sauce in all of my family recipes (red beans & rice, butter beans, green beans)!
if you liked that Crystal hot sauce you should be able to find it in the grocery store or at Walmart or Target. It's pretty popular and sold all over I think. If it's not in CA you can get it on Amazon. I got some great sauce for chicken that they sell in Hawaii on Amazon called World Market Hawaii's Famous Huli-Huli Sauce - Hawaiian BBQ Sauce - Meat Rub BBQ Marinade Sauce and Steak Seasoning. It's really good but on the sweet side.

You guys should go to DeBoer Bakkerij, its in Holland, MI. But you have to go to the one on the Northside, it's the original store. Its all homemade, its the best brunch place there that's near the lake. Its kinda busy, but you can make reservations. Off topic, but there's this ice cream stand called Captain Sundaes, I believe if I remember correctly, its across the street from DeBoers, its an original store. Its only open seasonly, so you have to go during the summer and close the fall. Its also a busy store. But I promise you its the best thing ever!

I’m from Portland and no other breakfast spot will beat screen door. If you like biscuits though give pine street biscuits a try in Portland as well. Literally make anything in a biscuit lol

You guys should come to Enumclaw Washington and try a couple restaurants called the Mint, Rainer bar and grill, the kettle, the krain. I’ve never seen these places anywhere else. The Mac and cheese all the burgers are all amazing at the mint, the burgers at the Rainier are off the walls filled with flavor and the mussels/oysters are really good I get them a lot , the kettle the scrambles are everyone’s favorite same with the blueberrie muffins and the cinnamon muffins the muffins are homemade and the owner works there and the Karin the clam chowder is pretty damn good but the fish sticks better. I recommend getting a couple things from each place
You probably didn't see it when you were in New Orleans, but believe it or not, the powdered sugar is prevalent in Southern Louisiana breakfasts. At least the part that I'm from and have been to.

I was going to say that too.. south of san diego, on the tijuana border there is a Columbian spot that is soooo good. has about 3 tables inside, very small, and in a rough neighborhood but the food is more than worth it.
