Eating at The Worst Reviewed Restaurant in Los Angeles (basically in my zip code because LA is like a continent IRL) and unfortunately it's pizza which is my favorite FOOD GROUP (next to the cheeseburger food group). Anyway, thanks to @darianysantana for coming fresh off of her Food Network show to steep to the lowest of lows with me.
Also, I know I am a few months behind on this trend but this video has been sitting in my hard drive because I've been too slammed with other projects to edit it so BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!

The table doesn’t hold the slices together(the legs only touch 3 pieces), it is used to prevent the top of the box from dipping onto the pizza

This video is great, but I wouldn't say do more lowest rated restaurant videos. This one was great, but others I've watched just seem sad and gross. Maybe do the opposite and have her take you to best pizza in Los Angeles.

Just an FYI I worked at papa johns and dominos for a total of 8 years between the two and gloves are not used to make pizza, obviously you are supposed to wash your hands before you touch the food but because the food is being cooked after you touch it any germs are killed in the process and it isn’t being touched afterwards, and also if you are actually making the dough it is IMPOSSIBLE to do while wearing gloves(trust me I’ve tried lol) whereas unlike a fast food place, they are working with food that has already been cooked so they have to use gloves because it’s not being heated up afterwards so any germs would be passed on to the consumer ❤️❤️

for gloves- the law says you only need to wear gloves for food you wont cook again, so the health department would be fine with her putting toppings on the pizza without gloves because its getting cooked again!

It’s Pizza Loca isn’t, I can tell by the table and the cash promo. I personally go to those $5 pizza chains all the time. I know what Im about to get for the price. It’s fast, easy and cheap.

The whole determining upcharge for credit card transactions: Most companies take 2-5% of every CC transaction + $0.10-$0.75 (these are ranges based what I've seen) So some companies might use a flat rate for every order or have it calculated into the system to figure it out for them. Mostly so they can make back what companies charge them in fees

I work in pizza, we only wear gloves for ready to eat food. Pizzas don’t require gloves because they are sent through a 500 degree oven for almost 7 mins.

hi erin! I just wanna say that I worked in a very famous pizza restaurant before and we never used gloves because we made everything at plane sight of the costumer ... also grabbing pepperoni with gloves is hell

The crime in the area is not a stereotype. I live near there and I get the community crime reports. There is gang violence everywhere. Someone approached my car in this area yesterday with a stick in his hand. Also, I saw a man punch a woman over $5 in a parking lot yesterday. Two men were shirtless in my street punching each other last week. Helicopters are constantly circling my house. It's not a good area and it's not prejudice to walk down the street and be concerned for your safety.

@@ErinRobinson You’re not the only one who lives in the area. Being an LA native and living in the area for a few years myself, I’m very familiar with crime statistics. But please, let’s be honest, because your over-exaggerations throughout the video are excessive and unnecessary: - “It is in South Central **cringe**” Your prejudgement of the restaurant came directly from its location and your associations with it before you’d ever stepped foot in the restaurant, even seen it with your own eyes, OR read a review. - To be *aware* that you’re walking down the street with an expensive camera and purse is one thing, but to point this out in the video alludes to your fear of the people in this neighborhood, playing into stereotypes and showing your bias. The prejudgments you show us throughout the video are worn out, but I now see that it’s probably because you’ve been closed off to any prior discussions of the racial undertones seeping through the facade you’re trying to hide behind. Maybe you’ve convinced yourself that your genuine intentions are enough to cover up the stench of racial and socioeconomic bias, but we aren’t all fooled. I’ve seen many of your videos and have enjoyed your food adventures, but I was disappointed to see this tired trope from a RU-vidr whose content I enjoyed; especially when the content of the video didn’t even have to touch on your fear of this neighborhood.

@@ErinRobinson This! Is why gentrification is a problem. Transplants move into or near what they consider "bad neighborhoods" but continue to hold these type of stereotypes about the community. Instead of investing themselves in their new neighbors and community they fear the very people they live next to. South Central is a diverse area that actually has a variety of socioeconomic and racial communities. If you want a homogenous what you consider "safe" area then move to those places and don't treat your neighbors as if they're all criminals. @lauren devaughn I greatly appreciate you taking the time to explain this! The pizza table is actually to support the box, specifically with large orders so that the pizzas dont get crushed. I work at dominos down in georgia and our pizza tables are that shape.

Hmmmm. Soooo, I once read that the reason so many fast foods are painted red and yellow is because they’re colors that make you kinda anxious or maybe uneasy. Basically it’s to keep you from wanting to relax and chill in the restaurant. Obviously they want you in and out since it’s “fast” food Also, I was always under the impression that those “little tables” were to keep the lid from smashing down on top of the pizza (when stacking them) so as not to ruin the toppings/cheese. Perhaps each are a combination of both! Can anyone more knowledgeable weigh in, please? 😬

I LOVE all of your content but I think it would be interesting to go to a restaurant with the most polarized reviews of like 1 or 5 and or the one with the oddest comments, like the comments that make someone think " why did this need to be mentioned? Or why did someone go this far out of their way to comment this?"

I don't know anything about this place, but it legit looks like an old pizza hut that couldn't afford the licensing fees so rather than keep the logo, they repainted the restaurant, created their own name, and still serve frozen pizza hut products that they continue to buy from pizza hut. It's just a pizza hut without the pizza hut logo.

Keep in mind that the people who leave horrible reviews probabbblllyy have the same attitude than the workers they always claim have. You get what you give out- you come in whining and complaining, they’re gonna probably treat you that way. And that’s for ANY service or industry. I don’t usually take reviews to heart unless there are more bad than good. Because people write the bad ones when they are in the moment and upset. But like you said, you’re getting the quality you pay for. Although Little Caesars is pretty good for $5 lol

The card fee depends on their merchant. The business has to pay a percentage or flat rate per card per transaction. So the $0.45 charge is probably their merchant fee. However, if you are using a debit card over a credit card they are not necessarily supposed to charge you that fee.

I was just curious which chain it was. I've never heard of it. It's a super rough neighborhood. I found the super sassy review too 😅 Most food prep people don't wear gloves. People that are wearing gloves are way more likely to cross contaminate food. I had to do a super long food prep course.
