Yeah from a COA and I believe Oxford University if I'm correct it's been quite sometime. I did some research on it all years ago and I loved it. The COA I found was awesome and it looked beautiful with fortis est veristas on it with nice design work and colours.
A metallic taste with fish means it's spoiled & leads to a food poisoning known as scombroid. Doesn't always happen of course, but the metal taste is first warning sign....and it feels similar to when you get shellfish poisoning (kinda like your insides are coming outside & death seems like a better alternative).
"and it feels similar to when you get shellfish poisoning (kinda like your insides are coming outside & death seems like a better alternative)." - I know this feeling & I thought death was knocking on my door. I was throwing up so much and so hard that i broke the blood vessels in my tongue and face. The doctors had no clue what was wrong. I had ate one piece of uncooked calamari on accident. The Worst vomiting experience in my life.
Dude some words you don't want to hear in a sentence. Worst, strange smell, horrible taste, and sushi. That is a recipe that will not end well for anyone...
Hahaha!!!! your profile pic made me think I had an eye lash on my phone and I could't get the bloody thing off, then when it moved with the scroll I realised!!!!
Damn!!! Raw fish... REALLY?! Perhaps I'm screwed up, PERSONALLY, TWO THINGS THAT MAY BE EATEN RAW... FRUIT IS ONE, AND IF YOU'RE AN ADULT, YOU KNOW WHAT THE OTHER IS!!!! Just saying...
I get so nervous when y'all go to the "worst" restaurants, esp the ones involving raw fish or seafood cuz i'm so scared that you'll get bad food poisoning. My friend wound up in the hospital for 3 days eating at a red lobster. sushi... raw fish... i feel that could be so bad in the foodbourne illness department. Glad you are alive to upload!!!
You are taking a risk when eating seafood. Eating raw fish takes the risk up to another level. Eating raw fish at a bad restaurant, you are risking your life for the sense of adventure. I love watching these videos, trust your instincts and your gut.
ate at an expensive seafood restaurant in San Francisco once. The food tasted awful, but I paid 200 on a meal. When I asked the host about the food, she said "I would tell you if I could". Love from Detroit
I love love videos like these, thanks for dinner an ur honesty lol cause that's exactly wat it feels like I'm rite across the table from you..love ya Joel keep up the awesome work my friend!
I always thought you had good taste and now you are doing us a service with your honest evaluation of this place. Quantity without quality is not fun. For $40 that is a crime. In my expensive area you can indulge in ok sushi at Moonstar for about $20 at lunch. The ribs are good and hot out of the grill. If you are ever in my area I will be happy to treat.
So cute at the end what l am guessing was your Dad saying he careful! I honestly was waiting for you to look in the camera and have to bolt to the bathroom after describing that sushi. Hope you were ok. Also congrats on your degree!! Love from Maine ❤️
Joel you are way better than me that first taste of something being off i would have been out of there i wouldn't hope you didn't get sick thanks for sharing my friend and CONGRATULATIONS🎓🎓🎓🎓
Looking good in your gown. Congratulations with your masters! Awesome your parents are so proud. Hope life brings you all the happiness you deserve. You are inspirational Joel!!
I’m late to the party lol, but CONGRATS ON YOUR MASTERS, JOEL!!’ You can never have too much education, whether that’s in school or life! And your parents are too cute!! 🥰
I would have stopped eating after I spoke with the Manager and either would ask for my money back or a discount for not eating my share of sushi. Congratulations on getting your Masters! 😊
Hey Joel! No doubt this sushi must be really awful. I fully trust your words. Hoping you’re ok after this meal 😂 And Congratulations!! Looks like you had lots of fun.
Hey Joel, love your videos. You definitely deserve 1 million subscribers! You should check out Big Tuna and East in St. Catharines. The salmon quality at Big Tuna is very fresh and the atmosphere and food at East is amazing. Also Wind and East are owned by the same company.
Ohhh noooo - I’ve been to that one on upper James (few years back) wasn’t a horrible experience though thankfully - you should try august 8 close to the linc on upper James they’ve got really tasty sushi (in my experience) - thanks for the review I won’t be going back to spring any time soon 😂
I really really hope you didn’t get sick from that. Usually if sushi doesn’t taste right that means it isn’t fresh I would say. Glad we got your honest opinion on that restaurant. Maybe they can do something about it when getting reviews like yours. You rock Joel
Fantastic way to end the video.. that's such a accomplishment to get your master's degree.. Good for you!! Best wishes, for all you will surely succeed in for your future.. take care....
My experience with a bad oyster darn near killed me. I should have spit it out when I realized that it made my tongue slightly tingle. But I was at a large fancy dinner with my friends and figured if they were eating them then I was just being silly. So, I swallowed. And that was the last time anything went in that direction for a week. I passed out from dehydration Many times over the next several days. I.V. Fluids saved me. Please don’t take chances. Having ones rectum fall out will teach you that ! 💩🤮🤢
So I live in Phoenix, Arizona. No ocean basically equates to bad quality seafood as its imported and usually frozen or just generally not fresh. I went to one of those revolving sushi bars once. It's super easy to tell bad quality with salmon. It tasted like it came out of an aquarium tank, and not the ocean. I have no other way of explaining it. Fresh sushi should not be chewy and should not smell like fish, which is ironic because it is in fact fish, but that's just how it is. Once I actually went to a sushi restaurant and my lips swelled up because it turns out some really crappy places put drops of bleach on the fish to preserve it.
*Gotta share this to all, living in Colombia South America, NEVER but NEVER eat Sushi at any mall, to which I did went food shopping and at the farthest end of the supermarket to the bathroom I got the PAIN in the belly, PRAYING on each step to the head, MADE IT, Joel praying that you made it!* 😖 *Hola Papa and Mama, you produce a fine young man, HUNGARY, but yes fine!*
Wow 😮 Joel you were Describing the Tuna as Metallic and Cleaner Like! I sure hope you never got SICK 🤕 from that Sushi 🍣 Place! The Coconut 🥥 Bar now I would of Loved that too!
I live in a landlocked US state. I stay away from raw seafood being far away from the coast. In my opinion, the freshness goes out the door the farther inland from the ocean (and places do not fly the food in). I wonder if that cleaning product taste was decomposition of the fish. This might be ammonia.
I warm leftover refrigerated tuna in the microwave for my cats and it "Sparks" and" Pops" .. lots of Mercury in tuna.It does the same with all the name brands and Walmart brand.
You should have gone before 3:30 it's around $20 for the all you can eat. I've personally never had a problem eating there and I've gone quite a few times but only during lunch. Never a metallic taste or smell at all. I wonder if it was just a bad night. Glad you didn't get sick! But wow that sucks!
Went to sushi restaurant here in Arizona, ate sushi that tasted like aluminum foil and got horribly sick that same evening. Was only able to get 3 feet from the toilet for no more than 30 seconds at a time. Out both ends at the same time. Only lasted 2 days but damn, I lost 20 pounds.
Joel man.. i know you paid quite a lot to eat at this sushi restaurant.. but once you start realizing that almost everything on the menu tastes "fishy" (pun intended) you shouldn't continue as food poisoning from sushi is really quite horrible.. Happened to me once before and it was awful.. which is why i no longer venture on trying new sushi restaurants and i eat at a very places which i totally trust.. Congrats on your graduation! Hope you'll be able to achieve all that you strive for in your life! All the best!
Sorry to hear the sushi experience wasn't that great. I have only found two sushi places that I really enjoy around where I live. Loved the end of the video, you looked like you were having fun 😊
Bad/off sushi would actually scare me. Raw fish is sketchy enough as it is. I’m amazed you kept going, but understand due to the AYCE leftover rules. You should’ve unleashed angry Hansen and demanded they cover it after you tried the first plate. It must be reaaaaally bad when the pre-packaged dessert is better than the house-made items 😂
If you ever go to Lake Tahoe, CA NEVER eat sushi there, seriously the WORST sushi I’ve ever had. So bad that I almost never at sushi again and I love sushi. Rice was stale, fish was borderline rotten, nothing was fresh. My wife went and threw up in the bathroom our third roll in and we canceled the rest of the rolls we had ordered. Sushi Pier in Lake Tahoe, CA avoid it at ALL COSTS.
Paradise sushi in Northern California is all you can eat! My co-workers swear it's really fresh and delicious. I wouldn't know because I don't eat sushi much..
Unfortunately, a lot of Sushi restaurants use frozen fish, that can be kept in deep freezers for up to a year, and on that note, a lot of the "expensive" fish , like salmon and halibut are actually inferior fish like tilapia, carp or sometimes catfish... color dyed pink and yellow by the distributors and somehow it totally legal...ive read into the sushi business and it can be shady AF...i only eat sushi at reputable sushi houses, where it is prepared within my eyesight, cut from fresh flayed, whole fish
Never swallow metallic tasting sushi. It’s gone bad. Here in japan, a sushi restaurant would get into extreme legal issues if they served “metallic” tasting tuna.
I so appreciate your honest opinion, every opinion matters. But even if I had to pay for it, I would have stopped eating it. Fearing for my health, and unfreash or fake seafood.
In the Hammer eh have you done any challenges here? Do any exist? I don't eat sushi due to bad experience in Jackson Square lol all best thanks for the review.
Congratulations on your Masters!! I just finished mine as well and I sympathize with what’s you had to go through to get it!! As for the nasty tuna, I’ve had shrimp that tasted like bleach. Apparently they put fish through a chemical solution when it’s not very fresh to kill parasites. It’s edible but disgusting.
aww we get to meet the parents :) Congrats on graduation! I would have been so scared to eat something like that with the taste. Surprised you didn't get sick.
Maybe they were accidentally sprayed with window cleaner in the kitchen or something. There are lots if sushi places in Vancouver, but I always made sure to eat at a place that was actually Japanese... Now I don't have that problem ;) Congrats on graduating and riding a griffon!
Great video Joel. Would you be able to head to Arbys and do a meat mountain challenge? Love to see you how many you could eat? Hope you can do it. Cheers from Down Under.
Firstly congratulations on your graduation. If you ever that weird tasting whilst eating just stop and leave. No food is worth ending up and the A&E getting your stomach pumped. I’m loving the videos by the way, they are helping me to lose weight as I’m almost eating them with you but without consuming the calories 🤪🤪
