Your island history is incorrect; I'm sick of the people making comparisons of the Maltese as an English disciples. We are more Italian than any other country. . As both my parents are from the island, we're both proud of the Maltese independents. The British made the Maltese 2nd class citizens whilst they bastardised the isle to the effect of this video. They still believe in ruling the native people. Feel free to make a video of the island, but please respect the locals who don't want any part of the UK's influence.
Thanks for the bashing. Been back since you are now over run with everything but Maltese. The gambling capital of the world due to giving very nice tax incentives and your corrupt politicians getting dodgy back handers.
This is the best one I've seen on RU-vid about Maltese good so far! All content is real Maltese food. So many come up with dishes in their videoes which entirely not Maltese such as Ravioli, which are Italian! Well done!
Great video from a fellow Maltese person :) The Maltese language is a semitic language derived from Arabic and Latin but throughout the years it has incorporated other languages including; English, Italian and French.
@MDG nope! as a Maltese person, the part of the language stems from Arabic and is a Latin or Italian based/influenced island, and most of the language today used Arabic characters words, and pronunciation

Matt, I don't even know how many times I saw the video of your time in Corfu with your family! It worked as a great guide for me last year as I traveled to Corfu and the other Ionian Greek islands. Right now I am starting to organize my trip to Malta, Crete and the Cyclads, and... I ran into you and this awesome video!!!! What a blessing! I can't even tell you how happy I was to find it. As usual your video just flies. It could have been 2 hours long and I would still watch it in absolute delight! All in all, I just wanted to express - all the way from Brazil - how much I enjoy your work!!! ❤ PS: If I may suggest something... go to Rhodes! Rhodes is historically connected to Malta, as the Knights of Saint John were there for many years before going to Malta.
Another brilliant job, mate. The only sad part of this terrific tour was when it ended. I wished it went on and on … Well done. Its time to buy me a ticket! Bravo 👏
You missed our delicious bread! It is called hobz. It's a round loaf of sourdough bread, baked in a wood-fired oven. Every village has the bakeries. They are family-run. But in Valletta, they are in the outskirts. So you didn't run across one. Are you still in Malta?
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 Thank you for the tour of my homeland of Malta 🇲🇹 I am planning a visit in 2023. I will definitely visit these lovely places you have featured 😊
Up to the start of WW2 rabbit that had escaped captivity multiplied and over run the main island of Malta. When Malta was laid siege by the Italian's and Germans during the war, food was scarce and the rabbit was hunted to distinction. There are no rabbits now native to the country and they are band from the island unless killed before delivery for food. Strange when Rabbit is considered a national dish.
Fun fact the name Kinnie was inspired or rather copied from the character played by the late James Withmore in the movie Battleground 1949 .I am quoting my late father-in-law, who worked at Farsons brewery, makers of Kinnie, when it was launched.
@@christopherfernandes4401 That's awesome. It looks like a beautiful place and slightly remote which I like. The cuisine looks great. I would love to visit there someday.
@@beachlife4704 : It was wonderful but there were many tourists from many countries visiting. If you like to go off the beaten path then you will love Gozo only a short ferry ride from Valletta, Malta to Gozo. But for history, beautiful churches, bars and restaurants, Malta has everything but is crowded.
Malta does seem beautiful my nanny (step grandma) was from Malta 🇲🇹 my stepdad made a really nice pork and potato dish I forgot the name of but it was so good the pork fell off the bone and the potatoes when they weren’t too hot melted in your mouth
Well first and foremost well done on video from Maltese Aussie living in Spain Maltese language is mixed with French Arab and Italian keep up good work and if you ever be at in Galicia I show ya around take care btw making miss the patizzi and kinnie most of all the rabbit 😔 😊🤗✌️
Yes you made me miss Malta. I was there with my son in October and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I am Maltese born but spent most of my life in Ontario Canada. Besides the delicious food Malta is chock-full of amazing history and many sites to see in joy. Carrie.
Watching your video in malta is such a wonderful and i love it. It makes me feel like i am there also travelling. By any chance your in malta sir.. did you notice there's a job there that i can work? I am from philippines.♥ More videos to upload♥
Lovely video. But abstain from saying that curry or fish is a nasty smell. You can say overpowering or lingering smells. Don't take in the wrong way. Your videos are amazing
Your videos are great Matt, your style is so relaxed, we love Malta our favourite destination, been all seasons of the year, but Christmas in Malta, is a must for us, 6 weeks in Malta booked! ( So far!) Love Maltese food,,.
always enjoy your videos but they always make me hungry lol you get to visit these great places but you also get to try some amazing food, i'm so jealous lol
I am coming soon to Malta as a student for 6 months. Man I am so looking forward to discover this beautiful Island, the culture and meet as many locals as possible :) Thanks for this great video
when i was in Malta a few weeks ago, i keep smelling this sweet scent used by men in Valletta. It smelled like citrus and floral, with some hints of musk and leather. most men used this, not sure if it is an aftershave or a perfume. does anyone know what it is?
Great country, so much to experience and to see. Don´t get me wrong, but why then filming so many selfies? Maybe time to let the country speak a little bit more for itself, just an idea - good luck!
Because how else do i explain what you are seeing? if you just want to see a montage of footage of the place without any context, go to google images, or just visit malta yourself...? This video is for people interesting in LEARNING about the food from Malta, so I always include a balance of information where I tell you what it is we are eating, and show you the food itself...
