+Mr Lightning Exactly, it's Belgian fries, but the amount of mayonaise/frites-sauce is Dutch. The Belgians typically don't drown their fries in Mayo, do they?
@@bruh-dh9bl Bitter? In the Netherlands we don't typically eat the sour mayonnaise like they have in Germany or France. Our mayonnaise is sweeter, but it's more likely they serve you fritessaus (fries sauce) which is mayonnaise-like, but has only about 35% of the oil used in real mayonnaise. I can't remember any sauce being bitter here and I have been eating fries for decades. Bitter tastes likely comes from oxidated fat/oil where the fries have been fried in or maybe you had fries with the potato skins still on (luie wijven friet/boerenfriet), because that has a little bitter taste.
The fries here are VERY bad. There must be at least a few hundred places in Amsterdam with much better fries. I live in the center of Amsterdam and like good fries. This is not the place for it. That sign "Voted no 1" must be a lie. There have been some rankings and this place never got a good ranking. This is just to fool the very stupid tourist who have no idea what good fries are. People who claim the fries at this place are good have no idea what is good.
@@karnkraftverk I live in the next street. I am quite aware about quality of fries of many vendors in Amsterdam. So your assumption about me is completely wrong. You are clearly not knowledgeable about fries. And this vendor tells a blatant lie with their advertising.
