Mpek-mpek or empek-empek is an Indonesian food from Palembang, Indonesia. It is often made from fish and tapioca. Mpek-empek is often served with yellow noodles and a dark, rich sweet and sour sauce.
The Mpek-mpek we ate had an egg in it and one had a hotdog. The sauce made all the difference in the world on how it tested. Not that it was bad without it but is was like 99% better with it.
