10/10 to this dude for not going "Ewwwwwwwwww" at anything. He respected everything they did and joined in with everything they did without missing a beat.
A gracious guest I thought . He came bearing gifts . He was invited on the hunt which is an honour then 'broke bread ' with them so generous hosts as well .
Going into a situation like this where they're opening up to him and sharing their culture and food, and saying "ewww" would be such a pathetic thing to do lol. You have to be completely grateful or they're not going to want visitors again. It's like going to your mother-in-law's place and talking shit about the cooking - you would not be welcomed back
One of the best episodes. I live in West Malaysia and I don't even know anything about these people. I know tribal life still exist in Borneo and the islands surrounding it, but to document them in HD video, not many of that is ever done. Especially in a light hearted setting way Sonny does. Just well done. I prefer these obscure tribal food stuff from this channel. Eating clay is a new information I know now. And I love how he tries everything. More of these please. Borneo and it's surrounding islands is still mostly unexplored. It's thick jungles and terrains modern vehicles just can't operate on. Most Malaysians, Indonesians, Singaporeans don't know anything about it, including me. It's fascinating. I've been on a ancient Malayan rabbit hole recently. Reading and watching lots of Srivijayan dynasty stuff. And this video kinda shows how life was before Srivijaya. Extremely fascinated stuff.
@@brucecolemancfo5087 I live in Marseille, South France, where i own a luxury appartement on the mediterranean coast, eat like an Emperor and relax under the sun, but you right livin in the dark Scotland and eatin fish n ships would be so much more fun lol
You have a great point, I love the way he communicates and acts and reacts to the food and their way of living. He is by far one of the greatest RU-vidrs I've come across this weekend.
I mean, its common sense.... its not unique or anything. Mark Wiens said that if he had an unpleasant experience with any particular restaurant/food, he just wouldn't review it instead of making a negative review video. To him, it could be a one-off experience thing. Might be good to others but not for him.
It’s crazy to think that there were people living in remote jungles 40 years ago that literally thought they were alone in the world. That sounds kinda nice to be honest🤷🏻♂️
in Brazil, we still have some tribes that never saw another foreign people and others that the chief choose not to share the existence of civilization and die with this secret. ( btw sorry about my english)
I was born in Indonesia,i've lived for fourteen years,I never imagined to see the things that you experienced.you are so lucky. Please carry the message to the world, there are still heaven in this world
I'm Indonesian, In different city, I'm not sure I can adapt like this guy. I love how he is so respectful and so adaptable. love this channel Fyi : It's Sagu
Man before he heard that he was skeptical he got an OK from the other tribal members to visit white man wants to come to your home and he has lots of cigarettes ! Tribal chief” well come on in get your self something cool to drink” 🍹😅
Only Sonny and the Best Ever Food Review Crew can make a video about tribes and translate it in a way no other show could ever do with 10 times the budget. Absolutely beautiful work.
His respect for every culture he experienced is very admirable and i don’t see this often with tourists/travelers. You deserve everything kind your life has in store for you man, greetings from Indonesia
As Indonesian I wanna say: Actually the most isolated tribe is the blue eyes tribes in Molucca. They have brown skin but with blue eyes. Even Indonesian rarely see them. And many misterious tribes that probably exist out there in hidden islands
The Austro-Melanesian people of Buton Island. Similar Non-European mutations to the Melanesians which cause some to have blonde hair. I know of another ethnic group in Oceania that have bright red hair, some intermixed with the Maori of New Zealand, the Urukehu people to be exact.
@Matias D.C www.google.com/amp/s/sea.mashable.com/culture/12666/people-in-this-indonesian-tribe-have-dazzling-blue-eyes-wait-but-how%3famp=1 instead of saying lies why wont u try to find out by ur self?
I'm from Indonesia. I am surprised by you. how can you adapt to them so easily. even though they are very sensitive to outsiders. You are extraordinary
The video clearly said that after they were made aware of other people within the last 40 years they have been exposed to outside life. The people taking them there are coming from the. it hence they are already mixing with the modern lifestyle
Sorry . Im from indonesia . My englishnvery bad. But i want u know, this from papua . Who man talk with english this is soldier from city for translate him . Because people on this place can speak indonesia language and english
@@shafana7753 Saya pkir yang kamu maksd mereka tidak bisa bahasa Indo dan Inggris? (I think what you mean are they can't talk indonesian and english?) Sy juga tinggal di Indo. Satu pulau sama mereka di Papua. Setau saya mmg mereka tdk bisa bahasa Indo. Apalagi Inggris. (I'm from Indonesia too. Live on the same island as them. What I know is they can't talk Indonesian. Neither English)
They aren't that isolated to be honest... the indonesian government tells them not to wear clothes or speak indonesian when white visitors show up lol.
The editor really loved that shot of the boot in the mud :D, also I find it funny a pack of ciggarettes seems to be a universal peace offering even to a remote tribe in the jungle
This is not only food review its become discovery channel..i think much more better.. kept it up bro. Greetings from Philippines...take care on your next discovery... Wow... tnx for the like.. un expected😀😀😀
Rachael stylinson I sooooo didn’t like how he offered him cigs even if it was kind of a joke...no regard for their health but they are willing to share the way they live 🤔😒
@@AngieMusicArt the shit we eat is almost as bad as ciggerettes...fucking mcdonalds. Donuts. That shit would give us diabetes. I bet no tribe member ever got diabetes in their life. It only exists in the modern world.
Thank you for visited Indonesia, even now I m French's citizen but I will never forget my homeland Indonesia. To watch this episode about Indonesia, gave me a lot of emotion..... Merci encore ❤️❤️❤️
Do most of them speak English? Probably not. If they are one of the most isolated tribes like the video says then the majority of them probably only know their own language fluently. They probably also didn't feel comfortable talking to a camera or talking in front of a camera. But yeah go ahead and be negative on a very interesting and informative video. Dumbass.
@@villiantwo i mean he wouldn’t put so much effort, patience and money and let himself go through troubles, if he never intended to try out new things and explore ; D
Another beautiful content. 48 years I spend my life in Papua, but can't bring Papua to the world like you do Sonny. Thank you for make my dream come true. God bless you and your team.
@@rudolfwisteria2475 do u even know what he was talking about dipshit? Itu dibagi compliment kepada sonny. Tapi itu negatif bagi kamu. If u dont understand dont comment. Bodoh
You got to recognize the passion of this guy and his team. Every videos I watched, you can really see how he’s open to every culture and that’s just beautiful. Keep on reviewing food for us. You do not just entertain us but you also inspire us to be kind, and flexible like you. Thank you for letting us see different kinds of food around the world! God Bless! More food to review!
@Loiza Suan around 70% of the people here in indonesia smoke. which mean atleast 187 million on the population smoke, that is why cigarettes here are one of the most cheapest in the world since they only cost 1-2$ for a pack.
That's true Over 70% of Indonesian people smoke No matter what gender or ages we usually start smoke from junior high school. Cause we sold it freely and cheap One pack it just cost about 1-2 dollars And we can even bought one piece of cigarette in the nearest traditional small market.
@@tbnprathades1631 That is a lot of smokers. Isn't almost 90% of the population of Indonesia Muslim? Is it common to see non-practicing/secular Muslims that would smoke? Genuinely curious, no disrespect.
I'm glad that this is the most popular video of his channel, it's very informative and it's a good tool to introduce one of many Indonesian's unique native cultures to more people around the world. Props to all efforts he put throughout the procces of filming this video! 🇮🇩❤
@@nonyabizness.original Tobacco is an indigenous crop to Papua they've been growing it and smoking it most likely while white people were still living in caves. Papuan Agriculture was established 7,000 years ago rivalling that of the advent of agriculture in the Fertile Crescent and China. Don't try your sjw stuff here.
after dani tribe, now tree people of korowai... thank you sonny for bring our family from papua to the top of the world... Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.. love from Manado City
As a person who came from an African village, I was salivating when they where eating that combination. I have ate both roast edible worm and insect before. I know how it tastes. There's nothing like it. You can buy roasted edible worms along Nigerian roads at heavy traffic points while you travel.
My uncle was a scientist and spent many years of his life studying papua new Guiana and he made many books about the place and all the money he made off the books went straight to them and help many tribes in the place.
Still in the same island (papua island) but this video taken in western part of papua island, which is part of Indonesia Many people still confuse about it. They think "papua" is papua new guinea at all
@@hatingontruth9118 Isolation also means just far from western civilization or isolated in a secluded rainforest area. There are still small stores scattered throughout. So that is why they need money.
Those tribes become the undiscovered people. Isolated means they are very remote and live far away from towns and cities and shops and all. And they have been discovered and visited by outsiders 🙄
@@thirstiestvillager9233 yeah must suck if you became addicted to nicotin at some point but can't go to the store to get a pack. Everyone who smokes and unexpectedly ran out at night knows the feeling
@@DevinJuularValentine Right? I thought he was joking at first. And then my stomach turned with what a disturbing “gift” to give. It’s like “Hi! Nice to meet you… I come bearing an addictive package of poison, cancer and tar for your lungs/blood!” Marlboro Reds are one of the worst kinds as well, with how many toxins are added. That was the first kind of cigarettes I started smoking at age 19. I just quit 3 weeks ago after 25 years of smoking, and I wish I never had that first one all those years ago! How evil to introduce cigarettes to these people.
@Xero read history. The only people to trade poison for goods were European colonists. Everyone else in the eastern world traded spices and goods/commodities that didn't poison u. How do you think the us...gained so much indigenous territory. California was stolen from Mexico...all this land was stolen by force and rape
With all the crazy stuff happening in the world, I am really loving your show. I live in the US and have never left the country. Seeing these people living with nature and seeing how they're happy and healthy gives me joy. It makes me want to go live in the woods, which is illegal in many parts of our country. Thank you for all that you guys do!
I love how you intercepted their culture and accepted it at the same time. Instead of puking and being disrespectful of their culture. You embraced it and showed it in a positive light. Their food might not taste as good as ours but it's probably healthier. All natural no preservatives or chemicals. It's probably the way all humans should eat. Props my G. Peace!
The way they opened that tree up to get the bugs out reminds me of the scene when Timon and Pumba introduced witchetty grubs to Simba in the Lion King 😅
What you said towards the end about them being safe when the apocalypse comes was exactly what I was thinking. Your content is truly incredible. Keep up the good work. Greetings from New Zealand.
When the wood was flipped exposing all the bugs and grub, it reminded me of lion king!!! This show is absolutely everything! He deserves a show on The travel channel. The new Andrew zimmern!!!!! Love it!
Those inside the tree we call in Brazil “Turu” and some people eat then, especially in my state 😊 and the coconut tree for us is “palm heart” also delicious 😊
We Indonesian..never visiting them.. We know only from out side Country to resert.and make video.. Anyway..thanks for sharing and uploading this video..
@@iambored678 Bruh the title literally says "Eating with the World’s Most Isolated Tribe!!! The Tree People of Papua, Indonesia!!" quit tryin to correct the man when you're just as stupid as the guy who made the title
Nope , that was a long time ago when most isolated tribe kill strangers . Today , the most isolated tribe asking a lot of money if someone want to visit their island and making video like this one , and trust me it wasnt cheap ! The more isolated , the more price must be paid . Today , everything is just about money , right ? Even the most isolated people know money today . And dont even thing that only the guide asking money , you also must pay the tribe people too , all people in the tribe will ask money . So , today , you dont need guns to come to isolated tribe , just bring your money will do okay .
Indonesia is a continent in itself, very much diverse and very amazing. I want to visit this country and live in those forests for sometime as I am fed up of my current life. Love and Salam from Pakistan. 💖💖💖
Seeing this makes me realize that I got it really good. Like they are eating ferns and bugs and having the time of their lives. Perspective, really enjoy watching these videos to learn
Ofc they can wear Chelsea T-shirts, it won’t change te fact that they live in an isolated place. People who come also can give them clothes, maybe some of the tribes also work in the city and bring back clothes for their relatives. It’s 2021, nothing impossible...
There are tons of fake chelsea t shirts along with other clubs' t shirts. People can donate it to them or just simply buy it in the market and give it to these people. Just chill out dude 😄
I know I shouldn’t, but when they broke the tree and we saw the bugs. I instantly thought of Timon and Pumbaa from the lion king and wanted to start singing Hakuna Matata. 🤷🏾♀️
