i wish to enlighten my western friends that before spoons were invented, in the pre-industrial era, even your fore-fathers used to eat with their hands. Just mentioning.
its not just a method.. we are in Indonesia as well as used hand for eat..eating with hand (as long as the hand is clean) its make food taste more natural and healthy for body..
It's dirty and gross, wtf this is not the stone age and don't said we also came out naked, than will u go out in the nude, this is the modern age no wonder Indians die young
@@bobbylancer4553 Excuse me... its our culture, idk why american people disrespect culture so much. Like we love eating with hands and we wash our hands before eating but wait. Are you using just tissue's to clean after you poop or somethin? Like we people use water and soap and its more clean bruh
Not sure if this is an urban myth or true story. My grandpa told me this. During the British rule in India, a prominent member of Indian Congress was asked to join a big feast in London. While he started to eat with his hands, the Brits mocked at him and said isn't that unhygienic, you should eat with a fork or a spoon? The Indian replied, well anyone can eat with your spoon, but only I can eat with my hand. Epic!
Everyone is so hypocritical though. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. If I'm in India and it's considered gross to eat with my left hand or uncouth to let the food run to my palms, then I won't! But LIKEWISE, if you're in a Western country and it's considered vulgar to eat with your hands, then don't. It's not "stuck up" to consider it bad, its culture. Respect it!
Actually even in India we don't eat with hands outside our homes. Maybe in small very local kind a eateries it's OK but mostly people eat with hands only at home.
We eat it with one hand btw, usually the right one but if it's a Tandoori roti which is usually a little harder to tear than the traditional chapatis, you can use your left hand as well but we limit it's use as much as we can while we are eating.
haha Thanks man. I actually loved India, even though I just saw the deep south. WHen I get time I want to hit Agra, Jaipur etc, spend a bit more time around Kerala, and also head over to explore Sri Lanka.
Bro hands are more hygienic than spoon as we wash hands whenever we eat but we don't wash spoons or we just rub them with towel this doest not kill the pathogens neither wash them away. Eating with hands feels more satisfactory because of the touch receptors on our fingers which are interlink with our gut and brain make the food more delicious. So be proud to be INDIAN aur mast hath se khana enjoy karo .
I would think if you were worried about the "cleanliness" of the restaurant you wouldn't eat there. lol! Your hands touch a lot of things even in a restaurant setting (doors, chairs, menus, money, maybe even other peoples hands)
Ya we do use one hand but people who aren't used it find it difficult.. My Dutch husband now after so many years also still finds it difficult and is a sight to see when he eats with hands. Same for me with chopsticks. I am a sight to see with them hehe
You have written a title in your vedio -eating with own hand is humility!!?? 🙄 I think I have learned a new definition of humility..hope it's correct..
The Indian guy's eating style is very untidy.we put the index finger like the fork and then use thumb middle and ring finger tor tear chapati or puri and others.we hold the food with index middle ring and thumb the push into our mouth with the thumb finger. Our fingers shouldn't go into our mouth.the fingers should look clean.
