I guess I'll be 'that guy'. The symbol on the jerry can is called a Crux Terminatus. It likely isn't a real one (which all include a piece of the Emperor's Armour), but it is the same symbol. Awesome video by the way, it's super cool that you chose to do a different chapter to the first 18!

By the way, Liquitex's transparent Burnt Sienna ink is a reasonably good replacement for the old GW Chestnut ink.

If you want the original paints, you should watch midwinter minis videos about the 2nd edition 40k starter set. The coat darms line of paints are actually the original GW paints rebranded, including the chestnut wash.

@@squids24 Just keep in mind that Coat d'Arms are the GW paints from the early-mid '90s. The inks that most people remember are from the GW range after that, from when they changed paint supplier in 1997-98, and they're apparently quite different to the CdA washes. I've heard rumours that the 3rd edition-era inks were rebottled Winsor and Newton artist's inks, but I've never actually tested that myself.

Ackshually I think you’ll find that the decoration on the gas can is a Skull Cross Thingimawotsit, as seen in book 74 of the Hurdy Gurdy series

What a wonderful job of painting. The Indomitus model is arguably one of the best GW has manufactured. Thanks for sharing. I find painting models intimidating. At some point, I should get over the fear, and just do it. I really want to do my own paint scheme to depict them as the lost 11th Legion.

I think the base is my favorite part of this mini honestly, and that's a tough call since I love me some purple models. The airstrip base is one of the most creative I've seen, the lights really bring it to the next level.

I don't want you hoping for something that isn't going to happen, so I'll let you know that I am going to retire it. That doesn't mean I won't paint a space marine ever again, and that my painting isn't going to be inspired partially by 'eavy metal (it's pretty much woven into the fabric of how I paint), but it's going to how I want to paint them which will likely differ from the team quite a bit.

I think one reason the 'Eavy Metal style utilizes edge highlighting so much is that it shows off the sculpt, rather than being a showcase for the painters skills, and ultimately it's there to sell the models

"People who play Space Marines are scared of products that don't say Games Workshop on them." I feel so called out. I will say I enjoyed branching out to using different products when I got more into the Hobby. They're a decent stepping stone into a much larger world. Experimenting with different paints is great and a lot of fun comes from it.

I know you have done the Black Legion, and that's essentially black armor. But I'd love to see your take on a Raven Guard color scheme. Maybe even a comparison of what you would do as a tabletop ready paint scheme for an army versus the substantial edge highlighting eavy metal look. Great video, I always enjoy watching all the work you put in and there's just enough jokes to keep it fun. Please, never stop.

Good to see Hawk Lords being represented, love their air-superiority and jump tactics. Also, it's a great color scheme when pulled together properly! Representing the 'lesser-known' chapters is great and I think the release of 9th and Indomitus with new Space Marine sculpts will bring out a lot of interest for folks building new armies and delving into those schemes.

So, I've been a fan of your channel of a while now. I've seen this video a few times already. I have been trying to pinpoint where I keep making mistakes and why I don't improve. This video figured out my issue. I rely heavily on washing the entire model using multiple washes for specific colors. Now, I have to tone down on the full wash and just get the colors on and layer up and highlight. Thanks.

The hawklord's were named after an English rock band called hawkwind or the hot wind spaceship. And a novel by Michael moorcock and the characters the band betrayed on stage. The hawklord's were the final version of hawkwind and only released one or two albums.
