Pretty sure the vent tube needs to be in front of the MAF sensor like the stock system otherwise your going to blow oil all over it. The plastic piece inside is to reduce the size from 3" to 2.5 to match the size of the stock diameter for the proper air flow readings. I've been trying to find a cheaper way to make my own but nobody is selling a 2.5 maf tube for gm. Also Federal Trade Commission, notes: “In most cases, using a higher-octane gasoline than your owner’s manual recommends offers absolutely no benefit. It won’t make your car perform better, go faster, get better mileage or run cleaner.”
you installed it wrong, the mass air flow has to be the farthest point from the engine right next to the filter, thats why you set off the engine code, you soaked the mass air flow in oil from the breather
@@projectjwoo running just an open breather isnt a good idea, that introduces unmetered air into the engine, and the computer sees unmetered air as a leak, but yes a catch can is a good idea as long as its piped into the factory air system
Me and my wife just put this same intake on today in the same orientation lol. I haven't gotten to drive it yet as it is a project vehicle and we got tired of the factory intake. Hopefully it does well as yours did.
I got it on the old one when i used a cobalt intake. on camper car1. so far this one has been good, I think it has to do with my filter placement how ever its been hit or miss for owners you can go back to stock and remove the fog light cover and use a K&N drop in.. then you should get a cleaner and less heat built up. we will have intake part 2 soon too. This failed and you don't even know why. You can't vent the valve cover upstream of the MAF. The companies selling this garbage intake set you up for failure. Oil from the crank case will mess up the MAF reading real quick. I designed and 3d printed my own MAF housing and made it use a stock SS filter because oiled filters are trash. 50 miles a day and no codes. The real reason to upgrade the intake is just to get rid of the ridiculous stock setup save make it easier to work on. You live in a beautiful area by the way
