Heres some basic info for anyone who views this. No this fan does not increase hp in fact pending the cars design could reduce performance but don't take my word its been dynoed. A stock airbox is designed to run a car efficiently through its rev range. When you change this by removing the airbox you are changing its perceived throttle response. So simply by adding this and removing your stock box yes you will feel a difference and may notice your rpms change but no that does not translate to more power by the fan. You have changed the volume of air which will change the volume of fuel which will change your rpm range all without adding any boost! This is why people change to CAI. Will your car "act" different sure. Will it dyno better, no. Sorry..

It restricts too much... if you want any type of gain you need to seperate it from the standard intake and run a y-coupling with a CAI on one end and the fan on the other. Also, your going to lose power running too high of an octane on anything not tuned to it.

Not only is he creating an intake restriction with that hair dryer on his intake tube, he's also using hot air from under the hood instead of a cool air charge that comes from outside the engine compartment. I recommend you to use throttle position sensor for switching the super charger and also recommend using two in series besides a cold air intake system bit far away from existing position

That filter makes no difference if your running a stock air intake tube. Them fans really do nothing.

I hate to tell you but that thing most likely isn't working and it's all in your head. That little fan doesn't push out half of the cfm the engine consumes let alone building boost pressure. Real super chargers require allot of power draw to make power. You ever seen a blown drag car in person? There is a reason that belt is 3-4 inches thick. Those have been tested and I even bought on just for shits and giggles. I can tell you right off the bat I would never stick it on a vehicle cause it would just be a restriction. Let alone that peice of $10 China crap breaking apart and costing me an entire engine or rebuild. It's a sales hoax really. Second off from pulling that air box off your also decreasing performance. I see alot people putting those filters on and calling it a cold air intake. The factory filter is designed big enough so the engine can breathe without restriction and often times already pulls cold air from inside the fender. Go ahead say I'm wrong but If you develope a passion like I have you will eventually learn.

I would install high flow brillo pad to stop any foreign materials that might be let loose in the intake tube from the supercharger. You want to position the brillo pad as close to the throttle body blade as possible. I would highly recommend a recessed hyperbulator in line with your MAF as well to keep temps down while piling hot air from the engine compartment. The other downside is how much abuse your engine takes from the increased horsepower. Might want to look at forged internals along with a 298 cam. Air is power brother! Good luck on the build! Also I forgot to mention to install 96lbs/hr fuel injectors. I use 103 octane race fuel in mine. Keep it well saturated with a water/menthol injection system. The brillo pad will help filter it as well.

I don't know much about cars, but I do know enough about thermodynamics to know that a supercharger requires a tremendous amount of energy to do anything useful. The required power output of the compressor (after losses) is the mass flow of the air flow being compressed multiplied with the enthalpy change of the air. Or in equation form: P = m dot * delta h. Say you have a naturally aspirated 2L engine running at 4000 rpm. Thats a flow of 8000 liters a minute, or 133.3 [l/s]. The air density at standard pressure and temperature (101325 [Pa], 288.15 [K], respectively) is 101325/(288.15*287) = 1.225 [kg/m^3]. So it's 163.3 [g/s] (gram / second). Following isentropic (read: ideal) relations the density ratio and temperature ratio relate as (T_2/T_1) = (rho_2/rho_1)^(gamma - 1). Enthalpy is c_p * T, so the change in enthalpy is c_p * T_1((rho_2/rho_1)^(gamma-1) - 1) Now the supercharger is fused at 10A (1:12) or 120W. A good quality electric motor (which you don't have!) has an efficiency of up to 90%. A good quality compressor (which you don't have!) is about 80% efficient in optimum working range. That means you are left with at most 120 * 0.9 * 0.8 = 86.4 W. Now bring everything together: P = m dot * delta h. P = 86.4 [W] m dot = 0.1633 * (rho_2/rho_1) [kg/s] delta h = 1006 * 288.15 * (1 - (rho_2/rho_1)^(1.4 - 1)) [J/(kg K)] 86.4 = 0.1633 * (rho_2/rho_1) * 1006 * 288.15 * ((rho_2/rho_1)^(1.4 - 1)-1) If you solve this for rho_2/rho_1 you will get a density ratio of 1.00455. The density increase directly correlates with the increase in power. So an increase of not even 0.5% in performance. And that is assuming you are getting the most out of your setup. The performance increase you measured has to be a placebo or due to other causes than the supercharger, because the physics doesn't add up. Now if you do this calculation for a 10-20% performance increase you will see that you will need multiple kilowatts of power to generate enough boost for even a moderate size engine. That simply isn't doable with a standard car battery, but would require a lot of expensive batteries or ultracaps. At that point a conventional (mechanically driven) supercharger makes much more sense (financially and practically) than a electric supercharger.

I highly doubt it's making any PSI pressure and you're risking metal fragments through the intake when it decides to self detonate. Serious if that thing lets go your engine is a gonna and keep in mind the volumes of CFM a combustion engine needs. Even if it were somewhat possible to create PSI it will lean out your engine tune also causing damage. You're better off buying real performance parts, that will make a difference without harming the engine. There is a decent amount of HP to be gained with external engine parts, in some cases a CAI, exhaust and set of injectors with a remap will give you much more performance.

I’m sorry bro but it’s a fact that the fan you have installed can not spin fast enough to compress air and crest boost. This has been proven. If you experienced any gains it would only possibly be from the increased air flow from the aftermarket air filter of the stock air intake. Your car is smart it will adjust on the fly like it does all the time normally. Your not adding enough boost to matter

It’s not the fan producing hp. They blow air but they are not powerful enough to compress air. It’s just the k&n wich is making air flow less restrictive.

Those electric turbos, chips, intakes, exhaust do not do anything for hp! Only way you'll get any gains from intake or exhaust is if you get a tune!

They don't work. There's a reason they went from being a $400-600 item, to being $20. It has been proven time and time again. "Electric superchargers" can work, when they're done with a ridiculously powerful fan that requires more power than your battery can give, but those cheap intake fan things are fake. The increase you'd have seen would be from the pod. Also, what test did you do that gave you 22%?

You'd be better off with simply putting higher octane fuel in.
