The dry erase trick works for newer permanent marker. How new? I don't know but I did an experiment with magic marker that was on a shiny cardboard toy box that had been in storage for 20 years and it faded it but did not remove it entirely, you could still see the price underneath. Then I marked a toy box with permanent marker and let it sit for an hour. It completely came off. So the trick has to take into account how long the marker has been left on and the condition of the box itself. You still get a like and a sub. You da bearded man!

I love it! I've known that for a long time, so I play pranks on people at work and use a sharpie on their dry erase board and watch them freak out! Then I pretend I didn't realize it was a sharpie. Always a good prank! Thanks for the tips, you Bearded madman! Nice video!

The reason the dry erase markers work, is alcohol. That's what is taking off the marker. You can use rubbing alcohol and paper towels and get the same result.

I've used lighter fluid to remove marker and sticker residue. Dries fast and doesn't mess up the paper on the cardboard.

Wow, I can't believe this worked. Just did it on two of my GW finds that had permanent marker on them and they came right off. I had been using Goof off, which is great for markers on bottoms of shoes or vcrs, but takes the paint off the cardboard. I have no idea what kind of magic this is, but it's great, thanks so much!!

I faintly remember from childhood someone removing permanent marker writing from a dry erase board by going over it with a dry erase marker several times and rubbing it in really good. Guess I should have thought about giving it a try with other kinds of surfaces.

I use hand sanitizer to get off fresh permanent marker, works great. The only problem is stale or old permanent marker I have tried the Expo markers like you have everything else Under the Sun nothing gets it off for me. Also when I use a hair dryer, most of the time I'm left with sticky tape and sticker residue which I know olive oil will take off but not on some cardboard because it will stain.

Derrick Jacobs Get you some Ronson lighter fluid and cosmetic sponges from Walmart. That glue residue won’t stand a chance, and it dries without a smell.

To remove the glue you can either use Google on Orange or if on sensitive starting fluid without the oil

I got a problem Brother , I am having trouble removing ink on the tags of clothes , which I guess is made of fabric of some sort? I was able to remove marker with acetone but it wasn't easy , but I haven't managed to remove dry ink like from a pen so far. Would this work if not do you have suggestions ? You're the man!

@@mariannegermann lol. Now, if someone was to buy the lot of my STNG memorabilia and autographs from Conventions, packing I could do! Easier for me with bulk. I' m glad you like it. Shipping is so expensive , though, and making sure the money goes thru for you sounds like a lot of paperwork mess to me. Or, maybe, deep down, the inner me doesn't want to part with the memories. Don't know.
