It just shows you that competition is a good thing. If it weren't for Vinted, there would be no such offers from Ebay. Competition creates pressure which leads to innovation and consumer spending. There's got to be a what's in it for me and everyone
Dude, I’m 50 and have been fairly successful in my life. I got into your channel as I was intrigued to see how the young-uns do. HUGE respect fella - you obviously have a professional producer now - and what a great call- life changing dude and I’m not a bot or associated to this production company - congrats fella - hard work is going to pay off
This is a stepping stone to getting rid of fees altogether. They did the same for private sellers a few months back. The no fees for private sellers was only advertised as a 2-month long offer, after which they scrapped fees first for clothing then altogether for all items for private sellers. I've heard rumours about a buyer protection fee (similar to vinted) being introduced by ebay in early 2025. Looks like they're gonna follow the vinted model. As a reseller, the no fees on vinted is a huge deal and the biggest reason why I've started selling more on there. So ebay would be wise to follow suit and I think they will
People are only gonna pay the same total overall (i.e. market value) anyway, doesn’t matter how it’s packaged up. Sellers will still pay fees even if they’re “hidden” in the “discounts” we then have to give in the form of slightly lower prices to accommodate the buyer fees 🤷🏻♂️
I fell below standard after my husband passed trying to crawl out from this for months and eBay hides all my items zero views 😢and no option for me to opt in to promotion 😢15 years on eBay they have no mercy !
Ebay mention both "apparel" and "clothing" they're not the same but subtly different, "apparel" is usually used to include footwear and accessories - so does it mean these will be free of fees as well? The T & Cs are not clear on this.
The competition commission can only control UK based companies so if based in USA and they said OK. It would happen. As companies can be based anywhere and attract customers from anywhere.
i know this is a reaction, likely to soften the blow for fake private sellers being forced to business accounts, but i do hope its a trail and doesnt end in december we will enjoy this run and all be sad when it comes to an end
Your Enthusiam is Fantastic and the fututre speculations are great. I am sure your voice on You Tube makes a difference, as Ebay do creepily watch sellers on You tube. All the best from Suffolk:)
Its no news at all Most businesses sellers sell new items and Its only clothing. Might as well be, free to list moon dust. Your right as soon as vinted pro gos live in the U.K.. its goodbye eBay. Too greedy for to long.
@@themasks-directshow9472 almost all business sellers I know of sell in used categories, I would imagine there are a scarce few who only sell new. Also Vinted pro IS live in the UK
@@johnmcvicker1748 We have been trying for a few days. It’s still coming up with an error message saying not available in the UK . I have screenshot it and forward it to Vinted, who tell me they’re working on it. Might be due to the volume of people trying to get on there . They said it went live on the 2nd of October.
We should never under estimate Ebay. Cant stand the changes but they are still in the game. Wish i sold clothes. Maybe it will be another category next, like they used to.
Good evening George, Thanks for the latest information. Once you get Vinted Pro up and running, and used to it, a video on cross listing for 2024 would be hugely welcome! Cant wait to have the freedom of selling on multiple platforms again! Cheers
Not exactly exciting news? 90% of business sellers on eBay don’t sell pre loved clothes, very poor comeback from EBay to be honest. Good for you tho mate. 😂
I've read Vinted Pro is paused to new applications the last couple of days due to the NI problem and it being rushed out - anyone know if it's working again?
Depop and vinted are no competition for ebay. This has nothing to do with them. This is all about regulations and eBay positioning itself as the top buying platform in competition with Amazon and stay above board with regulatory red tape. Ebay is already the top selling platform especially with resellers and second hand goods.
@@davidbolam7962 No Problem if they want to add it as an option, but i would much prefer to be in control of my own postage options when selling. The preset options on Vinted often don’t even cover the postage weights and sizes i need to use.
Yeah Ricky pipped you to the post but in your defence you probably had the fire brigade round to douse your hands of fire 🔥 from rubbing them together over this news 😂😂😂😂
@@RetroReselling true that’s a very fair point but they never changed/innovated fast enough nor did they buy out the competition early enough and some of those were in bad debt and had bad business plans. eBay is adapting and innovating and squeezing hard and buying out competition. eBay has a plan to be/remain the number one selling and buying platform and data processor. For good or bad (and I think good for now) it’s still ahead.
@@RetroReselling You're right George. As a seller, I would prefer to sell my items on vinted because of no fees and how easy transactions are what with pre-generated labels, no shipping fee for sellers etc. Also as a buyer I think Vinted is just an easier more straightforward process. Having said that, yes I do sell way more on ebay as there are more buyers. But Vinted will slowly start to edge closer
Seems like its invite only, I havnt sold clothing for over a year and less than 20 items in 20 years and no email. Can anyone post the link?, curious to see if it works.
@@RetroReselling Yeah that makes sense, they usually dont work but maybe I'll contact them and ask. Now curious to see if they do any other categories. Games and music for example.
