That happened to me as well 😡. He bought it, paid for it, then requested that I cancel the purchase. I canceled it and he got his refund. Then, about a month later, he leaves negative feedback saying he never received the item and "not to expect to receive anything from this seller". I complain to eBay but they would not remove the negative feedback because " the buyer did not violate policy" 😡 I emailed the buyer to try to get him to remove the negative feedback, but never got a reply! Oh yeah, it's the one and only negative feedback I've ever received. Thanks a lot.
I usually don't buy from anybody that has below 98% feedback. I always read the negatives people leave on sellers feedback. However, if the seller makes an effort to respond or defend to the negative feedback, I'll probably give the benefit of doubt and will buy from them. Some people are just spiteful and you have to weed out the fools. Love your channel! Keep up the good work!
Being a new seller… the Post office not showing tracking and customers wondering if I’ve shipped the product after marking it shipped. Then the Post office delivering to the wrong house! Had to call the post office and have them reach out to the carrier who then went and picked it up and took it to the right house. We got positive feedback at the end.
USPS tracking can be VERY unreliable, and since most buyers are not (also) sellers, they don't understand that. They always assume if tracking doesn't update it is the seller's fault. A package can be scanned right in front of you at the post office and not show up in the system for a day or two, ridiculous.
Another reason I prefer doing the QR code thing instead of making my own label, that way you bring package to post office they have to scan it in and it's done, shows up almost immediately as USPS has possession of it at least
Beautiful Whitman's Box. I love it. I really gravitate toward those golden oldie, retro items at sales. Hope things get better for you. I am good with 98% and above. Have a great weekend!
I’m still a relatively small reseller but recently upgraded the store level. My feedback has been 100% since we started in December 2022, now that I said this we will probably get a negative. Right now I have time to address problems immediately but that can always change. I cannot understand how a customer could leave feedback for an item without the sale being completed? This is something eBay or any other selling platform should address.
Had this happen on FB marketplace, guy never bought anything, was harassing me in a not so nice way and then 1 starred me for absolutely nothing and since there is no such thing as marketplace assistance, I'm stuck with it.
Yeah I had a young kid trying to low ball me and I just politely kept declining his offers. Come to find I got a 1 star from him later. He never bought anything, never sold him anything. Apparently you can just rate sellers without buying anything on marketplace. No way to remove it either
I listed a bunch of games on FB and had some loser asking to buy a n64 over and over- I told him several times I didn't have one to sell right now just the games and he somehow left me a bad review lol
I think ... sometimes...it may be another seller trying to undermine you. I always look at their profile and make a screenshot if I smell trouble. Then I look them up and block.
@@ResellingScoresI got banned from Facebook because of someone on marketplace. Wanted to trade me for an item, I declined, and he went crazy messaging me very inappropriate things. Ended up getting reported and banned.
You can block them on Facebook. I’ve had to block some scammers early on but things have been much better, but do block them. And somehow you can turn them into Facebook,I can’t remember how to do that. Another Facebook seller told me if they ask for his phone number he gives them the number for the FBI.
First time selling a Sony dvd/vcr recorder. Sold without remote which was disclosed in the title and description. Customer stated it didn’t work because there was no remote. Customer returned it and did a terrible job of packing (basically threw it in a box and put it in the mail.) came back mangled and broken. Ended up coming out ok with eBay taking care of the return shipping costs and the post office refunding for broken item. Probably lost a little bit in the end, but it was a huge pain and very time consuming. Lessons learned…
My worst is eBay’s glitch that they won’t admit exists: old items that sold years ago end up staying listed and selling again. I lost my Top Seller status for a year because of this, and now it’s happened again!
That has happened too me too on several different occasions that I finally called them and said if you look back this was sold over a year ago and I only had one (it happened on several different scrapbook dies and I’m like how could if they bought that it’s been sold and only had 1) eBay took care of the problem yet this was before the pandemic and now we are stuck with robots
I had this happen recently. Item had multiple colors available and I'd sold all but one but eBay somehow managed to change the numbers and showed all 3 colors available again. Thankfully, the buyer was okay with receiving the one color I had remaining.
I've been a seller since 1998 so I understand things can happen. I usually look at the ratio between positive and negative reviews. If the seller has far more positives then negatives I'll give them a chance.
I like to see at least 98% as a buyer. I gave upon worrying about negative and neutral feedback years ago. It happens so rarely that it’s not worth the worry because it’s near impossible to maintain 100% when you are selling at a level like a lot of us are selling.
I had an ebay buyer cancel an item before I shipped it. Imagine my surprise when I received positive feedback a month later saying they loved the item! I had to go search my inventory and saw the item still in my possession. I too was puzzled that they could even leave feedback on an item they had cancelled.
I received feedback for a cancelled purchase too. Good thing it was a positive feedback. It goes to show that some people don’t even know what they’re doing when they’re buying things on eBay.
For me, it is the kind of feedback. The level I accept depends on how much volume they do, combined with the rating. But just as important would be what the negative feedback says.
Last three weeks: I shared in Discord, a woman bought a CPK claimed mold and returned without clothing, comments says she's done it before. ($35) A sewing machine is on it's way back, first claimed I sent the wrong thing, then claiming she ordered a serger, iykyk ($110) Perfume that's from 92, "doesn't smell right" ($125) I had a video camera come back "defective won't turn on" I didn't even have to change the battery to turn it on, after they "rented" it for 30 days. ($170)
Sorry but this is gonna be a long one.... Had a buyer a few weeks ago on a tested and working beautifully packaged DVD/VCR combo say it didnt work, used a blurry screenshot of my own picture as their "proof"......they returned it literally with one sheet of bubble wrap, the box not sealed and missing the VCR door. Ebay said to not refund and then appeal the case after it closed. Then ebay closes the case and refunds the buyer from my funds. I start looking and the buyer has multiple false positives from other sellers from doing the same thing and has been called out multiple times online for the same. Ebay said i couldnt appeal because i refunded the buyer.....even though they could see that they took the money.....i didnt refund and they could see that their rep said to not refund the buyer. Escalated up eventually to me signing the affidavit for the issue and now im over a week of being ignored when ebay said they would respond in 72 hours or less.
It always asks me to leave it for everything. I just go read the negative and neutral if it sounds like they are incompetent then I skip them. If they are just victims of idiots then I give them a chance.
I had a buyer that left me a neutral . She asked me to cancel an Elvis magazine. she told me she had it . When I saw it was not happy. I message her & I said it unfair you left me a neutral when you ask to cancel . Finally she revised it .i also message EBay for business. I told them why can they leave feedback when they have cancelled it . I told them they need to fix that
I’ve come to hate going to yard sales you show up at the posted time only to find out somebody got there an hour before it started and cleaned out the place. It makes this reselling business, petty, and pathetic. you gotta be rude to be profitable
You just have to find yard sales that aren’t publicly advertised on fb marketplace etc. my wife and I sometimes just take a drive all day on a weekend and we find a lot that haven’t been picked through like you’re saying.
I have so many great things for my yard sale that it is going to be impossible for someone to come clean me out and I’m getting ready to have yard sale with lots for resellers , they will be happier than pigs feet😅👍💪♥️🇺🇸🙏😇
One thing that was kind of a horror story. I sold a Christmas ornament. Customer says that I ship them the wrong one and they sent a picture of one that I never had. EBay told me to not respond to the return until after that they would cover it. After the time was up they went with the customer so I lost my money and the $100 item and I even asked him to send the one that I supposedly sent them and never even got that back so I lost my money and my item. What made it even worst is that I gave them almost half price of the item before I even sent it.
I had the same thing happen with neutral feedback. I messaged them asking why if the order cancelled by their request and they changed it, turns out they intended that to be for a different order they had placed from a different seller. they left feedback to the wrong item purchased.
I'll add one! last year every single item I sold on ebay during the week of black friday got returned! All for fit. I didn't make great sales that week anyway, but it really was a complete waste of my time on ebay because I made 0 profit that week there.
This is the main reason I stay away from clothes as much as I can. You can put all the measurements in the item description but 90% of buyers don't read anything.
@@fatgrandmafinds It's weird because I've been selling clothing for years always providing measurements but had super low returns until around november of 2023. I think it's a combination issues including: buyers don't read, buyers are broke so they won't just redonate an item that doesn't work for them, and insane vanity sizing that a lot of brands are doing now. The insane vanity sizing is really killing me lately because I have both people buying current items saying they're too big, and then a lot of older items get returned and the buyer will say it's smaller than a current item from that brand that's tagged a smaller size. I've basically gotten away from listing a lot of women's categories on ebay. Poshmark only now for women's pants and jeans and men's jeans because now they are vanity sizing in men's apparently.
Worst ebay day was when I sold 2 50lb Foo dog lion statues for 1200$. Buyer messaged he didn't want them after I had already packed and shipped them. Had to have ups put a stop on the shipping and have them returned back to me. What a mess that was.
I received an offer, Accepted it and it disappeared. I assumed she didn’t pay. A few days later someone purchased the item and paid. Soon after (before I’d shipped) I got a cancellation request so I cancelled it. It was the first person who’d made an offer that requested the cancellation. I didn’t even know that could happen. I called eBay and the only thing I could do was relist and the actual buyer had to repurchase which he did and he was absolutely amazing. I felt terrible though! Lesson learned.
Im a new seller so a negative feedback hurts. One negative feedback brought me down to 95%. Buyer even wrote a note explaining they made a mistake jumping the gun on the review due to post office not delivering quickly. Ebay wouldnt remove said it does not go against their terms of service so I'm stuck with it even though buyer also wants it removed. Help.
I bought a concrete vibrator from Ebay from a seller called tool up, well they sent an open box and half of it was missing, I made a complaint, and they messaged me back and said AI doesn't see the problem. 350.00 down the drain. before I bought it, I asked if they could test it because from what I heard Dewalt had a lot of vibrators not working, tool up said they could not open the box, well they did and took out the shaft part of the tool.
@@TheOneTheOnlyToast Yah I might have to but even on the DeWalt box says bare tool and that's the shaft to. I am in contact with the seller hopefully they make it right, because this is being used for an invention and I will be looking for thousands of units.
I just got a Harley shirt back and guy included a letter saying he never ordered & doesn’t even like motorcycles & does want to be scammed so he made a police report and he thinks I should too. I message the buyer a copy of the letter & said the shirt had been returned to me. No response. Idk. I still can’t believe the other guy spent $9 sending it back. Unreal
I accidentally sold a Resistol Cowboy hat (super nice) as a Stetson Cowboy hat in a Stetson box I picked up off an Amish Feller (watch the Amish yall 😂). It was a different size than the box noted, again- different hat lol. I just found out my stepmom was diagnosed with bone cancer (stage 4) and I was distraught and not thinking right. She’s recently been completely healed of it praise God. Anyways, it was my first sale back and I instantly refunded, but I had a feeling the buyer knew that was going to happen and was just trying to get a free hat. Either way, I couldn’t remember how to use returns and frankly didn’t give a dang about that hat at the time lol so I just let him keep it.
I just had an item I sold cancelled without any request from the buyer or message from eBay. Is there a new policy where buyers can just cancel orders without seller permission?
I am OBSESSED with that Whitman's tin! I LOVE any jewelry, jewelry boxes, trinkets etc. with the old style art women's faces bodies or hands on them. It's my thing! One of my everyday/never take off rings is a woman's face with long hair that looks like the tin you sold.. I should have checked out your store more thoroughly before it sold lol Off the top of your head (don't take time looking for me-time is money) do you have anything with faces etc. on it in your store? Even a tee or jacket.. Just an FYI I am happily engaged to a man and we have been together for 12 years.. I just love the look and style.. I am not obsessing over women bahahaha
Not ebay but on Poshmark. I purchased 4 pair of different designer sunglasses retail arbitrage from Nordstrom. Prada, Jimmy Choo, Alexander McQueen & Cloe. I have over 2000 sales and a solid 5 star rating. All but the Prada got terrible 1 star feedback or case opened saying they were badly bent, etc. First time I chalked it up to rare occurrence. Poshmark approved returns but none were sent back to me. I decided they most likely were wanting them for free. I don't do sunglasses anymore.
Worst? My worst was I sent out a huge rockband bundle $50 to ship total order was like $200, had it returned because the Guitar didn't work even though I did test the guitar. Around that time I also sent a band hero drumset for the wii that also got returned because one of the drums wasn't working another $100 with $50 dollar shipping. Anyways I ate the shipping there and back on both of those. Now just parting out to make back some money. Lol
Weird - just got a neutral yesterday on an item that a buyer purchased and immediately sent a cancellation request with "ordered by mistake" as the reason. I promptly cancelled the order. This was well over a month ago and then whammy a neutral feedback rating with just a "." as the feedback text. Best part is that they are also a seller on eBay!!!! I sent a feedback revision request and they have 4 days to respond or ignore. I know neutrals don't really count against you but it still irritates me.
I don’t except returns since eBay is so lax on their 30 day policy anyway. Lady returned a pair of jeans for Not as Described because they didn’t smell like new jeans should smell. They had NO smell at all. eBay made me refund her cost, shipping & return shipping. I lost money on both shipping charges because eBay will NOT side with the seller. They continue to allow the buyers to file bogus returns for bogus reasons and eBay just does not care. I block the buyers immediately so they can’t leave any feedback at all. I have stopped leaving any feedback on the buyers account. Too many cons going on.
I sold a chainsaw that I described as non working and needed repair. The buyer called me on the phone, saying it didn’t work and basically I had to give him a discount because of that.I had to give in ,knowing he would leave negative feedback.Majority of my transactions have been positive.
I had a buyer purchase an item and a day later want a refund because she didn’t like the color even thought I put it in the title and description the exact color of the piece and had lots of clear photos. As soon as I shipped it she filed that she never received the item. So I contacted eBay to let them know they documented it and promised they wont allow her to give me negative feedback. Ebay automatically sided with buyer I then messaged ebay and they resolved it and i got my money back. Ebay did great.
Hey Kevin! Just wondering if you had a dip cup with you at all times when you were in the classroom... or if you had to constantly leave the classroom to get your fix???
Same thing with buyer cancelled then left neutral feedback. Asked buyer, she swore she never left that, she tried to contact eBay. Wondering if this is an eBay glitch. Feedback just said cancelled. She was insistent that she didn’t and wouldn’t do that. She cancelled before she paid
When it rains it pours .. go weeks even months with no returns then I get 2 to 4 in a week ..I feel you....we all make mistakes but all we can do is give great service and have great communication with our buyers as most are decent people... Others are from other planets and will never be pleased...repeat ... some will never be happy
I don’t even like selling on eBay. I find buyers are very quick to leave negative feedback, for silly things even, without even trying to contact seller to sort it out
I actually got positive feedback on a cancelled ebay sale. Went to pack and ship a piece of pottery and found a small chip that I unknowingly created sometime between listing and selling (I checked and the chip wasn't in the photos I posted). I offered a big discount to the buyer if he wanted to go forward with the sale. He declined but left me positive feedback for being honest about it. Still, it did seem strange to me that he was able to leave feedback.
EBay keeps telling me to leave feedback for a purchase that the seller canceled. It wasn't a good experience so I don't want to lie and say it was good, but I don't want to leave them negative feedback, but eBay keeps pestering me.
lol I here u just put .. buyer cancelled sale due to …. Non payment other than or whatever happened, ps don’t leave it till they have left yours for sure!
I too had a similar experience when very new. I nvr left the feedback bc I then thought it’d diminish my score. Concerning not leaving feedback til they have left it… is it true that a buyer can not leave feedback after 30 days?
Negative Feedback for Cancelation: once got negative feedback for a cancellation request when I said no, won’t cancel your purchase. Which brings up a common eBay Buyer/Seller disparity on eBay. When you accept a Buyer’s Offer eBays an annoying message to the Seller reminding Sellers that the agreement to sell is a Contract that has to be Upheld. When a Buyer pulls the trigger on a purchase, then wants to cancel, eBay then sends the Seller a note recommending they accept and cancel for “Buyer Satisfaction”. What about Seller satisfaction and Buyers wasting a Seller’s time. It’s the same contract, which means the same standards should apply.
There is some people who think a store is fake feedback if there is no other than positive feedbacks, and they wont shop there. Believe it or not. I have three stores and I get better business from a store I would think would get less business than the other two because of what you are talking about but it does really well. I am learning to ignore all this because I know I am doing everything really good so I don't try to make sense of others oddities, waste of time and energy.
As a buyer, I always look at the percentage. When I see a 98%, I read further into the comments I always look to see what the negative comments state. When they read waiting for item, seller not responding then I do not buy the item. Sometimes the complaints are so petty that I just ignore them. Bottom line I always check the negative comments and see what the people are complaining about. If it’s trivial I continue with the purchase.
I had a person want a return because the item got broken upon shipment....showed me pictures. So, of course I said send it back... when I got it back, it was in 100 different pcs... she completely broke the item in so many different pcs and still wanted her money back. I won that one, but ebay never returned my money. After that... i was done with Ebay. I just feel its only going to worse with returns and customers taking advantage of the return policy. Ebay is for the buyer not the seller - which is how ebay even is in business because of us sellers.
I've gotten neutral feedback on an item that was still in the hands of USPS, not sure how a buyer can leave feedback on a transaction that wasn't complete.
Seems like whenever I win an auction at a super steal of a price (no reserve) the seller cancels the order due to missing or damaged item. Its happened enough times that now I stalk the seller and wait for them to relist it so I can file a claim against them. Just set a reserve and you wont have that happen! 😂
I get feedback requests from eBay wanting me to leave feedback on items the buyer canceled or items where I accepted an offer and the buyer never paid. So I wonder if the non buyer gets requests from eBay to leave feedback on those items.
Just FYI…it’s cancellation not cancelization. I’m looking for high 90’s when looking at sellers on eBay and what the negative feedback says really matters as well. If they are selling fakes or seem like they have terrible responses to buyers, I’m out.
The first time I heard you say returns happen in threes I was like, yeah right… well, I was new to reselling… then it happened… GM again… in 3 years I’ve had one instance where I only received one return in a short amount of time, every other time it’s in threes… it’s weird
I buy off Ebay to flip on Amazon. I don't go below 98% feedback. If they have a high feedback number I look a bit deeper because stores can have 98% feed back but still have alot of negative reviews. Due to the high amount of feedback they have.
I buy and sell but my cut off for buying is 95% since you asked unless the seller is relatively new and the buyer/seller feedback communication shows the seller just got some crazy buyers starting out. Always good to leave comments on neutral and negative feedback stating each side of the argument as to why.
My selling rate dropped down to 97.1% with no negative feed back for at least a year. I do sell perfumes and I do get returns now and then buyer doesn't like the small or they thought it was something else. I get one return a month. Don't know who to call at Ebay.
I had someone return electronics and they kept mine and returned a broken one , i tried to make a case but ebay took their side... :( stay away from anything electronic
I don't really have a feedback percentage that is a cutoff point. When I buy, I have to read the negative or neutral feedback. From experience, I can sometimes tell if the feedback is really genuine or if it's probably not the seller's fault. Also, if there are several negatives and they are all the same type problem, then probably it's genuine.
I sold some pokemon cards and the buyer accused me of resealing the packs. It was one of my earliest sales and almost made me give up but the buyer eventually apologized and removed their negative feedback. Just have to remember to keep moving forward!
Kevin, I had a sale from Brazil, and I couldn't print out a label because ebay said the address was incorrect, so I messaged the buyer, and he was very rude and combative, and said nothing was wrong with his address. I explained and even showed him a message from ebay. He didn't care he was upset I was even talking to him. So I called eBay, and they said to just cancel the order if he's not willing to fix the over sea's address issue. So I did, and he left a lengthy negative feedback after I canceled it. Calling me a moron no less than 5x throught. I have 100% positive feedback but only have about 80 sales so it dropped a bit to 97% , but anyone that reads the feedback can clearly see it's bogus. He was saying I refused to contact ebay and fix the problem and I cancelled it without letting him know. Which isn't true, I did message him and told him I spoke to ebay and they said the address was incorrect, and that they said I need to cancel the order if you can't fix it, so I can relist the item. I haven't called eBay yet but I'm sure they'd take that off.
It is indeed baffling to me how eBay can allow buyers to rate a canceled transaction. When a sale is canceled, no transaction, vis a vis an exchange of money and/or goods, took place. As such a buyer has no standing on which to submit feedback rating the seller as the buyer-seller relationship was canceled..
I sold an item that the buyer messaged to have it sent to an entirely different address unassociated with their account. I told them I could not ship to the requested address and to cancel and re-order the item with the address they wished to ship to. They did not cancel the item and stopped communicating. I canceled and refunded the item because of address issues so they left a negative feedback because the item never showed up 🤣 eBay denied the request to remove the feedback 🤔
Yes a buyer cancelled the order and left me neutral feedback as well. I think Ebay sends out emails to both buyers and sellers to provide feedback. I think this buyer got tired of Ebay sending out a rate your sale email and so in order not to send negative they sent neutral. Ebay should not allow feedback to occur until the item is complete. I also received positive feedback from a buyer right after they purchased the item and said how much they loved it. It hadn't even shipped!
As a buyer im looking for sellers who are on time with sales. Id go as far as 96-97% as long as they are on time and im not waiting forever for my item!
Personally the score has zero affect on whether I buy. Feedback is all about the content of the feedback. A dumb or petty negative probably makes me want to buy from that seller more as they need sane customers. Something petty buyers should remember especially if they buy collectable items is that it takes 2 seconds to block a buyer and sellers talk to each other, if you get a rep for being difficult you might find it hard to buy. I deal a lot in vinyl and buyers trying it on or just being difficult will find they are blocked by a lot of sellers pretty fast
I like your kids. They are well rehearsed and don't mess up the rhythm of the video like most other kids in videos. I like the animals. They are also well rehearsed.
I had the exact same thing happen. I received a neutral feedback around 30 days after buyer cancelled their order It was never shipped so how could this happen? Ebay did remove it for me. I think it is some kind of ebay glitch. you should call ebay.
I've gotten feedback for cancelled items, thankfully it wasn't negative. I also got negative feedback from a buyer who claimed I didn't ship their items together but I did ship them together AND I refunded them the difference on the shipping. eBay would not remove the negative feedback because the buyer "didn't violate any feedback policies." I guess buyer's lying in their feedback isn't against eBay policy😡 If someone has below 98% I will look at their feedback to see what the buyers have claimed went wrong. Many times it's a bogus reason or has to do with something outside of the sellers' control. I will still buy from those folks. If they have below 90% I won't even bother.
For me most of the time 97% is good for me to buy from them, I do read the feedback and decide after that. Just to say I have always had a great experience with buying on Ebay. I now sell on there and have not sold a bunch but my experience with selling so far has been great, with great feedback. Thanks for sharing I'm always learning from you and the others I watch. 😊Have a great day 😀
They could have accidently left the feedback intended for another seller's item on your page. I have had that happen before. I had someone leave the comment "You didn't disclose it was scratched" I replied with your leaving feedback on the wrong item. You haven't even received my item yet because it hasn't even been delivered. He apologized and said yes he left feedback on wrong sellers page. I had it removed. Or your buyer could have just been trying to be funny??
As a buyer I don't go by the percentage of feedback I will read through the feedback to see how many legitimate negative (not petty) feedback is left on a seller.
When I buy something fragile from someone on eBay I always look at the feedback. If they have negatives I read them because some things are a matter of opinion. Some reasons are just dumb. Some people don't know how to ship fragile items. So, I guess the reason they received a negative is important to me. Slow shipping I don't care about. I received a neutral once and I asked the buyer why. She stated it was just a household item, not special. Some people don't realize that their feedback has any affect. I also don't like to buy or sell to people who give lots of negative feedback no matter the reason. So, I also look at the feedback they give and why.
Approx response: Feedback % depends on how many sales. If over 10k, as low as 96-97%. At that point I also may look at reasons. Slow shipping or other shipping and I won't buy. Smaller issues with item if high sales it probably won't matter. If 50k, same. If higher, same. If 5k, 98-99%. If under 3k, prefer 99-100%. Depends on item too. If under 3k, hard to find and I want now, maybe 96%, depends on reason and how old feedback is. A lot of shipping issues within last 6 months, definitely no go. In 25 years only returned one item and it cost me big time. (Very heavy and large and leaking oil everywhere!) But it was principle of thing and fed ex lied about delivery. Turned up 2 months later at neighbors with same house number, wrong street. Missed ebay deadline for dispute. Haven't used fed ex since then. Neither buyer (me) nor seller left feedback.
