Ebay Removed It, Because THEY Said It Was Fake?! No Explanation Why!

Tammy I bet you I know what they’re doing 🙄 They seem to be pushing their authentication services. I’ll bet you they want you to pay for their services!! And I bet there’ll be a lot more of this happening. I’ve noticed several designer items marked as authenticated by EBay 🤷🏼‍♀️. I don’t sell on eBay but I buy pretty often, browsing shops is the only reason I’ve noticed the uptick in authenticated items.

I agree that 100 percent they should be able to tell you why they have determined this bag to be a "fake". That doesn't give you any information to be sure this doesn't happen again. Plus, they gave you zero opportunity to prove it's authentic.

Put it on Poshmark! I'm really considering moving all my clothes and accessory merch to apps like Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, etc. Ebay has really changed for the worse since I first started selling over 20 years ago!!

I am sorry that happened to you. I had already decided not to sell my Coach bags online as a new seller because of the possibility of a scammer returning a counterfeit in place of my authentic one. Yours looks so nice, I can't imagine it won't sell elsewhere.

I received 2 emails a day apart that said I was selling counterfeit items. In checking on the Lauren wallet and found two similar wallets that were still listed. On the Stranger Things socks I found multiple listings that looked just like mine. I've had these listed for months. I'm really confused. This happened on the weekend, so I didn't try to contact Ebay. I am really scared to post anything with a known brand. You are not alone.

First time here thanks. This was helpful just happened to me with a controller I sell mostly video games on ebay. It is third party but it isn't a fake. But that helps and saves me the time for reaching out to them. Just was worried my account would be suspended or pay higher fees or they wouldn't promote or block my items. Hope this never happens to you and me again. Great video

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. I know how difficult it is sometimes to get way down into the purses to photograph the credentials to show authenticity. I hope someone else will purchase it from you. Maybe you'll get even more than you originally were asking for it on Ebay. I hope you do.

I am so sorry this happened to you. It is frustrating. I had them take down a bracelet I was selling once. They give no explanations. It's their way or no way. I am slowly moving away from them.

eBay is so fickle! And the scammers are out and about, too! You could sent the real deal and then they open an INAD then send back a dollar store purse. Ridiculous!

They did the same freaking to me because my items has been selling like hot jamaican patties, they remove it with no explaination..

How could they tell by a picture? You would have to see it in person and handle it.

A few years ago I sold Coach handbags. I knew how to tell if it’s real. I saw several were fake and couldn’t believe they were priced as authentic! Evidently this group hadn’t graduated’ from whatever class they went to!

AGGGGGGGGG! I actually lost my second Ebay account over a Chanel item which I was 100% certain was authentic (I was WITH my grandma when she bought it for herself, FROM THE CHANEL BOUTIQUE, and later was gifted it by her). Knowing that it was authentic, I hard-headedly re-listed it...it sold, and they deleted my account entirely. This was probably 20 years ago, and was an account that my Mom, my sister's and I all shared for reselling. Boyyyyy, was I in trouble! 🤣

That's an authentic Willis...not even sure WHAT the heck they saw that was even questionable! I'd text Ebay for Business on FB and keep hounding them about it!

Can you get it certified authentic from Coach? I don’t know the procedure, but if possible, this is the route I would take.

I do not sell on Ebay and may never because of the riff raff with them and customers. A couple of years ago, I had to set up a new account because of an email problem. So I basically needed to change my email, but I couldn't because of my old email not working. Anyway, when I tried to make a purchase, Ebay sent me an email saying they were freezing my account because I owed them some money for sales. Keep in mind, I am not a seller on Ebay. When I called them I was told that I did not finish the new account registration and needed to finish it. That was a big turn off to me to ever be a seller. All they had to do was send me an email saying I needed to finish getting my new account set up and what they were missing. Ebay needs some competition....serious competition! Look on the bright side, you don't have to pay them commission!

I havent bought or sold anything on ebay in 11 years. They suck! I can tell you exactly what happened. It was automation just like everything else! Do you think an actual human at ebay took the time to look at the pics and determine it was not real? Naww I dont think so.

Sorry to hear this. We all know you would never sell a fake. It's crazy they can't tell you why they think it is because how are you suppose to learn what they qualify as fake?? Can u sell it on mecari?

If you go on to ebay for business on facebook they may be able to give you more info? I tend to go there for all my ebay issues now. The reps on there seem to have more thorough info than the reps on the phone. The phone reps pretty much just read from scripts. I think that Mercari has a new thing that when you sell something on there over a certain amount it goes to an authentication rep before it gets to the customer? I really dont trust ebay any more for expensive items that are popular just for that reason. Good luck with the sale.
