It's barely been a month, but we are already seeing major pros AND cons when it comes to both of us working full time together. Let's pull some ebay orders and talk about the good and the bad that comes along with both of us being self-employed together.

I've been full time now since I left my job in September 2020 and I have absolutely loved it. The pros are easy to imagine but my biggest cons so far are not having someone to help motivate me on the days I can't motivate myself (that's when I turn on the Triple Thrift Podcast lol) and it does get kind of lonely sometimes working by yourself and not having anyone to talk to and exchange ideas with. However the pros far outweigh the cons in my opinion and I hope I never have to go back to working for someone else.

Your co workers now are all of the people you run into and buy things from as well as other resellers. You are such an open person that you like talking to clothe cashiers etc so at least you have some nice communication with lots of other people. I’m so happy for you two!!

I appreciate you sharing the pros and cons of owning your own reselling business. For me the biggest con is having to deal with taxes & bookkeeping. I dread it! Maybe soon I can hire someone to do all that tax stuff. Best wishes! -Steven

Yea for sure lol. I get kind of nervous about bringing my dog to a dog park because I just don’t know how she’ll act. My neighbor has two dogs that she gets along with great so maybe I’m worrying too much.

I’m in CT and heard someone at GW refer to her “buggy” I thought of you. In CT they are “carriages” but I call them “carts” as I grew up in Indiana 🤣 always pick up those Polo jackets they sell well 👍

Yes, I had a couple of 'work kids'. I do miss them and catching up daily. I also had several co-workers I had sat by and known for many years. Watched their children grow up and have kids of their own. That is probably the only thing I miss. Do NOT miss having to try to schedule time off! One year we were all on mandatory overtime and my son was getting married out of state. They did not approve my time off until a couple days before we were scheduled to leave. Talk about STRESS!

I love the changes to the channel. I sometimes find the couple thing almost to be exploitive of the wife in some ways. Hailey is just so chill and seems to REALLY be having a good time learning the sourcing side and business side of reselling.

My husband and I worked together as team truck drivers, driving produce coast to coast. For as many times as we threatened to leave each other on the side of the road, we really did have a lot of fun together. We did this for 6 years until a major accident put me out with major, disabling injuries. I am now trying to get a reselling business up and running with my daughter.

I think that one of the cons you might of missed is the balance of home and work space in the house. Of course we do not know the layout or size of your house, but from the videos it looks like the business has taken over your house. :)

I wish we had a dog park. My Audie would have a blast! He loves to play! I'm 62 and disabled and can't play other than to throw his balls and let him run and bring them back to me, which I do. But he would have such fun with other dogs! That dog park looks like heaven!

Love this very honest look into your month of working together. My husband and I both own our own businesses so I totally hear you on the health insurance. So happy for you two. TRAVEL as much and as far as you can!! I know it sounds cheesy but money spent traveling is the only money you spend that makes you richer! If you can write it off even better!

Great video. Wishing you both great success in this new chapter in your life. One important thing you mention that many people forget ... when you work for yourself, all the chips are on the table and everything depends upon the boss (meaning YOU) keeping things going and showing up for work every day, "want to or not".

Okay for the book, I would shrink wrap or brown paper wrap as soon as you have taken your pictures. As you can see putting them in a bin is not the best way to store. If you wrap it will stay nice, you can write on the paper what it is and you need to tag every thing so you know what it actually cost. I love Vans.

Use a stitch ripper to carefully remove that embroidery from the backside!! Usually they’re included in cheap sewing kits at stores, if you can’t find one. Just be careful as you use it (& maybe wear a thimble so you don’t stab your thumb!)

Been reselling part time for about 2 years now. I went from a full time job down to a part time job. (Way less stressful) but I agree about all your points. Would love to start reselling full time. Insurance is definitely the biggest hurdle. Luckily my husband gets great insurance from his job.

Every video I get reminded of how bad our shipping prices are in Canada. Post office charges minimum $15 plus tax for a package. Make itnimpossoble to sell anything under $20, especially if I do free shipping.

My goodwills are all saturated with resellers very competitive, Lots of retirees doing it, the only time you'll get a good golf club is if it rolls out on a cart and your rite there at the rite time.

If you add an inverted copy of just the background music in another track when you edit your video the inverted copy will cancel the background music. Inverted. Not reversed. Use audacity. If you record your voice with a headset mic you can cancel all of the background sounds later by inverting the audio recorded from your gopro. You can then add the audio from the mic to your video. Use a separate audio recorder for your voice.

I had found one of those flavor wave ovens and ended up parting it out. The bowl and motor ended up selling for around $50 free shipping each. I ended up selling the racks for I think 23 free shipping as well.
