Broooo, this was such a good step by step video. I have an OLD collection I’m trying to sell off, so I appreciate seeing this because this single-handedly gave a great idea of how to go about things. You’re awesome, and keep up the good work, cheers!
17+ years on eBay as a seller didn’t know that Bought large (~30k cards) sports card collection and I hate sports and $1.49 cards is killing my efficiency hahaha Came here to see what others are doing -SheafferSelectCoins
Thank you so much for this. I've been unsure how to start and this was a huge help. Trying to find ways to save on shipping materials is especially important - for Canadians, I discovered the Dollar Store sells pack of 100 penny sleeves for dirt cheap compared to online or retail stores.
I'm not even joking this is a step by step instructional video of exactly how i ship my cards. The only difference is i use two pieces of card stock and tape the card to that. You can use cereal boxes or anything with similar packaging and still be well within the requirements from USPS. Have you ever tried using listing software yet? I'm getting into it now hopefully it'll increase my items sold.
Great video - thanks for the help! Question - at what point do you need to go to a box just for the amount of cards? In other words, how many cards is too many for a bubble mailer? Haven't shipped anything yet, just getting all of my stuff organized.
I think it could vary, for me if I sold 7-10 cards I would probably just go with a box at that point. I always want to try and do what's best for the buyer, if it gets tight switch to a box.
Usually this is from a postal worker that doesn't understand the eBay standard envelope process, it may help to speak to the local postmaster or one of the postal workers , I have had to do this before and sometimes they just don't know
I got a redemption auto in hand and looking to sell. I am an avid buyer with 100% reviews but never sold. Should I list and sell some cheap stuff first or just go head first? edit: It is a Volpe on-card auto from inception
That's a tough one. I think even if you have some ratings you should be ok, but eBay may put your funds on hold until the transaction is totally complete. Awesome card though!
@@RandomRips Thanks for the advice. Someone else on reddit told me the same thing you said. Not looking to make a profit just want funds for more '23 allen ginter autos. Trying to complete the whole auto set. Its hard
It is not the same price, the bubble mailer is a first class package and ships for around $5 depending on where you are located and where the package is going
you just write down customer address on the envelope, and no pay for eBay shipping label, right? Otherwise it make no sense cuz the shipping label costs 4$
What's the price difference on shipping when you use a bubble protected envelope?? I'm about to try to sell my first card and it's more than 25 bucks for sure so I want to send it right and I have it in one of those heavier cases with the magnet at the top and they lock in on the bottom. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
A bubble mailer will cost you around $5 to send. If you plan on mailing that card in a one touch (magnetic case) I would make sure it is tapped together or between some cardboard
Ebay is a tricky place for sure, the biggest advice i can give is consistancy. it is better to upload something once a day than it is to upload a bunch of stuff one day. Make sure your titles are good and competitive prices
That card was something I pulled and was using as an example. I list all of my cards using my phone, you would need a printer though when selling so that you can print a shipping label
@@RandomRips I'll keep that in mind, thank you! Also could I mail cards by just putting them in my mailbox for the mail man to pick up or do I need to go to the post office and get the envelopes weights, stickered, and shipping labeled? Got a video for that?
Great video so people prefer to buy it now at a higher price than auction starting at a lower price? I’m just starting and I’m trying auctions but allowing offers….thoughts?
Good Video!! I have eBay sellers send me….. -5 Cards in 1 Penny Sleeve -3 Cards in 1 Top Loader -Single Cards in Team Bags (no penny sleeves / no top loader) eBay sellers are the worst!!!! It’s ok, because I let them know on the feedback👍
Silly question, but when you print the label after you pay for it on EBay do you still need to add a postal sticker in the top right corner or are you able to drop it in the mail box as is? Sorry I have been collecting basketball cards since 98 and kinda stopped in 2006..so I just pulled out my binder full of sports cards lol all in excellent condition
Not a silly question at all. Just print out the label and tape it to the envelope and there will be something there for the post office to scan on the label you print from ebay
Great video so people prefer to buy it now at a higher price than auction starting at a lower price? I’m just starting and I’m trying auctions but allowing offers….thoughts? Also do you take the penny sleeve and top loader and extra bag into shipping costs?
I prefer to do buy it now mainly because I don't want to keep track of auctions. I also add the cost of shipping supplies into my price, I charge for 3oz shipping price but only pay 2oz when I ship the card
Thank you very much. I learned a lot from that. Really appreciate it trying to get into selling some more cards onto eBay so appreciate it.. great advice all around. Didn’t know about the shortcuts on EBay either.
So you can list the card to ship as ebay standard envelope, but as long as you put in the description PWE.. you can ship it for less with a stamp? How does that work? Am I missing something? I've been trying to find a way to list my 1 cent cards but not have to charge the $1.11 for shipping.
Do use a stamp, always go through eBay for shipping. The $1.11 is the cost for 3oz weight. If you lower the weight to 2oz when purchasing shipping it lowers the price to .87 cents
Wrap the box in bubble wrap and place some additional filler in the shipping box so it doesn't move around during shipping. Ship through eBay to get a discounted rate, maybe pay for insurance depending on the value.
Lord, I just found a huge box of 1980's & older Baseball cards that I bought years ago. Topps, Upper Deck, Donruss, Fleer Ultra. Frank Thomas, Nolan Ryan, Barry Bonds, Derek Jeter, all kinds in perfect condition. I had 2 boxes of full collection pieces but I lost 1 box when I moved. I got basketball cards also that I didn't know I had. lol
Often if I am sending out a bunch of cards to one person before they pay you can send them an invoice with all of their purchases and then you can ship them together. If they have already paid I would send them a message saying that you will send them all together and manually put in the tracking on each item
@Random Rips Sports Cards thanks for the reply,I was actually referring to, do you put all the cards in a a separate penny sleeve/Top loader then in team bags?
I have never sold anything on eBay (lol). When someone purchases my listing, do I get a shipping label sent to me through eBay in an email? Just a bit confused on how the shipping off part is. Thank you for the great video!
We all have to start somewhere! When you sell something eBay will let you know when the person has paid and then you go to a shipping screen and you will purchase shipping from there after filling out the weight and dimensions of the package, then you purchase the label through eBay(much cheaper) and can print it directly from there
@@RandomRips awesome! can i drop it off in the dropbox outside the USPS since I already paid for it (assuming that’s the selected service)? And eBay just tracks it once I print the label?
My issue with tape is that you can bend the card trying to remove it. Like how you tape it to the inside of the envelope…the only way to get it out without applying pressure to the card is to cut the envelope apart. EDIT: I also don’t want scissors anywhere near my cards
Quick question. When you said you change it to 2oz shipping weight instead of 3oz when you ship, how/when do you do that step? Does the post office ever reject the letter if its over 2oz?
After you sell a card on eBay it gives you all kinds of shipping options. There is where I change from 3 to 2oz. I have never had any card rejected by the post office, though 3oz is the max weight for Ebay standard envelope, if your package is over 3 oz I would send it first class mail
I'm a newbie on selling on eBay, have a couple cards I wanna sell but know nothing about if I should list a price or have a bid? And how much I should charge for shipping, for example i have a Ronald Acuna Jr. 2018 Topps Chrome Update #HMNT25 Braves RC Rookie Mint Psa 10, trying to find the best price to either list it for or would it be best to do an auction? And have no idea about shipping, again I'm a newbie, any information would be much appreciated!! Thanks to anyone for any advice or information!!
We all have to start somewhere! I almost never do auctions because there is just too much uncertainty. On ebay I would find the card you want to sell and look at which ones have sold in the last 90 days and make my price around that. For shipping anything over $20 I ship first class on ebay in a bubble mailer packaged between some cardboard. Should cost around $5 to ship
Thanks for this awesome vid just started selling my cards and I think it’s going well. Fingers crossed. My first few items I shipped without a piece of paper around the toploader inside the envelope. Do you think i will have any issues when they scan it in the machine?
I'm just going to assume you can't use eBay Standard Envelop when listing from a desktop? Ten videos and every last person using a phone, zero mention of it on the desktop at all, won't let me go below 3 ounces, try and it goes right back to 3.
I don't ever post on an actual computer as my cell phone is much easier for my workflow. I just tested it and had no issue using standard envelope. My only advice is to not hit the "apply" button under the dimensions as that sets it to default size and weight. Sorry if this is not much help
@@RandomRips no matter what I did it wouldn’t show up anywhere, no option at all, until I did it on my phone and then used create similar listing to do it, then it carried over. Starting from scratch option wasn’t there, idk why.
Hi - Thanks so much for this Video. You, gave all the basic steps on entering a card into Ebay and how to ship PWE and more expensive cards in a Bubble Mailer. How do you ship Blaster Boxes when you sell them? Thanks, and have a good day. Barry
If under a 1lb I would use a small box and bubble wrap and use first class shipping. If it's going to be over a pound I would use a free flat rate priority box from USPS and ship using their flat rate prices
They are what they are. It's the place where you can get the most eyes on your cards. I don't think it should be free, but it would be nice if it was a little less
Hey super helpful video! Question for you... If you have a complete set of a series would you recommend selling it as the full set or by each card? Thanks!
Love the video thank you for all the info. You have been a life saver. Quick question if you don't mind, what is the difference between the eBay managed payment and the immediate payment? Which one should be used?
eBay managed payments is what they call their payment system after they left PayPal. Immediate payment is an option you can use that requires the buyer to pay immediately once they purchase your item, but it still goes through eBay managed payments. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!
You earned my sub for this one. Very basic and important primer on selling, which I do need as I am organizing the cards I do have, and I now need the right supplies. I have a real fear of mailing things out improperly (don't know why) but this will help me conquer that. I'm starting to list cards/packs on eBay and this was the first video I googled. Thanks!
I do, ebay has a good international shipping program so you just pay to get the item shipped to the hub in the US and the buyer pays all the additional fees
This is extremely helpful. I get cards like your alek manoah all the time and I wonder why they don’t take good care of the card, hopefully this will help a lot of that! Thanks for sharing
I don't have a video on it, but I would still use a padded envelope or small box with bubble wrap and between cardboard. I would also make sure I had enough insurance to cover the card through USPS. The insurance can be purchased when you are buying your shipping label through ebay
