Ebay Store SHUT DOWN and NOTHING I CAN DO 

One of the many reasons I quit selling on eBay, the frustration isn’t worth it after a long period of time….. you just get fed up

It’s sad that eBay is such a leader in 3rd party online sales. They make things so hard and don’t work with sellers in the same way that they do buyers.

Man that's rough. A warning would have sufficed in this scenario. eBay acting like you single-handedly choked a kid with the battery box.

eBay is becoming more and more ANTI-seller by the day. This is exactly why I’ve moved my inventory to other platforms.

Everyone that is going to eBay open needs to asks questions about this, it is getting ridiculous. Half the veros I'm seeing people get are companies that aren't even on the Vero list. Are we supposed to have a crystal ball telling us what we can list or not? Sorry this happened to you. Its getting crazy.

Justin I’m so sorry this kind of crap keeps happening, so unfair and dishonest of eBay. I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to know what’s going on with eBay, because this is something that could potentially pose a problem for us ebay sellers as well. Thank you for posting. These are important warnings. After watching a million dollar annual producer get his store shut down permanently for not having original receipts for sneakers, I want to know the risks. No need to apologize for negativity. Your video protects people.

I’m sorry this happened to you guys. That’s why I only sell in the US. I know I’m restricting my market, but restricting my headaches too.

I remember the early days of ebay. A lot of merchandise was broken, poorly described, sketchy seller and they got a reputation for not policing their sellers. Now the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction where they are being overly cautious with the sellers and people are being banned for a few day up to a lifetime ban. When you're selling items from thrift stores and garage sales, you can't possibly know everything so you take your chances. I guess bans are going to happen because you can't possibly know every items and where there is a ban or a recall. Maybe ebay could program their computers to notify you first and block the listing.

Global shipping is a headache (tracking, language barrier messages). Does eBay think we are listing these items with knowledge of them being banned? If they could give us a warning for each item that is banned or has a Vero instead of judging us as criminals to please the claim I'm sure sellers would feel less afraid of the platform. Get with the times eBay.

That is ridiculous! Completely and totally ridiculous! If it made sense I would understand… but it does not.

I really hope someone at ebay sees this video and realizes how wrong this is. I have been suspended before too and it sucks because you have no idea you are doing something wrong. Keep your head up! Back to normal in 3 days 🤞

Honestly eBay makes me sick.

Wow! I've heard about these unfair suspensions. EBay really needs to make some serious changes in this area. It's almost mafia like, very strange and very unprofessional. I follow you guys and have learned so much. I'm glad you made this video, because it's important for all of us who make our living depending on a platform like eBay. I hate to shut out perfectly good customers but I can't take the chance of having these issues until Ebay deals with this side of their business. One Day, ebay will be sold to a company that actually cares about its sellers and has actual customer service. One Day, probably not in my lifetime. I’m 47 Keep your head up! Ebay has done far worse to me back years ago. Ebay pushing sellers off the platform actually gets you motivated to sell elsewhere.

Sorry you're going through this. I think I will go in and take GSP off all my listings. I will also be looking into other platforms to list on as a back up to the corporate monster that eBay has become.

Here's my beef about your suspension... When you listed it eBay knew it could have been flagged as a recall for an international customer. Did your listing give you an automated "warning" before you launched it? Nope! Your situation happens more often then most people realize. It would be soooo easy for eBay to automate a warning yet they choose not to. Probably figure it's easier to just suspend sellers than to hire software people to write simple code. Go figure!

Sorry this happened to you… hopefully this gets resolved soon and you’re up and running again. You and your wife worked way too hard and bring a ton of business to EBay for this to happen! You and Daily Refinement are two big RU-vidrs I follow that have been suspended/Banned. I want to go full time but this possibility makes me nervous to pull the trigger. The word SONG was in the listing because the listing person clicked on “sell similar” and didn’t notice the error to delete it. The eBay bot 🤖 only knows to flag the recalled singing baby sharks. At least you know what caused it. Some sellers never find out. I’m glad you were only suspended 3 days.

Hi Dustin, I am so sorry about this. In my opinion, Ebay just gets worse all the time. You can't appeal again, because you had a successful appeal? No warning, automatic suspension for 3 days,when they could of taken it down. What they did with your store and that message,is dishonest and going too far. Are they gonna pay you for advertising other stores? I wanted to ask,do you sell on whatnot? A lot of resellers are using it more and more. I think with your large fan base,you could do very well. I'm so sorry about the ban, it makes no sense. I'm from the UK and a lot of things dont make sense here anymore.

So sorry to see this! We understand the pain, and wonder how they (EBay) can be so reckless with their sellers!? We’ve had similar experiences, with items that are fine to be listed, like they literally just took someone’s word for it not being a legitimate item. This makes for a very big concern when, like you said, we rely on this income! Maybe we, as sellers, should ban them for 3 days and watch them squirm! It’s a scary thing! Blessings to you!

I had the SAME ITEM listed and got a warning yesterday, so I feel your pain! I didn't list it with GPS and still had it taken down. eBay told me that the item was recalled. Absolutely crazy. Thanks for the information about appealing. I hope your sales soar when your account is active again.

I was an ebay seller for a while and got tried of this kind of silliness. the straw that broke the camels back was N95 masks at the start of the pandemic. The customers were doctors and companies needing masks to continue operations. sold enough masks to make money back. Ebay killed the listing and said I was not to relist the masks. Didn't like the fact that ebay could destroy my livelihood at their whim and closed my store.

so sorry that happened to you! it's not fair. after 10 years,I gave up shipping international. it's not worth the risk. I was selling a faberware cutting board with knife that I orginally bought on ebay. I didn't care for the size, so I just re sold it. well,the listing got taken down because you cant sell knifes/weapons in Australia! then I had another issue with a doll and customs. I gave up after that. I'll stick to selling in USA only! Hang in there!! come back strong, love your videos!

Love the positive videos on this channel, one of the key reasons that I watch. This video however was totally real and shows the human side of what you go through. I've stopped adding new listings to the Global shipping because I've been worried about this very thing. I'm glad you brought it to light, it will help me and others in our decision making.

Greatings from Germany (I hope you know this country😉) . I had the same problem, because I offered an article with european shipping shipping which is allowed in Germany but not in another country I don't know. That was hard. Use these days for vacation and come back stronger! Don't give up. Perhaps you are to subordinatet to eBay. Maybe you should build another foothold to minimize the risk. I once used Ebay to make extra money picking. I picked up a pool cue worth $600. Sold the mint pool cue for $600, The seller clammed damage, it was returned to me I only received the bottom half of a damaged stick missing the wrapping. I quit after that one. Edward

I had something similar happen to me on eBay too. I had a book about WWII that I was selling and because it included the "H name" on it, they closed my store down with no notice or anything! Once I explained the book to them, they took down the noncompliance, but said that my 100's of listed books won't be back up for a week! I was so mad!!!! So sorry that they messed with you hon :(

This why I started selling on poshmark, I only sell general merchandise on eBay but poshmark doesn’t give me the headache eBay does. Can’t wait til I have enough saved up to buy my franchise.

Imagine the hurt Ebay would feel if every seller or even a big portion suspended their own store for 3 days. My sales have been almost obsolete this past week, granted I have not listed every day, but still active with end/sell similar, running a sale and tweaking listings. Ebay DOES NOT CARE about sellers.

Reason to stop putting international shipping on your store.I don't on mine because of shipping hassles. 3. eBay have most of us caught up in a necessary part of our business and why I am actively looking for more platforms to sell from. I need one that is more based in the UK. (Yes I'm from the offending country!!) 4. eBay needs to get their rational thought process in gear to avoid people leaving. Titans can be brought down by the small guy just walking away. 5. Chill for the weekend and brush it off. Move on but look for alternatives.

The worst part about this is the fact that they took it upon themselves to list your items as being sold out on your eBay store. That is some dastardly BS. Not only are they denying you 3 days of selling, but they are making it look to your followers, on eBay, that your store is shut down or you are out of business; and then, to top it off, they tell your customers to shop somewhere else on eBay on YOUR #$%&* EBAY STORE.

I would forget about global shipping…way less hassle

This is the reason that I only ship domestically. I am sure that it does effect my sales but I am just trying to eliminate headaches. Sorry this happened to you. Take it as a free weekend off and relax for a couple days.

Ridiculous! What in the world are the "bots" and reps at eBay thinking? You should have never been suspended for this! As soon as you talked to a rep and explained what was going on, you should have not worried about it anymore! I'm so sorry this happened to you!

So sorry your going thru this. Unfortunately Ebay seems very quick to shut down a business, temporarily or permanently without any warning or ability for the seller to correct the issue. Your an excellent seller and a great asset to Ebay, they should be a little more understanding that this was not your fault.

I personally do not know too much about eBay I only sell on Poshmark. I have thought many times about listing on eBay, but stories like yours stop me from branching out. First I gotta say, I’ve been watching a long time I love your style and I think you deserve all success! I’ve been a PT low level eBay seller for years and it seems like eBay is shooting themselves in the foot with these impossible compliance hurdles. I would stop global shipping on most items , what other choice do you have? BTW I love the dream home challenge!

Do you have an online store that we can buy things without having to go through EBay? Your videos are very positive and I learn a lot from you. You’re always kind to the people that you encounter and I’ve seen you help so many people move tables etc while you’re out working and sourcing.

That’s horrible. eBay is screwing you over in more ways than one. This is a logistical nightmare all over a plush that may not have ever even gotten sold to anyone in the UK. 🙄 Anyone with common sense would see it’s fine to just ask you to remove the listing and go on with life. And that appeal process…🤬 I totally get your frustration there. Winning an appeal should never mean you’re not able to appeal anymore. eBay is a total dumpster fire right now 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ebay should fix there bann policy in reachout first and ban later .. so people can fix possible issues. So weird that they do not have that. Even if they charge u like. They delisted my two Baby Sharks for the UK recall and they weren't even the ones that got recalled. They were the Daddy ones with the light up belly. No suspension just delisted and a warning. Hundreds still on sale on ebay. Can see confirmed sales of even the recalled versions even today

Dude. eBay removed a product that they claimed to be counterfeit - it definitely isn't. When i asked "How did you determine this product was counterfeit? I did a 'sell similar' from another seller that had 47 of the same product SOLD. I added my own pictures but they are identical product....so how?" Im awaiting a response... they said i didn't describe it enough!!! wth! They told me I can relist it BUT THEY CAN'T REMOVE MY WARNING....How is this fair? I feel your pain, man.

Hi Dustin! I got this warning from Ebay yesterday as I too had a baby shark with sound listed which they removed. This is what they said: "Because you may not have been aware of this policy, we're sending this notice to educate you about it and ask that you follow this policy in the future." No suspension. It had been listed for over a year. You have a much bigger store than me (360 items) you would think they would appreciate you making money for them. I guess not!

3 days is nothing. I have had it happen a couple of times. I don't even bother messaging eBay any more because by the time they reply the 3 days is up.

I recently have been contemplating about signing up for the GSP for select countries. Having seen your video here, has solidified my decision to NOT sign up. I have one ding on me myself, in which I had an item removed from my listings. It was a novelty (not real) license plate style sign. I did not even resemble any official, current use plate for my state. I did not appeal the removal, fearing any future repercussion, or a long, drawn out appeal process in which I know I would end up winning. However, it appears that based on your experience on winning an appeal, you automatically lose your 1 win card. Pretty much a 1 won and done. I resell part time mainly on ebay, and will continue to do so, but I will be mindful of walking the ebay tightrope, and continue watching your excellent content, along with a few other resellers that I enjoy viewing and learning from, including the ones that have been permanently banned, but still provide excellent educational reselling content. I have been thinking a lot lately about getting rid of GSP the few sales here and there dont seem worth the headaches. Part i find to be BS is that if you list something not allowed to ship GSP they pull it down immediately and send warnings or suspensions, if they have tech for that why cant they just have that tech turn off of the GSP for those items

eBay needs to take a look at it's business model if you cannot dispute more than once.

There is someone else that had an issue and everyone she talked to gave a scripted responses as well. She did not even know what the issue was at first talking to the 3-4 people I think. It was a verification email she missed from email. I need to find her name but she did get her store back.

We become our parents as we age. I never thought I would repeat; “This world is going to hell in a hand basket. There’s no common sense left.”

Oh man! All of us take risk reselling products. I try and minimize that risk to the best of my ability but it's still there.

I enjoy your channel. You make a good presentation and are very informative. I wonder why EBay doesn’t just inform you of the problem and take the item off? Why do you have to be suspended. No more appeals? That’s insane. It’s a bad company that does not have appeal channels and customer services for both seller and buyers. An equitable arbitration. They make enough money to have these services. Do they ever get sued? They should have to answer to some authority. How very frustrating.

You can’t sell Tupperware via global shipping either because of weird regulations as well, and bans. When I got banned for three days I just shut down on my listings and relisted them on the fourth day and my sales went through the roof for the next week.

Since EBay is a global company, why can’t they have a master list themselves that would automatically tell a seller: “This item can’t be listed due to: VERO, banned in this country, etc.” That would stop a lot of work for EBay. They already have computers doing a lot of the work for them.

I've been selling on ebay for about 15 years and one of the first things I came to realize....Ebay is not my friend. If you treat them as an adversary then you are in the right palce.

I think just in general if you’re truly depending on eBay as an income you need multiple stores. It’s ridiculous and unreasonable to like you said check every item you sell to make sure it’s not recalled. I had 3 stores and had one perma banned years ago. Thinking about making another one. If my other store gets kicked off I’ll be down to one, so I want some cushion.
