I am looking at the fac track. I have a larger pack now from one of the big box outdoor stores. The shortest adjustment is 24 inches.

wow, great breakdown! Thanks for helping dial in my pack to fit perfect as opposed to just "okay"!

Perfect instructional video. I had watched several backpack videos about measuring torso height, but none specified exactly where to measure from and to for shoulder strap placement on the pack. Turns out I had to move the shoulder straps all the way to the bottom for my torso height. Huge difference on my Terminator!

Great video, guys. It was just what I needed to set up my Gunslinger pack. Had it out this weekend with about 50 pounds of gear and it just wasn't fitting right. Now I know why!

you guys make adjusting the back straps along the ladder look so easy. mine are so tight, i can't get the strap in.

Great video. Moving around the shoulder harness on the ladder is nearly impossible, though. It’s incredibly difficult to move the two Velcro straps into the notches.

What is the adjustability range of the frame in regards to torso length?

Dear Glenn i am wondering why there´s so much trouble to get a V90 Battleship Pack in military green colour? Ordered this one on march 6th this year by HQG Store, a german customer and he told me i´ll get the Pack end of march or beginning of april. Made a phonecall to them last week and they said me there´s no way to get one before june. What´s the reason for this issue? Regards, Andy

After the Concrete Stress Test video we made, the V90 surged in popularity. We sold out way quicker than expected and our lead times are about 4-6 months right now. That is why it has taken so long. We got caught off guard by the response to the video. Good problem to have for us, but our apologies go out to our consumers.

how tall is the guys in cm if I may ask? because when I measure myself and i am 169cm, my length for the backpack would be 49cm = 19,3 inch. I doubt that I am taller then him, his 19inch would be 48,3 cm
@Eberlestock
@Eberlestock 9 месяцев назад
Overall height isn't accurate and is why we suggest torso length. Everyone is proportioned differently, so I would suggest going off the torso measurement you got! That being said, I personally would say if you are under the 20inch mark, to still go with thee regular. I hope this helps!

@@Eberlestock thanks, I am just trying around here and found out that I need the shorter version of the hip belt ✌️

The V90 Battleship Pack looks promising in the carry system. However, why are so few manufacture addressing the correct operation of the load-lifter in a structured way? Every backpack fitter will tell you that load-lifters should have operating angle of 30-45 degree (like shown on V90 Battleship Pack). And more is better than less, if outside this range. However, pick any random backpack and you see that the back length is way too short for the load-lifters to operate correctly, instead load-lifters most often hang like snakes around the shoulders (as the other backpacks shown in this video). For small daypacks I understand that it is difficult to achieve sufficient back length. However, for any +50 liter backpack it should be possible to make adequate back lenght (+70-75cm) without making the dimensions too awkward. Considering how much they actually impact the feel of the load, why are the load-lifters so neglected in general?

Talking about the load lifers, I had to modify my Battleship pack to get good load lifter angle (30° to 45°). I think every packs out there are not perfect for your size unless it is tailor made like Kifaru.

Hi Mac. It really isn't as complicated as you're making it sound in our opinion. The short answer to your question is load-lifters aren't being neglected, they're really not the magic solution to carrying heavy loads that a lot of people make them out to be. When a pack is properly fit you should have about 80% of the weight on the hips. The remaining 20% will rest on the shoulders. The weight on the shoulders from the harness is most accurately adjusted using the torso length adjustments. The load lifter straps should be pulled just snug enough so that the harness fits in a natural curve over the shape of the shoulder. Load lifters aren't going to make the load disappear. Whether the angle is 30 degrees or 45 degrees it is going to function similarly. Get the pack adjusted to your body. Keep the weight high and tight to the frame. That is why a pack like the X2 which rides about 2 inches below the top of the shoulder and has load lifters that go from the back of the shoulder to the top of the shoulder, can comfortably carry 100lb+ loads.

@@Eberlestock , Basically you are saying that Sherpas don't understand load-carrying and that they are over-complicating things? Sorry, but I think you need to reconsider. Correctly operating load-lifter is the engineered replacement for the headband used by the Sherpas to keep the load directly against the spine for optimal carry position. Without correctly operating load-lifters the backpack start tilting outward in a sub optimal carry position as soon as you loosen the shoulder straps to achieve optimal weight distribution between shoulder/waist. Basic mechanics (Rotation around a fixed axis=waist belt). I have your first generation Gunslinger II. I like it in many ways. For such small bag it is ok that the back-length is too short, load-lifters hang as snakes around the shoulder, shoulders need to take all weight and the waist belt mainly suit decorative purposes. However, for your bigger models it would be both desirable and expected to find sufficient back-length and correctly operating load-lifters from a reputable maker as yourself.
@macmaster9840
@macmaster9840 5 лет назад
@@militarygearjunkie2522 For all backpacks with sufficient back-length the manufacture can easily add a few extra toggles at different height so that the load-lifters can be adjusted to correct angle for each shoulder harness setting. Some manufactures already do this. Unfortunately the common problem is that manufactures maker the back-length/frame too short so that there is not enough room above the shoulder harness to fit the load-lifters in correct angle. For these backpacks there is no fix and they will always carry like a potato bag. It is trivial from every backpack fitting guide what is needed so I honestly don't know why manufactures make this error. Perhaps Eberlestock can give a good explanation.

@@macmaster9840 definitely agreed with you. For more information, you can find a good explanatory video about the load lifters from Kifaru channel.

My Operator Pack is Part one of my go-bag setup. It is set up to be always ready to go. While I may never have to grab my go bags and hit the road, so to speak, in today's climate it would be absolutely foolish not to be as prepared as you can be. Setting the pack up properly is of critical importance. Once you head out you don't know how long you'll be out or what you will have to face. The longer you can go without fatigue setting in the better off you are. It could mean the difference between success and failure. Failure is not an option.
