Hi. Shimano doesn't really provide a lot of space to place the chip and cover the motor. But it is definitely possible, we tested it personally with our employees :-) We recommend a little patience. Take it as a challenge.

I have a Husqvarna MC7 with EP8 motor. Will this work for my bike. Right now I am limited to about 19.5 miles an hour with assist, after that I am pedalling on my own?
Ya need to install several NOTICES/WARNINGS. Doing "This," is gonna consume more battery juice. Especially if you are a heavy rider and/or lots of ascents. And doing so seems to affect the warranty, as I have sent my EP8 for servicing and I had to pay out-of-pocket! And check your state laws on e-bikes. There are power/battery restrictions. Lastly: If the motor works fine, why mess-with-it?
Hi. Battery consumption is of course higher when tuning is turned on and the highest assistance is enabled. If you want to save battery, turn on maximum power mainly on longer straights. We also recommend always uninstalling SpeedBox and clearing TRIP before visiting a bike repair shop to prevent tuning detection.
Bonjour, je viens d’acheter un boîtier pour mon canyon Neuron:on 7 et ça ne fonctionne pas. Tout est bien branché, la lumière est activée dans le menu et rien toujours limité à 25km/h ! 😢 qu’est ce qui pourrait ne pas fonctionnent ? J’ai la revérifier plusieurs les connections tout est bien branché. Que puis je faire ? Il y avait déjà une cosse rouge d’origine sur la borne +. Le principe comment allumer la SpeedBox est suivant: les lumières dans la position OFF = la SpeedBx ON les lumières dans la position ON = la SpeedBx OFF Si vous avez les lumières allumées, la SpeedBox ne va donc pas fonctionner. Si les lumières sont obligatoires ou vous voulez les laisser allumés, il faut brancher la fourchette rouche (=le connecteur de la SpeedBox) dans la vis du Moins (-) et la SpeedBox sera toujours activée, ensemble avec les phares. Hello, First, please verify the full name of the EP8 motor. Shimano sometimes labels the EP800 motors this way, which are compatible with our chip. They also label the EP801 motors this way, with which the SpeedBox is not yet compatible. Thank you.

Hello. If the W101 error occurs on the SpeedBox 1.3, the motor should not lock up. Please try to check the position of the magnet or uninstall and reinstall the SpeedBox and check that the connectors fit together correctly. Or if there is no damage to any connector. Thank you.

Hello. There is always a way to get at the wires. On some types of motors, the cover is very small, but all the wires are hidden under it. If you don't know what to do, send us a question with a photo on Messenger, IG or by email info@speedbox-tuning.com
If there is a problem with the bike and you get a warranty, can bike or motor company know if it is installed or not by looking at the log record? As far as I know, most companies don't apply the warranty if they know that they have unlocked speed limit.
Hello. Tuning installation is always a bit on the edge. But if no error occurs while driving, no one will detect that a SpeedBox was connected to the motor during diagnostics. If you take your e-bike to a bicycle service, we recommend that you always uninstall the SpeedBox from the motor first.
@@takuuu173 The "+E-Tube port" variant is intended for e-bikes without a free E-Tube port - usually e-bikes with one of these components: Satellite System ON/ OFF Switch Di2 (electronic gear shifting system)

The presence of tuning does not interfere with updates. However, electric motors and software (firmware) are constantly evolving. For purely preventive reasons, we prefer not to perform updates unless they are necessary. Or first remove the SpeedBox from the e-bike, update the firmware and install the SpeedBox back.
Ok. Thank you. So in general terms it does not interfere. Probably best option then is if doing an update once every 500kms just remove it.. Also install uodates before putting the box on. I love the security feature of being able to keep the motor off and speed to 15km with a password. So when not using the bike keep it like this. Also I love the big screen so you can see the entire trip and motr funcyioning while biking on your phone screen. That is on the version that I can use with the Speedbox App.

If you do not have the light button activated from the factory, you have two options: a) have the light button activated at a service center b) purchase the version www.speedbox-tuning.com/p/speedbox-1-3-b-tuning-for-shimano#1639 with Bluetooth, through which you can pair the chip with the SpeedBox App. You can then activate/deactivate the tuning directly in the app.

Shimano also labels EP8 motors with the full name EP801, with which our chip is not compatible. The e-bike will not be damaged, but the chip will not work.
Hello. If the lights are turned off, SpeedBox is activated. The chip can be deactivated by turning on the lights. If you want to use tuning independently of the lights, do not connect the red wire during installation, like that the tuning will be always activated. If you do not have lights on your e-bike, SpeedBox 1.3 will also be activated at all times.
@@SpeedBoxTuning So on the variant without the tuning - when you double tap the lights 2x does it make lights off- chip active and if pressed again x2, lights off chip not active? Or only lights off - active, lights - on not active?
I would buy this instantly if you could have it display the correct speed on the display. Why is this not possible? I'm definitely not mounting my phone to my handlebars just to view accurate speed.
Hello. Simply put: the electronic communication in the Shimano e-bike is complexly encrypted and it is currently almost impossible to completely eavesdrop on it so that the display shows real values. For this reason, we only produce the 1st generation SpeedBox for Shimano. The B.Tuning version offers many other features and benefits like real values, speed limit settings and other riding data.

Ça ne marche pas ça ! Il faut éventuellement downgrader et passer par une application payante mais beaucoup ont eu des gros problème avec ça, obligé de finir chez un revendeur Shimano pour reconfigurer le moteur. Je ne jouerais pas. Mais c’est dommage.
Hello Sergey. No, for Shimano is not possible to display a real speed for now - only up to 23 km/h. You can see the real speed in the SpeedBox App if you order the B.Tuning version :)

Hello. In general, we do not guarantee the continuation of the warranty on the e-bike. But: We recommend not to perform software updates while SpeedBox is installed. If it needs an update or a service visit, first uninstall the SpeedBox from your e-bike. Then the tuning should not be detectable and you don't have to lose the warranty.
