I was lucky enough to do an internship in 2013. although.... it was more of an own study and live concerts on friday....the smell of....50 years together synths..umami? no... it smells like keyboards ;) gert prix is an his wive and the whole team is an great A!!
I seriously considered starting a classic synth and Mellotron museum in the late 80's and early 90's when you could buy them for nothing. I had a few trial open houses after I collected and restored 46 keyboards. It did not stir the interest back then and after a less than pleasant experience with a visitor, and a subsequent alert from my insurance provider, the project became my personal collection which I have been selling off to select people for the last 18 years. I'm in no hurry, but when I meet a person with real interest in owning, not reselling, one of my instruments, I make them an offer they seldom refuse. Getting a photo from a gentlemen and his young daughter from Georgia, who bought my ARP collection and a Yamaha CS-50, showing them being played at an outdoor music festival, was a real treat for me. And my newest friend from Nebraska, who bought the remainder of my Korg Collection and my Celestial Circuits Pro One, sent me photos of his setup and seeing his excitement, (he's a college student) and knowing how many years he will be enjoying them is exactly what I want to do with them. So I was close to having an open to the public museum of keyboards in the Midwest USA, but I seem to have been a bit too early for the interests and trends of the time, This was a very cool keyboard video and I enjoyed every snippet of the performances as well.
There is however the amazing Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix, Arizona which has a lot of keyboard instruments (not to mention literally a musical instrument section for every single country in the world and hi definition wireless headphones to hear the music).
@@dkrasivov Thanks!, Do you know what album it's on Dmitry? BTW I have a B3 and a C3, and 4 leslies. But I only play a lightweight Hammond clone for gigs now. lol
