Envy loves proving a point when he thinks he has one. 😩 His body language from the beginning says he ain’t tryina hear her because he got somethin to say. Aside from who she wants to date, she clarified exceptional/mediocre with facts and data and he still wanted to tussle. 😂

Thank you - I was watching on my tv and had to break out the iPad DJ Envy obviously was ready to fight because of how he feels about his parents and what they did for him WHILE BEING AVERAGE WORKING CLASS… Ebony is def on point and she made the same point over and over and over again! @@pobj6723 the idea that you believe that sexual value and life value are equal speaks to the lack of education she pointed out using factual statistics. If saying “oh she’s not sexually attractive” makes you feel better about making 1/8 of what she makes, fine. But that doesn’t change the fact that you focus on the superficial because she has what men like you wish they had, which is money and status 😂😂😂. And you trying to brainwash women to equating the two will not be sustainable when the facts come into play.

I think Envy implying that Eboni is shitting on bus drivers is being disingenuous. It’s not about the profession, it’s more about one’s ambition and progression. She didn’t say she wouldn’t date a bus driver, she said if he owned the bus… meaning as long as he’s progressed beyond just driving the bus. Eboni is about 40 years old and her resume speaks for itself. She wants to build a life with someone who has accomplished more in life.

‼️ eboni k Williams is CORRECT. I'mma put my business on front Street I only make $20 an hour and I agree with everything this woman is saying. Y'all dudes are weak. Just because you're a nice person someone is supposed to take you in no matter your conditions ⁉️ stop acting like y'all would date a homeless nice person. People have a right to their standards. When you're trying to be an entrepreneur you are advised by experts to surround yourself around alike individuals. You don't think it's extremely important/necessary for that alike individual to be your sexual/life partner. If a woman told me I have to get my bread up before being in her life I wouldn't be mad. Just like I wouldn't expect a homeless woman to be mad at me if I tell her she has to upgrade her life if she wants to be with me. Y'all are weak and emotional.

when eboni started mentioning statistics I FELT THAT. that’s what drove her point home for me. it’s about mindset. the cards been stacked against us. now we have google and we have social media. the opportunity to think outside the box is THERE. the opportunity to maximize your skill set is THERE. we have opportunities that other generations didn’t. knowledge is democratized bc of the internet, and knowledge is POWER. parents should keep expecting greatness from their kids without putting undue pressure on them. my parents didn’t play around about that and it was the discipline I NEEDED. i know my talented a$$ can’t work certain minimum wage jobs bc i care *more* about maximizing my skill set. i know there are systemic issues we’re still dealing w as a community, but it shouldn’t be an excuse for community-wide complacency.

What Envy said was powerful. A lot of black people are starting from such a place of disadvantage that the best thing they can do is work their asses off so that they can pass the baton to their children; so their children actually get a fair shot. We grow by operating as a community, not just thinking about what is best for us as individuals and optimizing our individual potential. Just like on a basketball team, it's not for everyone to score. Sometimes you need to set a screen. You won't be presenting yourself in the best light individually, but if you really care about what's best for the collective, you'll do it.

Eboni is 1000% right in what she said. The whole point she made was basically bringing home a “C” when you KNOW you are capable of bringing home an “A”. If the C you bring home is your absolute best then that’s great and you are exceptional. BUT if you the accept the C just because it’s passing and “good enough” when you KNOW you can achieve that A THATS when you are average, mediocre, etc. Basically the black community can’t afford for everyone to be that definition of average/mediocre. We are dying and stuck because of it and refusal to acknowledge you are accepting to be average/mediocre just bc it’s hurts your feelings is a huge disadvantage to the black community and where we could be if we didn’t let those feelings get in the way of greatness. We as a community have to hold ourselves accountable for accepting less than what we are capable of just bc it’s good enough and being called out on it makes us feel bad.

The problem is a lot of black folks get in their feelings when the conversation is about class, money, and our overall position in this society. Eboni is right! By the year 2050 the black community will be a underclass. We deflect from these conversations because it doesn’t make us feel good but if the conversation was about giving praise, everyone would be for it. We will not change without having these hard conversations. Coddling feelings won’t help them achieve greatness. Eboni is part of the problem. Where's her family at? The richest people in the world are families, people only talk about the individual billionaires on Forbes to confuse you. Every race and nationality that has done well in the states and actually has a piece of the American pie are families and cultures that are derived from those families. The biggest problem black people face(mostly black women) is not having traditional family values. Families make a community and build a nation. The worst thing that can happen is that a woman priorities a career and puts creating and nurturing a family on the back burner. It's a multi level catastrophic loss. The woman enriches the power structure by spending her time and efforts there, the children raise themselves which is never good, the women give away the families wealth to fast food/eating out(which are many multi million and multi billion dollar institutions) this also opens the door for health problems that shorten lifespan and quality of life, the woman is likely to have less kids or no kids at all(meaning population growth and voting power is stagnant or declining), the men become weak because of the ease of sex with working women using birth control to adopt a sex in the city lifestyle, and one the worst things to ever happen is that black women don't care about babies anymore and became the number one killer of black life through abortion. All of these things are the result of women and their choices to pursue careers and reject traditional female culture. They want black women to pursue careers because that keeps the community distracted and in constant chaos. The women would nurture the whole community by healing with food, providing care and medicine, empathy, teaching, and encouraging. This would boost morale, keep violence to a minimum, and more importantly take care of the man who will have to sacrifice his health and energy to build a better future for the next generation, along with leading, protecting, and providing for the current one.

She is a good lawyer. She affectively changed the narrative from "I'm too good for the average man because of my income" (which is just fine) to "I'm trying to uplift black people from mediocracy." The issue is that there is a cost to financial success; a cost that is not worth it for many. If you are a successful woman that wants a relationship with a man that cost is more than doubled. So, if you choose that path make sure the grind is your reward because the grind may be all you have in the end.

I agree 100% with what she is saying. I say this all the time, the need for skills & certifications is essential. The only problem I have, it is assumed that Black Americans are okay with kids getting c’s & d’s in school; then, going to college and not excelling. Absolutely no way have I ever been okay with that, and it’s in poor taste, to think that most of us are okay with it. Life is like a circle: church, family, community, and education. All facets are important and must be aligned. When one is off, it affects the other. Not saying, there won’t be much success, but it’ll be harder to attain. For instance, Eboni comes from a single parent household; yet, her family life didn’t stop her from achieving anything. The biggest attainment out of the four is education. There won’t be much skill set without it. Not only just education, but people need to UNDERSTAND the importance of it, and understand WHY it’s needed or conceptualism. It’s like learning math. It would be hard to learn the different lessons of math, without learning the concepts first. Some people may not know the importance of understanding why skill sets are needed.

Instead the words mediocrity and mediocre always suggest disappointment. A mediocre play is one you wish you hadn't wasted an evening on, and the mediocre actor in it should probably find another profession. A person can even be called a mediocrity, though it isn't very nice and you'd never do it to his face.

Two things are true: black people shouldn’t settle although that’s easier said than done considering the systemic racism we face, 2. she was also insulting. @teeblack2875
@teeblack2875 Год назад
@@jtrippjr can we agree that the qualifications to be a bus driver are average or mediocre, at best? That’s the point. The person driving the bus can be exceptional, but is driving the bus all that you are and all that you can do?
@jtrippjr
@jtrippjr Год назад
@@teeblack2875 we don’t know the circumstances that could cause someone to drive a buss and then they end up loving it and are content with it. Bus drivers in Atlanta make upwards $23/24 an hour. That’s not mediocre. I’ve hired accountants that earn less than that. Let’s be clear, the frustration with Eboni is not that anyone should settle but who says being a bus driving is settling and let’s remember, this conversation started from her energy about the idea of dating a buss driver, not that he wanted to remain one. While what she’s saying is true, it’s muddying the waters and once you strip all the noise down, at the end of the day, she belittled bus drivers. Her energy said it, her words said it and she doubled down on it here. And as someone who’s made six figures and hasn’t made it, I didn’t marry someone because they made what i made or had the same level of career i have. i married someone that was down for me, loved me unconditionally, and was good to me. If i judged my spouse based on what she said, then I would have skipped out on the best thing. Lastly, my uncle retired as a buss driver, married for over 35 years, and has bought my aunt houses and cars and everything else. So being a bus driver is not mediocre by a long shot. It depends on the man driving the bus. Based on her logic, then most of working class America is out here settling. Cause I’m sure she wouldn’t date an insurance agent, a Walmart manager, a nurse either based on her logic. All of those are mediocre jobs. Based on her dictionary definition. “Standard, average and mediocre” - nothing exceptional - standard.
@teeblack2875
@teeblack2875 Год назад
@@jtrippjr they keyword you used is “content”. Content means it’s “enough”. If it’s enough for the person driving the bus then that’s fine. That’s the person she is NOT wanting to date. It’s not belittling. I think the words were definitely harsh, blunt, matter of fact, and to the point, but very true. Those are average jobs. The people can be exceptional, your uncle for example, but that doesn’t change the fact that the jobs are average or basic and there’s nothing wrong with wanting a person who’s perusing more and isn’t content because it makes them happy.

@nkabyocz the most important thing is rich in character right. Woman in every demo go to school more than men. I work at a warehouse, I make 100k. Both my kids graduate hs this year. I'm an average man. I raised my boys right. They have bright futures. We have to let the men who doing the dirty work that the communities back stand on feel valued.

@@fanaticbox I get what you’re saying and congrats to you. But that is not the average or even common. And also she never said there was anything wrong with average. People put a negative connotation to it. I get that her message is “rude” but a lot of people in our community must hear it. There’s so many kids that don’t want to go to school, college, community college, trade school, anything for that matter and decide to do illegal activities to gain money. Then they promote it to others and then push it on to younger people. The cycle doesn’t end until we make an effort to end it.

TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!! Envy stood UP and Grounded for us "Mediocre Average" people, all while holding himself together because you can tell he was getting highly offended and wanted to go in, but couldn't. Eboni (whack azz) did a LOT of back-peddling and her aggressive ("better than") tone didn't help much. And I loved how Envy clapped back at her with the "but your ex-fiance was white"... Eboni is a bunch of Horse S**t if you ask me, and that's why her azz is single and searching for love. She's dark and tainted on the inside and needs to seek some emotional healing.

Eboni is on point 100%. Everyone has to enter somewhere in the workforce, however, you shouldn't end you work life in the same place you started. There are 24hrs. in a day, 8hrs. working, 8hrs. sleeping what about the other 8hrs.? What are you doing to excel? The excuse everyone wants to use is, "they can't afford to get educated in other skillsets". That's BS. There are platforms now where you can learn skills without spending $50k for a degree. Udemy, Skillshare, Coursera, RU-vid, and dozens of other inexpensive eLearning platforms where you can learn anything from coding, mechanics, music theory, and thousands of other skills. Some of us get it, because didn't want to be "mediocre" so we've been through that journey to stop driving the bus, and become a career professional without having tens of thousands of dollars for degrees. Keep spreading that message. People get triggered because they know they're not doing everything they could be doing to move up. So, instead of addressing it and doing the work they feel better when they point fingers finding fault in others who are doing better than themselves. Haters. ❤

We don’t own as much as other groups and it’s all for a variety of reasons. One reason is ignorance of The facts which unfortunately Envy and Weezie weren’t hearing. Too many of us accept mediocre grades, and have only one plan to make a living. Envy described parents who had multiple streams of income so she wasn’t speaking to them. I heard her say average, mediocre, etc is okay if that is where you are at your best state, however, if you have the potential to grow higher give it all you got. She needs a man to match that. Her answer to the question of the bus driver was loaded she was saying I want a man that's free not one bound to one option regardless of the profession. People who heard bus driver and thought that meant broke loser added their perspective and worldview. You never want to take generalized statements and make them personal. Many people in the comment section have a lot of personal growth work to do so that they can be more understanding of what's being said and see even more substantial growth.

Average is Not bad and she repeatedly said there is Nothing wrong with average. She was speaking to those that Want and Desire More from their lives. I have a great job in healthcare and I want More out of my job and life, as I am Average within my level at this moment. It's not saying my job is average its more so Where I want to be and I am NOT there Yet, so I am living an average life, for me. She said if you're okay with C's and D's then God bless you. Everyone can't hold your hand and make sure your feelings don't get hurt. But it doesn't mean she can't or isn't uplifting people. She's stern and direction and in that space is her nurture. Eboni's comment about black Americans being disproportionately in "working class" jobs hit hard. I mean, there's nothing wrong with an honest job, but we need to push ourselves to be better and not settle. I can’t tell you how many intelligent black men skip college just because they didn’t like school. We gotta change that. What you said is true, but we have to create our own businesses as well. You make it seem like getting an education/trade or whatever will guarantee your success in this country, but we all know it won't due to racial discrimination. If you have ever worked in a corporation ran mostly by whites like I have then you know that qualifications, and being the best person for the job won't always get you where you want to be if you're black. Even when you do "get there" in these places you will often be taken through pure h*ll while you hold whatever position you've reached.

We should all thrive to be the best version of ourselves...BUT, that has nothing to do with being with a person, a spouse, who is going to have the best qualities for the family unit! If he is a provider (even driving buses), he's a great spouse and a great dad, protector and supportive of his spouse and kids dreams, WTF else can you ask for, for the family unit?!! When you start bringing in $$$, careers, what people do, that has destroyed the family unit in many cultures and is the driving force...scripture says, money is the root of all evil...this is no different! Again, this has nothing to do with or nor has any business being applied to the family unit! Dating leads to love, love leads to marriage, marriage leads to family...if you decline at dating, you're placing a number/value on love and family...period!

My interpretation of Eboni's interview is that there's nothing wrong with blue collar jobs, however, when blacks as a collective are occupying the blue collar space more than other races AND are the most in poverty, then this is a problem. Not the blue collar work itself... if blue collar work is not getting us out of poverty alone then as a collective seeking more skill sets to make more money, resulting in curving the poverty scale away from blacks...
