If the hundred was successful, the BCCI would have been all over it two years ago. The focus of the ECB must be in using the blast as an introduction for youngsters into cricket, then developing the red ball county game whilst protecting the integrity of the 5 day test match. More effort should have gone into what we already have.

Richard Gould’s claim that India playing five tests in Australia this coming Australian summer is a meaningless boast. It does not mean that there is more test cricket - it just means that there is one team touring rather than two. He comes across in the interview as a used car salesman. Why can countries not share revenues 50/50 for home and away series? That is, the overall revenue generated by England from the West Indies tour and then the next tour by England to the West Indies is combined and split down the middle. You cannot play with yourself! Lastly, the Hundred is the most idiotic idea in the last century of cricket.

@JohnBolton-z5f
@JohnBolton-z5f Месяц назад
@@barrymcmanmon9595 You need first class warm up matches before and, preferably also, between test matches. This test series is a perfect example. Jayden Seales played a number of first class matches for Sussex earlier in the summer and has been by far the best West Indian bowler. In contrast, Shamar Joseph turned up a couple of days before the first test and has not been fully fit, let alone been ready to bowl in a test match. The West Indies are only starting to get into their stride now and it is the last test match. The tour itinerary has set them up to fail.
@JohnBolton-z5f
@JohnBolton-z5f Месяц назад
The idea behind a test tour was to represent your country, test your skills against the best from another country in different conditions and tour that country, soak up its culture etc. it was to be an ambassador and to do your country proud. It was not to earn silly points for a so-called world championship, which is so compromised as to be meaningless anyway. It was also not to complain that you can earn more money by bowling four overs in a Mickey Mouse entertainment show. Those players simply show that they are either greedy, lazy or both.

@rangergaming8316
@rangergaming8316 Месяц назад
@@ce11amitkumaryadav83 that is not the BCCI's revenue and it never was. That is the ICC's revenue that they generate from their tournaments. You're the one smoking something because a decade ago, each full member used to 6.5% from the ICC while associates received 35% put together which has gone down to just 11% while the BCCI alone has gone by 6.5% to 38% while every other full member has stayed at the same spot or gone down in their share. It is indeed unfair distribution because again, this is the ICC's revenue and they're the sport's global body and it's their job to use their revenue to grow the sport and not hand it over to a certain board. No one is talking about the BCCI using their revenue generated from the IPL or any other domestic contract they have to grow the sport. There's a clear difference between the ICC's revenue and the BCCI's revenue. The BCCI also doesn't need the ICC's revenue to survive while most associate members do.

The BCCI makes back multiple of what they receive from the ICC from the IPL alone.
