I decided to take a tour of Eccles before it was finally demolished esp the Multi storey Car Park. I will be remembering from the late 1970s to early 80s when I was here on Saturday mornings going to Eccles Library with my dad. I was around 7 years old. Im 53 now and it was definitely a nostalgic walk.

Used to love Play Inn! Spent all my pocket money in there on albums when I was a kid in the 80's :)

Blimey, that Greggs is still there! Remember Cider Bri? He was always hanging around outside there and that 99p shop.

Done the same myself. I managed to go onto the first floor next to the car park. Close up one floor up, it really is in a bad state.

So sad to see the place in this state. So many memories as a child. I remember all the shops being full and hundreds of people everywhere you looked. And yes I always wanted to know what was at the top of the ramp but my dad always went in the underground bit of the car park 😂

@ross9555 I tried to get up close but it wasnt possible to get anywhere near the top, gates closed and no authorisation signs everywhere. I tried to cover as much as I could though. Soon be part 2 when the old place starts getting demolished. Very sad for me.

No Salford maternity meaning no Salford born…only if home birth… 3 floors in hope hospital back in day. Not a open unit now.. got a unit on ingleside it’s temporary closed as usual…

Used to eat my dinner on here when i went to college up the road. Be sad to see the place be smashed to bits but its massively out of date now, it does need flattening.

It's definitely an eye sore mate 😂😂😂 looks horrendous that multi story building. The only thing that's worse in Salford is the Swinton Library

Lived here (not here specifically thankfully), but within the M30 postcode, for 20 years. This area really needs investment, evidently. Lots of great people live in Eccles, looks like a third world country now though, impoverished.
