Echidna in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park 

There were crunching and scratching noises coming from the brush next to the path near the Sphinx Memorial in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. It turned out to be a big Echidna rummaging about in the brush. While they are shy animals, they are not scared of humans and it is easy to get a close look of them. However, it is always a good idea to leave them be after taking a quick look as to not stress them out.
