A beautiful, dark-green variety of Echinodorus 'Ozelot', 20-50 cm tall and a 20-40 cm wide rosette. The dark spots form a bigger contrast on the light leaves. The leaf margin is fluted. A nutritious bottom promotes growth. It is an easy and highly recommended plant, which thrives in almost all conditions.

I like the emersed for better than the submersed form.

Most of my leaves aren't green at all... They're a red brown color with darker red spots. Some of the leaves are still green with dark spots like these. Plant doesn't seem like it's dying, and I've got ecocomplete substrate with medium light. Gonna start dosing with Flourish excel today. Any ideas on what this could be?

Could it be the Echinodorus 'Ozelot' and not the green variety maybe? Tropica makes both. See the plant here tropica.com/en/plants/plantdetails/Echinodorus'Ozelot'(073F)/4520

That looks about right! That's the problem with having to buy plants from Petco, they're often mislabeled or only have half the information. Thanks for reassuring me!

Hey Lance, yes it should work. The echinodorus tends to be quite resilient.

Do u need root tabs for these? Or any fertilizer?

You need fertiliser for all plants if you want them to thrive and grow. Nutrition Capsules is a great solution for Echinodorus types, as they absorb nutrients through their roots. Small carpeting plants mostly absorb through their leaves and you'll need to add liquid fertiliser such as Specialised Nutrition to the water column.

Will the tabs cause issues forvthe fish though?
