*Coming up on having had this saw for a year....am a casual user and bought it to cut up sections for bowl blanks. Easy to start, **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend even after storage for a couple of months. Simple chain tension adjustment. Just cut up some 20" Osage Orange, including ripping bolts in half (at an angle). Like butter!*
Dan Collins he probly didnt let it warm up i have 310 its a cold natured saw specially when they are new as his appears to be after about 5min they wa and run great
The echo needs carb tuned i run stihl and echo saws but i run stihl chains on all of them and Oregon bars on the echos. My Stihls run good but pound for pound dollar for dollar echo wins everytime. I have a cs400 probably 8 years old maybe more and that thing is a jewel ive never been disappointed by its been flawless the nearest size saw i have to compare it to is my stihl ms271farmboss that 10cc's bigger and alot heavier but the cs400 still cuts nearly as strong as it after i opened the exhaust up an removed the carb limiter caps and tuned its carb its very impressive for a 40cc class saw and always been very reliable.
Steven Gonzales I have the same echo cs310. Badass saw , starts with 2 pulls. No issues what so ever. Haven't had any malfunctions ..doesn't like cheap gas station gas so I switched to the echo power fuel. Great stuff
@@Whalermansteve84 get non ethanol gas . Ethanol is hard on the carb and seals. This goes for all small engins- even thou some do better than others. MAYBE SOON they will take it out of regular fuel. I just had to replace a power valve in my truck's holley carb because of this. The ethanol attacked the rubber diaphram in it.
Couldn't get the echo stuck with the stihl. I'm an echo dude wish I could of gotten it. Ran the echo srm130 against the sthil frm90 for years echos don't die. The sthil might have more power but echo listens more to the person controlling it, much more forgiveness.
Cee. Mitchell quit being such a safety Sally, he is a grown man, I think he can make his own decisions, I don't wear chaps either, im not going to spend the money on them.
Caps are a good idea regardless if your a grown man because if you fuck up and that chain touches your leg, you'll get a cut right down to the bone instantly.
+sjeverett75 makes absolutely no difference where on the bar you cut from either close to the saw or close to the tip,, you will get the same time if you are timing it
I've had an echo cs-310 for 6 years I live in the woods and use it constantly!... the chain on the echo in this video is dull... lol lol My 6 year old echo will go through that tiny log twice as fast.
+Supreme Services Lawn Care both of them to be honest,,, but i think the stihl has a bit of an edge,,, i replaced the sealed carb with a wt215 carb which is fully adjustable and opened up the muffler,, i think the stihl is my go to saw
I have never used an Echo saw, but do have a Stihl saw (MS-250) which have been a piece of junk for me. I got better results from an older Poulan Pro saw which still works, but need to be checked again.
pretty sure he had just took the cat out of the muffler and it was still running rich... i saw some other videos where they were running right...scotts pretty good with saws....im sure he started rich like i would when i tune in wood with my echos... then you gradually lean it out.... it was four stroking in the wood still both were... a 1/4 turn i bet would have made it just right....
Echo makes good products, I am not downplaying them. My dad has old Echo saws that still run, however, there are still only two bosses in the woods, and that is Stihl and Husky. Echo is a great homeowner saw, and the five year warranty is nothing to shy away from. The biggest thing that some (not all) look for is the repair. How easy is it to find and replace major parts such as piston and cylinders? I don't see very many replacements. It can be a small homeowner Stihl, like the MS170, and you can find replacement piston and cylinder for very little. Mind you, the saw is cheap enough that it would be easier to just buy a new, but this is just an example. That said, for what they are, Echo makes a product that works for what people need.
Only downside of echo is that the parts take about 2 weeks to arrive. But no other. I would rather take echo than husky or stihl. Just because Im used to them. I do have 2 stihl pro saws, one chinese copy which was just for fun and husqvarna 394 which I rarely use since its a bit on the heavy side. Even professional loggers only find pathetic excuses to bash on echo, none of them are true. Pretty much it all comes down to which brand can supply parts the fastest and cheapest, stihl is the winner there since most of their stuff is made in china.
