My coil does not give spark thru a spark plug or screw driver but if I touch the screw driver it shocks me. So why does it not give spark but it shocks me if I touch it! spark plugs are totally good too I believe it’s the coil but should it still be shocking me even tho it doesn’t work???

if the spark test shows no spark first id disconnect the kill wire from the coil. it's the small one. still no spark? bad coil. here is a cheap spark tester, amzn.to/3F0Tun0

So I threw my trimmer and now I can't get clearance between the flywheel and the magnet on the coil. Is there a possibility of bending that somehow? When I pull on the string it binds and the magnet is scoring the flywheel.

the little wire to the coil is kill wire. disconnect it from coil. try again. wire could be grounding out or switch is bad. you can choke and full throttle to stop it
