Kozuchi Osu - THIS IS THE BEST DEFINITION FOR PINK FLOYD, THAT I HAVE EVER LEARNED, READ OR HEARD - you are an amazing person, sir- kudos from Romania, Gelu Batir , may, 2023
If I could write and execute the perfect music that I could ever conceive, it is Pink Floyd. They are the music. No other band in life has even come close to the sublime exactness of what I would want them to do in my minds eye.
Back in 1972 I seen this very music performed live😊 with their Eclipse machine in full activation at Carnigie Hall NY! A sight beyond imagination, living and breathing light show! God I miss that show if we could have seen it one more time!!
Echoes live at Pompei is a classic.... however, this one too is class apart! Hats off to Gilmour and Wright for this 'out of the world' rendition! Salute to u for making my last 40 years trips!!
I have to check, but the mental TIME clock went off, indicating a memory flogger was gaining consciousness in my cerebral Floyd Ness file! 40 years ago today, June 9,1977, I saw Pink Floyd Animals tour, my second of nine Ly-Floydic moments in my B-movie space journey! The Thai stick, the Quadrophonic sound, the inflatables, Flaming Jet, and of course the First of reoccurring Pigs, set those moments in TIME! SADLY, no ECHOES, for an encore, unlike 1975, complete with video enhancements, and a saxophone break, but....40 years ago...I want to relive that momentary lapse of reality, for a better one ( or was that the Thai stick, talking!) Thanks for the hour!
Possibly the moment when humankind peaked. The Universe will keep spinning as long as someone plays this immortal masterpiece, it's the kind of magic that gives birth to life in the coldest places and defeats evil and darkness I know in my soul that Pink Floyd is not a band : it's an instrument, channeled by Creation to tell us "be amazed, that's the meaning of life; also, have some mushrooms and join me for a timeless moment"
This is a great thought: "The moment when humankind peaked". Never thought about that moment. Hm....when I see what's now going on I would say that is right. That was the peak.
@@hans-jorgeygerd9044grew up late sixties , 70s , married had daughter in 80s , 90s divorce, life has it's good and bad times. Non of it made feel like the way I felt the past few years or so. Some of this music has the deep dark sounds of world starting to moan the pains of horror we are seeing today. Unreal
Echoes was my very first love when I was ten in 1972, on a vinyl 33... 45 years after, it seems to me it will be the also last one .... In between there was of course Atom heart Mother, Momentary Lapse of reason, Shine on you crazy Diamond, The wall, etc...
One of my fave early Pink Floyd listens was side2 of Atom Heart Mother, it was so melodic when compared with Saucerful of Secrets; it was so relaxing after a night of acid tearing my brain apart. Side1 of AHM was pure psychedelic acid trip, and so when Meddle arrived on the scene it was the perfect follow on for a night in outer space. Albatross is so re-entry, gentle landing music, indeed Echoes could take you places you'd never find without it. Thanks.
I used to LOVE making breakfast eggs with mushrooms to that album, them put on headphones and go for a fall mountain bike ride through the gorgeous mountain colors of Steamboat Springs, Colorado with the sound and feel of the fallen leaves under my eyes and the cool and crisp air just energizing me, which was compounded by the fantastic music of Floyd... Undeniably amazing and untouchable!!
I am 77 and I feel like you do my friend from across this great earth. PF is timeless and their music will live on for eternity. This cut, I can’t say enough about it. It is phenomenal. God bless you.
With 60 seconds to go, take a big toke of your favorite blend, hold your breath and close your eyes, until you hear nothing from the speakers! That's how we got our buzz on when this album came out. I never had the chance to see them live. But by getting my buzz on as described above, you can imagine how a live performance would have knocked you down to your knees! All time best "LET'S GET F----D UP MUSIC."
I actually saw them on their very last tour when "Division Bell" was released. Was in U.S., Washington D.C. back in the 90's. I've been to ALOT of Concerts, But NOTHING Compares to Pink Floyd Live! And the sweet smell of Ganga in the air! 🇺🇸✌️❣️
Terima kasih Pink Floyd - I Love You !
I drive a lot at work and nothing is more satisfying in driving than reaching a destination as an epic floyd album or song comes to a close. Turns the whole trip into a journey
@@rnw2032I love listening to extended versions like these while closing off all negativity, meditating in my mind, whether it be yoga, relaxation or going to sleep. It's so gratifying 🇺🇸🌻☮️🐖🌈🐖✌️🌸🔮🍄♊️🌕🌔🌓🌑🍄🙏❣️ May peace & love follow All my Pink Floyd Friends
did buy the record in the early 70's had a stereo player and I divided te the wires so I had double stereio.. lying on my back on a matress , I played it again and again and again. Now now more than 40 years later I can't get enough.
We, my 6yr old daughter and I, listen to this going to sleep some nights, And sometimes Lofi Girl.. lol.. she, my daughter, does love some Pink Floyd though... Gotta raise them right..
I agree. Watch this segment in David Gilmour's live incarnation of it at the Royal Albert Hall in 2006 (Remember That Night). I was there the night it was filmed and it was a sublime yet powerful moment in life.
I usually play scarey music when i have the entire front of my home decorated on Halloween for the trick-or-treater's. I just decided since im a huge Pink Floyd Fan & really dig this long version, im gonna blast it on Halloween now!!! Only seems appropriate. I be Lovin all the awesome instrumental sounds. 🇺🇸☮️🐖🌈🐖🌻✌️🔮✨️❣️🌸 Sendin love out to All you Pink Floyd Friends 💌
nicely done renegade. one of my most favorite floyd tunes. that jam session is something else man. I've often thought this song should be longer. the graphics you added are equally remarkable. my hats off to you brother. cheers everyone
Overhead the albatross Hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves The echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine And no one called us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's Something stirs and something tries Starts to climb toward the light Strangers passing in the street By chance two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand The best I can And no one called us to the land And no one crosses there alive No one speaks and no one tries No one flies around the sun Cloudless everyday you fall Upon my waking eyes Inviting and inciting me To rise And through the window in the wall Come streaming in on sunlight wings A million bright ambassadors of morning And no one sings me lullabys And no one makes me close my eyes So I throw the windows wide And call to you across the sky
Fascinating imagination of creative lyrics, rythmn, have several Pink Floyd CDs-Pulse, Live at Pompeii-Dvds, Dark Side of the Moon, Meddle to name a few.
I’ve had debates with people about which Pink Floyd composition was their best and most said The Wall or Dark Side of the Moon and yes they were more successful commercially but as far as their crowning achievement in my humble opinion Echoes is far and away the best of all!
At 14:44, just at the moment when the "Hades" section of the piece is ending and Wright's organ returns, there is a deep sound in the background like tolling church bells far away across the fields. It's clearly recognizable as large bells in the distance on the original LP album (my own copy was bought in England in 1980), but it was toned down/muted and buried even further into the mix on CD releases. This might be purely for audio reasons, but also because David Gilmour as an atheist may have wanted to tone down a sound that hinted at a symbolism of afterlife/rebirth to a new life (while Roger Waters, who has never met his own father, presumably wanted it in there - but he was no longer a member of the working band by the time PF albums were remastered in the 1990s).
Pink Floyd. Possibly the best Psychedelic Band ever. When you are High and peeking on L. S D. Most people like perfection. That is what you got. On stage live or on an Album. They changed my conception of reality. And I thank Them for there Awareness. Sincerely, C.B. Carlos.
Keep on rocking brother! 🤘🤘🤘 Much love from Norway! My uncle died and his final words to me were "193.526.7637" PLEASE if anyone knows what this means message me on my facebook or on my messenger im not quite sure if he was being posessed by a demon of sorts or if it is some sort of code or perhaps coordinates to some sort of secret treasure.
Good quality recording but DAMN!!! The pictures... I'm an amateur astronomer with a math degree, physics minor and used to teach both. I can appreciate those pretty pictures and it goes so well with echoes. THANK YOU RenegadeRouser. I made sure to give you my thumbs up!
ECHOES is the GREATEST SONG OF ALL TIME from the GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME PINK FLOYD and IF it isn't then PROVE TO ME what is better but you cannot because I am 100% CORRECT because This is the Way...
OMG FINALLY I HAVE FOUND IT, THE MYTHICAL UNICORN, THE MYTH THE LEGENDARY RENEGADE ROUSER EXTENDED ECHO!!!!! IM SO HAPPPPPPYYYYY, MUCH LOVE AND THANKS RENEGADE
A great song to play when experiencing grief and dealing with a loved ones death... dad thank you for introducing me to this music so many great memories may you rip
Just watched a documentary about Sid Barrett. Meddle was the first album after he became unmanageable and was replaced by Gilmour. 1st side was folky, psychedelic music that they had been playing then side 2 is Echoes, the birth of all we've come to Know and love. This is the key turning point.
Beyond human description Gilmore and Wright by far best in what they play and sing.Waters and Gilmore also incredible combo.Saw this live in New York on the Island tour.Incredibly awesome!
