I randomly remembered this band today. First time I came across them was on their MySpace page (that shows how long ago that was). I was so glad to see they had an album release in 2019. Francine's vocals with Brandon, Kirk, and Sam's instrumentation together are so magical. There really isn't anything like this band, they are so unique. I hope to see another album soon but even if I don't, I'm grateful for the fact that I can still listen to the 3 that are out.
Near on ten years later, still love it, still desiring more metal women These guys should have joined Mindmaze, Arkona, and Sirenia (first N. American tour!!!) That show was amazing... this group would have made it even more so
Thank God for opinions that vary....Nightwish and Within Temptation are definitely in my top 5. I could listen to End of an Era and Black Symphony back to back all day, every day. Tarja and Sharon both....amazing to say the least....
The guitarist gave me free tickets to their show when I was 14 and broke but he knew I REALLY wanted to see them. These guys are fucking sick and so nice.

I've been listening to this song for a couple of weeks now trying to figure out what kept making me come back to it. I really like the two "break-downs" in the song. There is something sucking me in and I don't know what it is! I think I'm hooked!
This band is awesome. Their guitarist is amazing, he has one of the cleanest and crisp sound I have heard in a metal band. And their singer is good too. Their new album is also very good.
That singer lady is very lovely. I wish I could kiss her as well as accept that black rose that she holds out. This is the absolutely best song ever. Accidentally found out about them under the section of recommendations based on what I previously listened to
@LojakZeRo I'm another old guy that loves this band. I love all kinds of hard rock and metal. I listen to screamers, but it's nice when someone can carry a tune. There's a lot of really good songs on both albums this band put out. Everyone's got a right to their opinion, but I honestlt feel sorry for people who can't get beyond one style of music. Variety keeps it interesting. Keep rockin' Lojak!

Why is it people in the U.S. are so close-minded on female fronted metal. All of this is huge in Europe where people can establish an individual thought and not be told how to think. Get a mind of your own and if you don't lke a genre or sub-genre then don't listen to it. And if you think they are junk get off your lazy ass and put your own music out and see how popular your's is.
Not all of us are like this, though I do see your point. I welcome a female vocal over most males b/c they have a way of giving the number 'life'...just sayin'
I am also from the U.S. and most of my favorite bands are female led. For instance, Lacuna Coil, Sirenia, Leaves Eyes, Delian, ect. But for the most part you are correct. We can be pretty closed about female vocalists.
I love lacuna coil's earlier stuff and bits of their new... Tristania is cool too, among others. I'm not against it but a lot of it feels, sounds and is presented like it's trying too hard, or like it's trying to impersonate amy lee or cristinia scabbia. This is song is great though. Something a little different. I'm not against female fronted metal, though my taste are extremely particular. I get your point though, but (real) metal is dead in the U.S anyways. I'm not gonna sit there and shit on other genres and the "mainstream" but our media decides what is hot and what is not. I want to turn on a metal station and not be blasted with 24 hours of 5-finger death punch....
I love this band. I stumbled onto a few good female fronted bands by accident and this was one of them. I typed female fronted bands and this was one of the bands that came up. I loved it after I listened to it.
If Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Nightwish, The Gathering and many more cannot even continue to make good music, why the fuck do bands like this still to try break through? Even the founders of this genre fucks up with their latest albums. The genre is DEAD, like REAL dead. No one listens to those melo-chicks anymore. Better chance for them making money working the streets at night.
1. Echoes of Eternity is way harder than all bands you mentioned. 2. This is no gothic band. 3. Female fronted bands (mostly melodic but others too) keep coming out and are albums. So there must still be money in it.
I don't see why people like you these days are so intolerant. It's damn good music after all - nice instrumental, nice vocals, ok artistic viewpoint. Perhaps you don t know how much time it takes to create something like this. Just think how many people would spend days to make such work - very few, compared to how many produce simple commercial shit.
Dead? You do realise a lot of the bands you've mention have just recently released an album that sold PLATINUM. And some have been around since the late 90s.
LOL I'm laughing because the bands you mentioned aren't even the same damn genre! Evanescence is basically dark rock. Within Temptation and Nightwish are Symphonic Metal. Lacuna Coil is Gothic Metal. The only thing that connects them is that they all have female vocalists so lets cut the "this genre is dead" crap and just get to what you really want to say. Which is that you don't like the idea of females in metal. Like seriously, Within Temptation and Evanescence I can agree with you the albums are getting crap but Nightwish have FLOOR FUCKING JANSEN. And Lacuna Coil is headlining in The Forum! If you know anything about London, that's pretty damn good considering where they were last album. If anything the albums are getting better. Seriously I'd rather you be blatantly misogynist than pussyfoot around what you really want to say with this "the genre is dead" crap. Why? great LOUD & super sound quality video, THANK YOU! SO tired of low-volume videos.... My 1st impression is this is an 80s group! Her voice is nice, almost strong; but the sound of her voice doesn't pluck on my heartstrings like some & make me cry like some do. The music here is masterful & seems the driving force of the song ~ my impression only-and I've only heard this one song by them. I'm interested & will give them a chance by listening to more.
She banged her head through most of the last quarter of the tune. I've met and talked with her and she is a sweetheart. No pretense, not stuck up (like a lot of rock chicks are) and a truly rockin' gal. She's a lot tinier in real person (as is Doro), but no less a hard rocker.
sick riff, epic guitar work, beautiful vocals, awesome drum work, catchy rhythem, unforgettable solo, only thing missing is piano or organ work in it. 9/10

This is the thing, people bash this band for the changing of tempos, the oddness of her vocals on the harder riffs...YET...That is exactly what makes me love this band. I have like 100 bands that I listen to, yet, EOE stick out BECAUSE of the ''negatives' people put on them. People are allotted their opinions, and I enjoyed both of their albums. Listen to their other songs if this one bugs you, and stop paying attention to the video, LISTEN TO THE MUSIC
Liv Kristine may not have an 'amazing' voice but it is extremely pretty in such a way that makes a lot consider it amazing. Like me. I think she has an amazing voice. =)
The metalheads of good quality riffs, patterns with changes give balance to the song especially at the end hurts the vocalist who does not project too much missing voice
bdragoon....her voice is so good that it is easy to think thats its edited. I have seen this band live twice and belive it or not, she sounds exactly the same live! shes extremely talented....however we are all entitled to our own opinions. take care man...hail true metal!
Shit, guys! Not all metal should be screaming meaningless words, trying to drain the blood from your head by swinging it back and forth, breaking guitars! This is some pretty damn good melody!
@Epica124 i like every single band you've enlisted here. the fact is that asking alexandria and bullet for my valentine are technically weak compared to kalmah or ensiferum, but they can reach another level of feelings with their music: they don't really need to be good, we already have enough good bands like these ones you listed first; AA and BFMV music goes straight to what the ear needs. My ears are never bored of breakdowns for example, so AA are here to bring me some ^^
It depends on application. Like with Lacuna Coil, the female voice clashes very well against the male and the guitar/bass. The same goes with old school Evanescence. Then, Children of Bodom and Arch Enemy kind of work the same way, but with a voice that blends better with distorted guitars. In between, you have bands like The Agonist, All That Remains and In This Moment that transition between clean and scream/growl to highlight certain points in the song.
I actual enjoy this song. The way it was done and all. Yes I'm use to singers with more power in their voice, but I like how she sings. I like how it changes sounds, Going hard, than soft, and ect.

@xwolfy666 On the first album, yea. The new one, As Shadows Burn, tends to drop the melodic sections and sounds more flat out metal. I like the tempo changes myself, but we've all got our own tastes. Keep on rockin'!
