This is a rough clip from the short film "Easy as Pie". It's purpose is to show a quick example of "echolalia". www.pineheartproductions.com pineheartproductions
My youngest son tends to echo the last bits of whatever he just said & he wasn’t aware he is doing that. He also has problems reading smoothly, needing to pause to make some sounds but it doesn’t sound like grunting, it sounds as if he is hesitating which he isn’t, and he struggles to not do it. Would that qualify as echolalia or verbal tics? He gets penalised so badly for reading tests at school.
They penalize him but don't think that maybe they should test him? That doesn't sound right/fair. I can't answer your question but imo it sounds like he may need to be assessed. Hoping the best for him and you.
This doesn't really tell you if the person has it. She could be acting. It's an example yes but I am looking more for a person who repeats things loudly to himself and nobody is saying anything to him. What do you call that? Cause there is a man on the bus with that in Japan.
